I'M AWESOME!! :ohshit:

How many artists can make a decent living from that same dynamic?

"let it happen" as if its a bad thing?

you just have sensible, honest artists (who are clearly passionate about what they do) putting out work for ANYONE and saying "if you like it, support me. if you dont like it, i still got you to download it anyway."

yeah, they have to make money, presumably they rely on tours for that. theyre cutting out the middle man who makes everything so expensive, and who ultimately rips them off. we dont need gazillions of monies to live comfortably, these people clearly recognise that. let talent speak for itself.

that depends how you define "decent", 5 mansions all over the world, no? but who needs that? and i suspect a whole lot of artists COULDNT survive this way, but that brings me back to letting talent speak for itself.

Well 5 mansions is the dream but I meant enough to make not working on a common career. Not many artists I know can say that. They have to haul their equipment all over the country and at times Europe to get paid and usually it's barely worth all the effort. They do like doing it of course, but how many talented artists just don't fit today's mould? How many can sing, dance, write, etc but just aren't quirky enough to grab the attentions of enough people to make a living. How many as a consequence of those factors have to 'sell out' as it were, to survive? How many will 'sell out' once the prospect of 5 mansions becomes a real one?

One thing is talent, another is a market. Talent doesn't always shine through.

well I did say that talent wouldn't always "speak for itself" :jtc:

If you want, I could neg you and see if it goes back. :andry:
