Is anybody even playing anymore?

well im busy...and the battles just seem same old same old. There's nothing for me to look forward to when I level up. there's no summons, I often get killed unless all my stats are focused in one area, and when I'm stuck in one place I often fet bored having to fight low level 1 expgiving monsters. I try really hard to get through it, but the adventure seems a little bland and is something to do when there'snothing better/important to do...since I almost always have something to do, I cant play as much

l stopped at level 18 lol in june I think?

It lost its appeal......it didnt cost any thing so I was not fussed in not playing it, like when you buy a game from the store you pay $100 and your miffed at getting a crap game, this was not crap by any means I just felt my time would be better spent doing something else.

I for one seriously want to play but have to wait for the 50 post requirement. Funniest thing is the longer it takes the more ideas I have. I'm literally afraid it'll all come out like a bad cluster ####. It's cool though, because as time goes by I'm having a better vision of how I want to play.

It's just really monotonous

It hasn't been updated in months. That's all I can say. If your sole job is RPG Director, it can't be that difficult adding one or two areas in the space of three months.

No new areas, no updates as to what will happen in forever, and the general lack of balance that many of the spells have created make continued play less appealing. Bosses for the most part pretty much all acted as a long, grueling tank and spank, and crafting was barely even used.

I've said since forever that developing new and better content for NEW players was much more important than extending the game for older ones. However this hasn't been happening and the game felt kinda empty once you got to the last few sets of areas.

This too -__-....There must be some way to getting the commands to be more...varied. Pressing certain numbers on a keyboard for successful attack? Maybe involving the keyboard in battles along with the mouse. Point and clicking gets really old for me after 30 mins or so...

I stop playing the RPG for a few months now since there isn't much to do left. I will play the rpg once there are new areas opened. I like to fight monsters and bosses more than I do with players.

As for the state of the RPG, I am not sure what is going to happen. I really apologize for the lack of new areas in the last few months. It has seemed to be a problem, with the RPG, in the last year. The RPG gets reset for a new game. Areas get added for a while and problems arise so nothing is done for a while.

It is very difficult to continue to add new areas every week or two weeks to find that a few people finish them in a couple hours, while others are totally stuck and quit. That is no way to keep the RPG running. As you may or may not know, I have had health issues for the past few months and could not really handle the issues that came out during the last few months, with the game. I should of kept you all more up to date with it.

the forum is giving me serious problems trying to complete this post.

I was going to make an area strickly for training for lower leveled players who were stuck. The higher level areas would be considered quests areas for special items. I really want the game to keep flowing, even if new areas are not added frequently. Seems the game is too level oriented.

As for the mechanics of the game, there really is nothing the directors can do other than make the game less monster oriented.

Adamant, I am interested in learning about your complaint with the spells. This issue really needs to be resolved.

To keep you posted on what has been discussed among us, there is talk of another reset and a start of a new game. But I really do not want to start a new game, with the same issues of this game and previous games.

Better that a few people quit when they can't get through an area, than everyone quitting when there's NOTHING to do.

And the spell issue is rubbish. There's no excuse for warriors consistently doing 4 times the damage of a spell capped at 400. A minor stat decrease doesn't help when warriors can simply pool their defense into magic defense and use techniques to augment their accuracy/strength, bypass our stats, and land hits.

How many people actually passed all the last areas? There were better spells added in the end of the last section I added.

I did. Jess did. Vikki did. I'm pretty sure Adamant did, and probably Sean too.

For me one of the biggest put off's with the RPG was forced elements, the idea of the open customisation was supposed to be to allow for players to go which ever path they wanted to go, however you had constantly respec for each new area and even between certain mob groups into a certain style just to pass on to the next bit.

The pets were also a major issue as well, being far too powerful and useful allowing players to simply act like Armored Pokemon masters, letting there pet do all the work while they just sat back, healed and took zero damage.

There were far too many glaring "class" balance issues as well, warriors could easily become practically undamagable by melee and extremely hard to hit with magic, tbh zero damage should never occur and leads to some very long, boring and tedious fights between players and player vs boss mobs alike.

Well maybe the spells were nerfed some because a while back multi turned spells proved to cause stacking which made magic way overpowered. Going back to what Gabby did with his character. Having a balance with this hack is somewhat impossible. Also attack types tend to be effected by spd. If a player gets to the point where they can attack more than one time, they can do rediculous hits. A reason why we were concerned about adding spells like haste. So the hack itself has huge glitches will never get fixed because of lack of system support.

So it is extremely difficult to keep the game running. At times, directors just need a break. But this shouldn't cause this present problem of nobody playing.

I do not see the game actually being able to handle true classes. So players should really be more concerned with balancing their character other than creating a character of a certain class. One reason for unlocking stats. Also, I want to avoid one player getting to the point where nobody can beat them because their stats are swayed to a certain style and usually using no def. Just attack and speed.

So anyway, only 125 people actually opened RPG characters. Only about 10 actually completed the game. The forum has a huge membership and these stats are quite sad. Right now, nobody is playing because no area has been added for months. It shouldn't be this way. There should be at least 400+ playing. But guess that would cause the server too much stress. So I am between a rock and a hard place here.

I'm sorry, but if you're an RPG Director, you SHOULD focus on the RPG. It's your job, and if you can't do it for months on end, you should just step down and leave it to someone who can. I'm sorry if that's offensive, but mods don't take breaks for months. This RPG was more popular than any past RPG and why should it fail because you can't continue it?

Also, 2 spell decreases still don't make up for 2000 damage. We need Speed, MP, Magic, and Defense/Evasion as mages. Add a cap to that and it's discrimination.

Are you trying to say you would want the job? That is what I am reading here. Also, I am not alone. There are two other directors. I just see you complaining with no suggestions. No, adding a new areas every week to two weeks would get anybody down. I am sure it would for you too.

I have had this position for 4 years now. I have seen all kinds of situations. Everybody burns out. Also, I have seen people who just plain did nothing. While others did all the work. So the comment step down for sombody else would leave the game with probably somebody worse. I have been thinking of stepping down. But that is the easy way out. Also, if you never used the RPG ACP, you would have to be trained. Which would take the other directors out of actually working on the game.

The issue here is to keep people playing while not causing somebody working hours on end to keep players entertained. You probably do not understand that it takes hours to get these areas right. Also we cannot produce a totally boring area to just add areas.

The point of this thread is to get input. Not the constant I'm bored because no areas have been added for months.

This thread sounds an awful lot like to me that you are wanting to pull the plug, or you dont want the position anymore, we have given you answers, more than just "there were no new areas" and all we are getting is excuse after excuse.

TBH i think the real problem is that you have dead weight on your team that you need to cut, as understandably you and bolt probably hold down jobs outside the forums and cant be here all the time, maybe cutting that dead weight will make your jobs a bit easier?

I'm not saying I WANT the job. I'm just saying that if you can't do it, hire a temp or someone while you regain your inspiration. If I can't keep my inspiration for something, I step down. And I'm not asking for a weekly addition to the RPG, but I believe when we haven't seen any progress in months, there's every reason for us to complain. You request reasons why people have stopped playing, and yet when reasons are given, I see no desire to change.

I'm not accusing you SOLELY. But work doesn't stop because one person loses inspiration. Surely you are all losing inspiration, or unable to come together. There are complaints when people don't reach the end, and then when they do, progress ceases and ceases for months on end.
