WDYT? :ohshit:

Did Tetsuya Nomura gain a special... "inspiration" from The Lion King in creating the character of Cait Sith? :ohshit:

Or are they unrelated and any similarity between them a complete and absolute coincidence? :hmm:

Tetsuya could have some explaining to do...

Honestly I think it's a coincidence. Although they are quite similar, especially with the tusks.

But I think the real question is, Why does Cait Sith have boobs? 8(

No idea. I know that Tetsuya is a huge fan of Disney, from what I remember.

I doubt it. The lion king dudes don't piggy back nearly as much as cait sith and that giant moogle doll. The two groups of characters couldn't be any more different from each other imo.

The giant moogle doll doesn't sing Hakuna Matata.

The giant moogle doll doesn't speak at all, I believe. He's just a platform used by Cait Sith to get around and smash things up.

It's interesting how they designed the buffed up moogle though, when we think of moogles traditionally as being quite small and cat-squirrel-like. This version is like Cait Sith blasted his moogle with gamma rays.

I suppose that it looks similar in build to the old sprites for moogles in their earliest appearances. I can't find any pictures of them now because google throws up the FFIII 3D remake images up at me... I think though that the FFIII moogles (where, I think, they first appeared) had them at least appearing a bit larger, and they looked a bit more like the beavers in FFII. If I've made that up then tell me off.

Perhaps Cait Sith's moogle doll was trying to rock the beaver look.

its his neck tie, you muppets :lew:

Idunno if you were joking but I think they were talking about the big moogle part having pecs, not Cait Sith hisself.

And I'd like to thank you for pointing this beautiful correlation out. Loudmouth on top of a dum-dum. Now I'll always be thinking of Timon and Pumbaa when I see Cait Sith; it's nice, makes him more likable.

For the record though my vote is that it's 1000% coincidental.

Oh well....ahem *cough* naturally, I was joking :monocle:

In my defense, Cait Sith is the cat. The moogle thing is ...erm... just some fat moogle thing....

Nah, as far as I can remember there's always been a skinny / small guy and fat guy comedic duo. Just like that tiny dog and that bulldog from Looney Toons. I think it's just a coincidence.
