How will they screw up Versus?

I will officially give up on the series if they ever leave the Playstation to become Xbox-exclusive. They did it to me once with Nintendo (I was anti-Playstation then, so I had gotten VII and VIII on the PC...), but now that I love Playstation they better not do it to me again unless they were to go back to Nintendo (which I doubt the main series ever will).

I don't agree with games being exclusive for any console unless hand-held as buying a hand-held is not that expensive but buying s PS3 or Xbox costs a lot of money and different people prefer different consoles

The game should be on both Xbox 360 and PS3 :)

If it is to be ruined, it will be done by them having spent 99% of their development effort on the gameplay and graphics, and only 1% on the actual story. Having played nothing later than XII but heard horror stories about XIII concerning this issue, I'm guessing that is their current trend, because there seems to be this odd trend lately of action games and story games trying to meet in the middle to get the widest available audience. And the end result is much the same as a kangaroo and an alligator trying to meet in the middle to create what everyone seems to expect will be an offspring that will be mankind's greatest invention since sliced bread. When really it's just a hideous experiment gone terribly wrong that no one should ever have to see.

It will be destroyed and I'll be angry if....

1. The game goes multiplatform on the 360 and causes further delays and more fanboy wars over which version is better (the PS3 version obviously would be, but Xbox fanboys would deny that fact.)

2. The game is short and has an either boring or difficult as hell story.

3. Looks depressing and dull.

4. Is hard and/or has a massive learning curve.

That's about my only worries.

Um I actually have high hopes for this game so......they wont! And if they do I'm quitting this series while I still can.

I don't think the storyline was the weakest part of XIII though. It was the linearity. It's more linear than a game like X.

you got a point there there was nothing to do apart from the storyline boring i turnt ffxiii off in chapter 11

It actually gets a little better after chapter 11.

oh ok i might grind it out to after chapter 11 :)

:)

the start was good but after chapter 5 it just got a bit boring :/

It gets more playable the further you get through it.

I have to ask, how exactly does releasing a XBOX360 version of the game ruin it's overall quality? Some of us don't have a PS3 you know and it would be nice to play some of these games without having to pay extra for a console which, in all honesty, haven't lived up to the hype nor proven itself worth the money it cost since coming out. In fact I think that's part of the reason PS3 have lost so many exclusives to the 360 in the first place... Either way if it's an exclusive to the PS3 it won't convince me to buy a PS3 since Metal Gear Solid 4 certainly wasn't enough to make me buy one either.

I'm not going to think on terms of how they're going to screw up. I'm going to hope that they look at everything that was bad with previous games and try to purge that out of the next game making it better and we can start to see some improvement. I just won't hold my breath for it. But they can still turn things around if they actually work on it and don't try to rush any more projects out the door because they want to release it at a certain date.

Yet it does. It costs time and money to port a game, and too much consumption of that over making a game multiplatform and they might ruin both versions.

Huh... Didn't know all that.

Okay thanks for that answer. I support it being on just one platform then if that's the case.

The game is linear from start to finish. I don't see have ONE big field makes it less linear when all the paths leading off it are linear too. Fair enough, you can take the odd route elsewhere now and again but it's still linear imo.

Also, to be fair to the 360, it didn't screw FFXIII, the game itself was just shit. It just showed how much better blu-ray is :griin:
