I Got My First Job! :D

Ohhh ayye maybe. Im sure its something to do with an hourly rate or something over here because apprenticeships can ignore the minimum wage thing because your pay increases each year :hmmm: Minimum wage in the States is much lower than here too.
 
i remember when i was 15/16 i thought my mates were getting paid loads at their apprenticeships, but you look at it now and it's absolutely nothing. especially when you consider the hours, and that most apprentices have to pay for their tools as well
 
The workshop i served my time at supplied all your tools free of charge where others ive worked at have charged them. Its not cheap either. Mechanics have it the worst of all as they need so many tools. I think when i was in my frist year i was on something like £3.80 an hour or something and taking home 120 a week :lew: At the time it did feel like loads but its pennis really. As you get older though the more you earn the more you spend. On night shift i was earning 10 times that and i still didnt manage to save money :wacky:

I really should have saved some considering my boiler and shower just broke. Resulting in me having to have a cold bath >_>

I was on £31 an hour. The most ive ever been on in my life. All the money in the world though doesnt really make up for not having a life. I left because they wanted me on permanent nights and i wasnt up for that. I can handle a 2 week spell but no way am i spending all my days working 8-8

That's a hell of a job starting at so young of age. My first job was night shift at target getting paid 11 bucks an hour for doing stocking. It was pretty tiring at first, but gave me a huge boost over time.
 
14 is legal age in some states, whereas it's 15 in others. It's monitored pretty heavy, though, and child labor laws are pretty strict 'till 16 IIRC.
