What memories do you have of playing Final Fantasy VII?

The memories that I have of playing Final Fantasy VII are my first gameplay which was back in 1998 when I purchased the game. I still remember the day that I started playing it and started fighting the first boss which was the Guard Scorpion. At first I didn't understand how to use the materia system so I was confused a little and died. Then on the next day I learn that his weakness was with lightning by a friend of mine who told me about it so I started casting bolt on Guard Scorpion and defeated him. That is one of the memory that I still remember of playing Final Fantasy VII. Another memory that I remember is me having a difficult time defeating Gi Nattak at the Cave of the Gi. I was stuck with him do to my character's low level, so I stop fighting him and started leveling up my characters until I knew that they were at a descent level to face him once again.

Also I was having a difficult time with the Stingers which I always died do to his powerful Sting Bomb attack. I still remember the struggle I went through fighting this monster a few times just to continue the game. One of the greatest memory that I have is the first time I met Sephiroth in Nibelheim for the first time. As soon as I saw him he became my personal favorite character which at that time I didn't knew he was a villain until later on in the game. This is one of my personal favorite part of the game of all times. I loved his presentation and the music used at that part of the game. It is one of the greatest moment I had when I was playing the game for the first time.

That's all the memories that I can remember for now. If I remember some other memories I will post them when I do so.

oh a really bad memory this one, it was recently............I spent like literally 4 hours levelling up and for some stupid reason my brain just said to me let's go kill Emerald WEAPON the fight lasted a few seconds you can guess what happened (I died).........then I just turned the computer off and went to bed........It was the next day I realised I didn't save it and all my hard work levelling up was for nothing.

Lol I also have bad memory of guard scorpion. I borrowed the game from my friend, whom only bought it because it was a 3 disc game :cookie:, he hadent heard about the FF series before. I also remember dying the first time I fought Guard Scorpion, which really made me angry, because I really under estimated him..

Another bad memory was, when I got my hands on a walkthrough and found out how huch stuff I had missed in the game ( this was some time after finishing the game the first time)...I missed so much materia, weapons and even a character . But then I replayed it and got every item, weapon and other "hidden" secrets :) .

This game is my first gaming memory!
My mum bought the game and paid something stupid like £40 for it. Took about a week to get the part where you have to press the buttons at the same time as the others, couldn't do it and traded it in DX !
But it's all good cause 6 months later I'd nagged enough to have it back! :D
I remember getting quite far seeing as I was so little, I got to Sephiroth and couldn't beat him. I did it when I was like 10 though :D haha!
Love the game so much, even if it isn't my favourite FF.

Not a particular event from the game.

But its more of a general feeling of having a fun time playing on a sunday that comes around ever now and again, It was warm and I played nearly all day plus the music really gets me in the mood especially the music through Mount Correl and the world map music.

Other memories I have are based on battles, like when I got Cloud back after his sabbatical in the lifestream and you raid the Shinra submarine base in Junon, by this stage Cloud has been out of the team for while and roaring to get into it!:rage:

So who ever gets between him and the large Materia is SCREWED!!

Hmm memories.... That Twin headed Dragon in the Ice caverns when you're on your way to the Northern Crater in disc 2. It was my first time playing and i just wasnt doing enough damage and kept failing (dying). I ended up spending 2 hours lvling up just so defeat him.

My best memory was getting my first Gold chocobo. THAT was epic. i was so damn happy at the time, i released all the others excpet for the black one. the other 4 stable slots were all filled with gold and black chocobos. lol.

I remember I was about 7 years old playing this and I reached the ShinRa building. The scene where you get a glimpse of Jenova in that metal room or whatever it was. I couldn't tell it was Jenova's body, I just thought it was a pink neon monster, and it scared the shit out of me. And since then I've had unusual rare dreams of that same encounter with that thought monster, fighting it out on another game or something. But now 17 (9 days to being 18) I can portray how Jenova looks in many ways, irregardless of how I thought she looked in my younger years.

The Good- How sick Seph. was in the CG clips, as well as how cool all the cg clips were.

The Bad- Barret annoyed me because he was an overzealous douche. When I replayed it 10yrs later, my stance on him softened.

The ugly- I remember the first time I played, and got "lost" in the train graveyard, and spent forever wandering around until I found out that you could move the train.

My memory is good. I remember when I first got the game. I thought 'oh a memory card? Wow that would be cool in Super Mario Brothers 3!'. It amazed me on how long final fantasy VII was. You know a lot of games previous were long but geez not 40 hours or more. Anyways I thought by the end of disk 1 I discovered something... and I haven't quit playing final fantasy to this day.

I didn't had enough money back in 1997 to buy the game so I had to do an hour of bicycle every day to go to my friend's house and play with him on his PS1. I missed quite a few parts of the game because he was playing without me so I was really confuse about the story. I remember when we fought the midgar zolom the first time; it was an instant game over. I did miss the part when
Aeris dies
and I was shocked when I learned what happened.

After my friend finished the game he lent me his PS1 so I played the entire game in 1 or two weeks during the Christmas holidays. It was the best Christmas gift ever!
