MAYOR DOBE AND FLO: IRVINES PARENTS?

This is something l believed for a while(10 years) that Dobe and flo are lrvy's real parents. She does have his card after all and FVIII and most other chracter cards are held by there respective parental unit

Laguna has Sqaull's card
General Caraway has Rinoa's card
HM Cid has Seifer's card
Ma Dinch has Zell's card

these are not all the same obviously since the Trepies have Quistis'sss card
and Selphie's Trabian friend has hers. And when you control Irvine for that short time on FH he can wonder in to Flo house and you get feeling of awkward silence like she knows something

What do you think?
 
I actually never though about this tbh. I was never much of a card person anyways, so I never realyl collected/played cards. So, I can't really say for sure but, I get what your saying and... its an interesting thought. I have no clue tbh for I haven't played the game recently. I don't really remember that part :hmmm:
 
Same here, never thought of it. And also with the cards I never really collected them and never noticed that with the card collection. Im not saying youre right or wrong, does bring up an interesting theory though.
 
Hm.. wouldn't that also imply that Cid is Seifer's dad, then?

I guess that's a possibility. I mean there's no way we'll ever really find out, but there also doesn't seem to be a reason why the two of them would have put Irvine up for adoption.
 
It seems like it could be possible, however, like you said, just because someone has someone's card doesn't mean that they're their parents. The Trepies, Headmaster Cid, Selphie's friend...

I think that awkward silence that you were feeling wasn't really an awkward silence. If I recall correctly, Irvine couldn't possibly have contributed to the conversation they were having. That conversation between Mayor Dobe and Squall was only awkward because he was basically telling them to get out of their town.
 
l remember that conversation aswell, but l mean when Irvy's selecting band members and he can go to the garden or the junk shop and get some free ammo fromm the Galbaladian commander, he can wander inti the mayors house and speak to flow.

That's what some people think.

I don't that Irvine is the son of the Dobe's because he's supposed to be an orphan. There's no reason why they would send him to an orphanage rather than raise him themselves.
 
I have thought about this and wondered why Flo would have Irvine's card. But there is no way to make a connection to Irvine and Flo, so I generally just disregarded it.

If anything this would be my theory behind it. The people Fisherman's Horizon and Irvine have little to no connection with others in the game. So the developers just sort of gave Flo the card, as opposed to giving it to someone in Trabia, Balamb, a Shumi and naturally they couldn't give it to a friend of Irvine's in Galbadia Garden. The only other place they could attach to Irvine would be Deling City, and since General Caraway already has Rinoa's card, there was really nobody else to give it to. They could give it to a random person like they did for Kiros' card, but it was more interesting to give it to a more significant figure, even if that person has no ties to Irvine.
 
I have not referred it very well. I want to say that The conversation which you have to said that It had been not really very silence. Inspite of, I will see prefer more about the Irvine character. I am sure that I will come with much information.

i did find thee placement of some charactor cards a bit of a letdown like the kiros card and irvines (whos my favourite charactor so bit more of a letdown)
it doesnt really follow the flow like the obvious squall, rinoa and zell cards, but i think if they are his parents there would be a little bit more of a focus onit, ff8 was great for focusing on other charactors side storylines and past, that being said i dont think it can be ruled out completly :)
