Knights Of Crystal Sounds Like A Final Fantasy Subtitle [7/9]

Crystals are at the core of Final Fantasy mythology. So, when we discovered a European trademark for Knights of Crystal filed by Square Enix we immediately thought of fluffy moogles and chicly dressed summoners.

Final Fantasy: Knights of Crystal as a spinoff, perhaps? How about Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Knights of Crystal? It’s been a couple of years since the last portable Crystal Chronicles game.

On the other hand, this could be another iPhone game. Square Enix has been developing tons of those and registering trademarks for most of those titles.

Apologies to Siliconera for potential hurt feelings they may feel if they ever read my comment, and I really don't mean to be a prick, but how is this news? Conjecture written up by someone from one gaming news source hardly equates to actual news.

Well, if that had been the case, NieR would have marked the first decent KH game to come out. XD

In any case...meh. I can't say I'm keen on the Crystal Chronicles series (bad experiences playing the first one by myself, Ring of Fates/Echoes of Time being stupidly easy even if they are very pretty, etc) so if this is another CC game, it'll have to show me a lot or have a low price tag before I even consider buying it.

As for it possibly being an iPhone game...ugh. Make some PROPER games, Square Enix. You lazy pricks.

I didn't mind Echoes of Time or Rings of Fate even though I'd only played them for DS. Personally I thought they were much better than FFXII imo, which is sad compared with the money that went into each. All being said, if it's for the Wii I'll give it a miss >.>

If it's part of the Crystal Chronicles series then they aren't going to suddenly make it a whole new direction >.> If they're going to take any direction, start westernising titles. As Kojima said yesterday, Japan is a losing battle so start moving away from it.

Even though Versus will have crystal based mythology etc.. I'll give that one a definite go, but all these other side tracks on DS,Wii etc.. are just bullshit to me, thats my opinion..

I only care about Ps consoles FF titles.

I have no real love for the Crystal Chronicles games. So if this does turn out to be a CC game, I'm not going to pretend to be fascinated. If it is an iPhone game as well, I'll look away completely. I really don't see the iPhone or iTouch as being good gaming formats at all. The arbitrary touchscreen controls do not appeal to me.

I suppose it's not concrete news at all, but then again half of the news section is made up of rumours and assumptions anyway.

Plus, Siliconera is mostly correct when it comes to predictions. We'll have to see.....

Same here. I tried playing one of the CC games but it was just an utter fail to me. And same with the iPhone thing, I agree it doesn't seem all that fitted into a gaming format.

Have you've tried the first CC game? That one is really good.

Well maybe if this one is a CC game, they will make it more adult, mature and a better fight system? Maybe like Kingdom Hearts?
