The ninth series has kicked off tonight and we've got a load of celebrities to watch squirm in the jungle with all sorts of creepy crawlies and those Bushtucker Trials! Use this thread to discuss this year's show and voice your opinions ...

The participants have been announced as:

  • Samantha Fox, former model and singer.
  • Kim Woodburn, How Clean Is Your House? presenter.
  • Justin Ryan, interior designer and TV presenter.
  • Colin McAllister, interior designer and TV presenter.
  • Lucy Benjamin, former EastEnders actress.
  • George Hamilton, American actor.
  • Gino D'Acampo, celebrity chef.
  • Sabrina Washington, singer.
  • Camilla Dallerup, Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer.
  • Jimmy White, snooker player.
  • Stuart Manning, former Hollyoaks actor.
  • Katie Price, former glamour model and television personality.
 
I wouldn't have even put those spiders in my mouth, despite being paid a three-figure sum if I were a celebrity! Just know that Katie's arrival is going to cause shockwaves throughout the camp, I hate it when the producers have to throw some stupid surprise. For once, I actually liked the peaceful atmosphere in camp.

Does anyone predict that Kim and George will be getting nice and comfy in the caravan? xD
 
I didn't really watch it, it was on in the background but I was too preoccupied with other things. I managed to see them going through the water on the horses, it was funny the way the horses went pretty mental :wacky: I hate the fact Katie Price is in, mainly for the fact I hate her :jtc:
 
Well let's just say that those spiders wod never have been near me as I don't like spider (they're just nasty insect), I'm sorry my but that would have been two star the camp would have don without but but it does make good entertainment. Personaly one of the best cast of the series so far (come I love kim) but as for katie price making another is appearance is just another attempt to keep on the lime light like her ex husband (just sad really). But as the show goes just fun to watch
 
Gino, Sam Fox, Colin, Justin and Kim = me :D Love them.

But Im not impressed with Jordan appearing. Sad bitch. "I dont give a fuck what people think of me. Im trouble all over". No, youre a sad slag who does care what people think. You have a shite career, we all hate you and love you husband. Go and die already you sad twat. Rant over lol.

I hope people in there treat her like the shit she is.

Nah, she's there because that's the only way she knows how to get popular in the public eye... Now that she is no longer part of the "fairytale couple" scenario she tried to paint for herself, she's gone back to the only other thing she knows really.

It'll be silly if she ends up marrying someone from this years show. If she does though, I can't imagine as many people will be behind her and enjoying watching her do that.

It's rly uncool as she's been paid double what the other contestants have been have been paid to go on the show, IMO she's there for publicity 0:

My gan actually felt sorry for her tonight after the trial. I couldnt give a hoot to be honest. She has dug herself a hole and thinks any publicity is good publicity. Well, guess what Katie? Not everyone loves you!!

Justin commenting on Kims boobs makes me lark ^^
 
Anyone still been watching this? I've finally been able to catch up on the past week or two for the past four days. A lot of it has been hilarious, especially when you involve Ant and Dec! So far, I want Gino to win the show. I haven't watched tonight's show yet since I'm still currently watching Wednesday's, so please don't spoil me! :gasp:
 
I've never watched a whole series before this year, but I've really enjoyed it. It was a bit shitty while Katie Price was in, but once she left, it became brilliant. I hope either Kim or Gino win, it would have been totally boring without either of them this year.
 
But what about George? I thought he was a legend in there with his stories and oh, the speed dating in the caravan! That was definitely one of the highlights. His remark at Justin was hilarious, "You looked like you wanted to have sex with me straight away." :wacky:
 
I'm so glad Gino won. He's so handsome and everything he do, he does it for a good reason. Nice personality and italian accent :wacky: He actually cried when his kids ran in :) <3

Kim's a legend. Period. She survived in the jungle for longer than I expected, so well done to her. WHat she said about Jordan is true, and I liked the fact that she can seperates things between morally right and wrong.

Sabrina and Stewart FTW <3 Did you see when Kim asked her all that stuff about kissing and you-know-what to Stewart? I was just like LOL

Colin and Justin were cute and nice.

I'm glad Gino won, too, but I'd still be happy if Kim won. However, I did like Jimmy at the same time. He'd be all quiet and then randomly deliver some of the greatest one-liners you'd ever hear! The three trials they had to do on the last day was so funny, but Gino having to eat a crocodile's tongue was the most disgusting yet!

London, UK (CNS) - Gino D'Acampo and Stuart Manning are facing jail for eating a rat in the Australian outback whilst they were appearing on ITV1's show "I'm A Celebrity". The producers of the show have been told they will not face charges over the alleged animal cruelty.

Gino D'Acampo and Stuart Manning have been ordered to appear in court on February 3rd 2010 on charges of animal cruelty. In the series the contestants are split in to two groups with one of the groups having strict rations to survive on. This then put the group in fear of not having enough energy to complete challenges.

Gino D'Acampo has gone on to win the show and said killing the rat was "not done by choice but it's done because we need it. We need some kind of protein; we need some kind of flavor." The actor has said that he asked the producers if it was ok to kill and eat a rat and was given the all clear. However the RSPCA in New South Wales has said it was "not acceptable" to kill the animal due to it being part of a performance.

Fellow contestant George Hamilton has defended the act, telling the Daily Mirror that the permission was given by the producers but it has been announce that this is against the "code of practice". This code dictates how animals can be used during theatrical productions and films.

I came across that story in the News of the World newspaper. It was the most stupid thing I have ever seen. I don't condone animal violence, but it was just one rat! The RSPCA go on about how it was tamed and not wild- but how does it require for Gino and Stuart serve time behind bars? A lot of people have killed rats of many kinds for different reasons, but these guys were in the outback and they HAD NO CHOICE but to kill it.

It makes it even more ridiculous in that the two were even told they had the consent to kill it. Now they're out and are told they have to be at court. Though I have respect for the RSPCA of any branch- this has gone too over the top. Also- it was a rat. On the set of I'm a Celebrity. What will be next? Charging contestants of animal cruelty by killing and eating creepy crawlies?

Yeah.... There were people that were never that far away from the camp... The rat thing had been brewing for ages so they had plenty of time to come down and stop them.

Also it seems as if they're just using it as an excuse to get at the people on the show / getting at the show a bit. Since the eating of bugs etc I guess they have some sort of clearance for, but they're going to try and hound them for this as it was not part of the plan.
 
I don't see how that's fair...if it was a tame rat, or whatever, they wouldn't know that! And your first reaction when you see a rat would either be to run away, or kill it, to be honest.

I hope they don't get punished for killing it...although eating it was a step too far, the producers should have stepped in and stopped them there :wacky:
