Is the first Final Fantasy you played your favorite?

I think it is because there has to be a magnificent pull of the first game you play which satisfies you enough to want to start laying the other FF's. There must be lots of happy memories with the first game you play as it is the one that hooked you, presumably.

That said I don't belive it is entirely true. Since playing FFVII (my first) I have played most other FF's and my joint favourites are FFVI and FFVII, with FFIV and FFIX close behind.

So while not my ultimate favourite, at least not on its own, I still love it an awful lot. For me it isn't the fanboyism as I tend to like the things in FFVII that people seem to forget about, and I tend to prefer these things over the parts of FFVII that do get milked and hated by fans.
I just still feel that FFVII pulled off a fantastic blend of humour, dark story plots, fantasic music, great character design and had lots of awesome mini-games as well. I still feel FFVII was one of the best in achieving this.

You could argue that I still love FFVII because it was my first, and I'm sure there are some fond memories attatched to the first games of FF we play, but at least I know the reasons why I love FFVII and am not just following blind love.

My first was FFIV on the SNES as a wee lad, but IX (And Tactics but thats not a numbered game) is my favorite in the series.

My first was FF IV and it was my favorite for awhile. I really enjoyed the characters and the setting. It was also my first RPG. It was replaced by IX though and now it's my second favorite.

Technically, my first was Tactics advance for the gba. I still think it's an awesome game, but after playing X, it's no longer my favorite. Although, I do still enjoy playing through both again, it is simply each game is unique, because of the differences in gameplay.

Really though, X was my first numbered game, so I guess that my first true FF game is still my favorite.

My first FF game was VII, and for years it was my favorite. But somewhere along the road I realized that it wasn't as fantastic as I thought it was. I'd have to say that my current favorite is either VI or IX.

Yes, I played FFVII first and it is indeed my favourite.

It is a little more complicated than that though. I played FFVII for about 10 or so hours of gameplay when I borrowed it from a friend, then as soon as I gave it back, I went out and bought FFVIII, which was the first one that I played for any continued length of time. With that in mind, I suspect that FFVII would have been my favourite come what may, but that may be wishful thinking.

If I were a little younger, and played FFX first, I think that may have ended up as my favourite.

I might be an exception. First FF I played was FF8, i didn't adjust to it very well. I stopped Midway through disk 1 cursing it. I hated the Draw system and the way you had to rely on your GFs.

I picked up FF9 after putting 8 down and I absolutely loved FF9, best one IMO. I seemingly played 7 last and it was alright.

I eventually went back and finished FF8 and still looking back on it I still think It sucks.

I love every Final Fantasy every made. They're all so unique and well written. But the first FF's I ever played was FFIV and VI. They may not have the fancy graphics of today's FF's, but they'll always be special to me. Get all nostalgic whenever I play them xD
