A cockfighter in Mohanpur, West Bengal has reportedly been killed after his rooster slashed his throat during bout.
Owner Singrai Soren was fatally wounded by the razor blades he had attached to the cock's legs, the Daily Mail reports.
Dasai, one of the dead man's friends, said: "The rooster tried to get away from the ring several times, but Soren pushed it into the ring repeatedly. This upset it and it attacked Soren."
He added that the trainer had gone against convention by forcing the rooster into another fight immediately after a bout, rather than giving him an hour's rest.
"Soren wanted the rooster to go to the ring within a few minutes of its first fight and that is when it got upset," Dasai explained.
Police have urged villagers not to approach "an unknown rooster with black and red feathers". It is being speculated that the bird has been kept by a rival trainer.

Yes, another animal article. Go figure.
I find it quite funny to see that a cockfighter slashed his owner's throat. Sad that he got killed, he could've been lethal.
