Oh Oh! Take lots of insect repelent and sunscreen and make sure you take really light clothing.

Though you can always buy insect repelent and sunscreen here. XD

Thongs are a must.

Winter is pretty hot here too especially for someone coming from the UK. >.<

What part of Australia are you going to? I thought you mentioned Perth in one thread before?

Can't really help with the flight stuff sorry. Never been on a plane in my life! :gasp:

How long are you staying for?

Get a travel adaptor so that you can recharge your camera/DS/lap top/phone. Their power points are weird down here, so your chargers won't be any good unless you have a travel adaptor. Also if you are staying for a while and have room in your suitcase, you might want to bring a UK type extension socket so you can charge more than one thing at a time.

If you haven't done so already, you might also want to look into getting a tourist visa: http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist/evisitor/

What airport are you flying from and in which airport do you have a stop over? I've flown back and forth between Europe and Australia 4 times, so I might be able to help you out.

Have a nice trip :)

Its in Perth yes. Dad said its summer already?! Brillant. Im going for a month.

@ Sir Kenneth: And my dad already has some adapters to convert my charges. His wifes family go over all the time, so they need to have these things over for when they are there. I asked my dad about this visa and he said I wouldnt need one cause Im staying with my family. I should be flying from Manchester and stopping in Dubai for about an hour.

Hahaha! I've only flown from Frankfurt and Heathrow with transit in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, so I won't be able to help you there :P As far as the visa goes, I don't think your father is right. As far as I know, noone who's not a citizen or permanent resident can enter Australia without a visa. Regardless of whether you dad is right or wrong though, I'd still get one if I were you. You can apply online, it's really cheap, and the visa will be issued immediately. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Oh yeah it's still Summer and will be until the end of February.

At the time of posting I didn't know how long you were going to be staying so I was just giving you some advice in case you stayed through Winter. XD

No idea about the Visa thing either. Never left the country so can't help with that sorry. >.<

Good luck with it all! =D

I think you should apply for a visa anyway just to be safe.

Who is eVisitor for?

An eVisitor is designed for people who are outside Australia and want to visit Australia for tourism or business purposes.
Tourism includes holidays, recreation and seeing family and/or friends.
That's from the Website Sir Kenneth posted, so I think it would be best to just get a visa anyway.

There isn't too much I can add to your list of things to bring. But if you are only staying for February be warned that from my experience it is the hottest month over here. I've noticed that tourists from the UK are typically not used to the heat in Australia, a few years ago the Barmy Army visited my city during a heat wave and they appeared to be struggling. So you should pack really light clothing (as Kandy suggested) and make sure you wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water because Heat Stroke is a real bitch.

Well Im heading out in 2 days, so not sure what posting on here will be like. Ill try and get on via my dads computer. Im a big bag of nerves. I just wish it was a non stop flight cause I dont want to get up and run around Dubai airport terrified Im going to miss the plane or be abducted. Im my own worse enemy with this sort of thing. But Ive never travelled along before and to be honest ... Im scared.

Have fun in Australia! I would love to go there for the first time as well, so I'm a little envious of you actually! :P I hope it goes well for you and that you have all the necessary items! Feeling Dubai's and Australia's heat will probably be weird since the UK is so cold.

I'm sure you'll be fine on your flight. You get a stop in Dubai, which is also somewhere I would also love to visit. It's perfectly understandable to be scared. I've never flown alone before, but I can imagine how scary it sounds. It won't be as bad as you think. Who knows, you might even enjoy your flight a lot!

Good luck with it all!

It's freakin' hot down here at the moment so I hope you intend on bringing some togs and that your dad has air-con. >.<

He'd be mad not to. XD

Good luck on your flight! I'd be scared going on a plane with or without someone to be honest. >.< Not that I've ever been on one to really know.

Anyway, have a safe trip when you leave!

I've never flown alone so I'd be shitting bricks too :wacky:

Hope you have an ace time anyway, which I'm sure you will, you lucky devil

Lol, thanks for all the tips guys. Im heading out in 2 hours, so Ill be in Oz tommorow lol XD Time difference thing is a pain! Im packed and just chilling out now. Ill try and get online when I get some spare time and upload some piccies. Pray I get there safey XD So peace out dudes and dudettes :)

I'm glad you decided to make this trip. Especially with all you were going through, it'll certainly be nice to take a breather from everything. I hope you enjoy yourself and make the best of your trip. :ryan:

Hope you have a great time!

I'm sure you'll be fine. I've never flown alone, and for as long as that, but as far as the actual flight is concerned you'll be fine! Luggage and checking in on time is only hassle for a while, and you can relax and enjoy the clouds on the plane (but get up every now and then to stretch your legs). Not to mention the journey being worth it.

Have a great time, I hope you meet many kangaroos, and that you hug a koala as that would be awesome and totally worth the trip (as well as spending time with your Dad, of course!).

/late :sad2:

Hey guys, Im here XD The weather is sooooooooooooo hot, so having a pool is awesome. Its so expensive here, I paid $120 for the special edition of ME2 and $19 for the walkthrough! Mental, but I wanted it XD Ive posted pics up on Facebook. Sadly I couldnt get to see Muse as it was a sold out event over here, but September is the month for me!!

Its such an amazing way of life here and my family are happy for the move. The flight was draining and I puked couple times :( Hope everyone is good, peace out!!
