Hello fellow FF'ers! :domo: :cloud: :domo:

I'm new to the forum, but I've been a Final Fantasy fanboy since I was a kid. The first Final Fantasy I ever played was Final Fantasy 6, which I of course thought was Final Fantasy 3 at the time. I have fond memories of my brother and I visiting a friend's house to play FF6, because our friend had not only the game but also the strategy guide. We got to the part when Celes jumps, but then one day we paid our friend a visit to find his family had moved away without telling anyone.

We had to know what happened next, so we asked our dad to rent it from Warehouse (anyone remember Warehouse?). He did, and we must've kept the game for 3 months, playing it every chance we got. Our dad thought we returned it already, until he was told he owed massive late fees, so one day he stormed into our room and pulled the game out of the Super Nintendo, while it was still on, and stormed out. Our reaction was priceless.

I never played the game again until it was re-released for Playstation. It was then that I finally beat my favorite game of all time. Even though I am currently playing other games, I am trying my hand at FF6 again on my GBA Emulator for iPod Touch.

Since being introduced to the series, I've played the following (*** means I not only played it, but also beat it):
- Final Fantasy Adventure (Game Boy)
- Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (SNES) ***
- Final Fantasy Tactics
- Final Fantasy 1 (Dawn of Souls on GBA; never played 2)
- Final Fantasy 3 (DS Remake) ***
- Final Fantasy 4 (DS Remake - Currently Playing)
- Final Fantasy 5 (Playstation release)
- Final Fantasy 6 (obviously) ***
- Final Fantasy 7 ***
- Final Fantasy 8 (Played original on Playstation; currently playing on emulator)
- Final Fantasy 9 (Emulator only)
- Final Fantasy 10
- Final Fantasy 11 Online (very briefly)

So yeah, I haven't played 'em all, but that list shows how much of an impact playing FF6 had on my life. I've played many other RPG's from other series', but none have yet to live up to FF6 for me.

I'm just a dude living alone in poverty. I'm working a dead-end job, and even though I'm not in school, I'm attempting to learn Python as a first programming language. My ultimate goal is to be a software engineer, but it would be cool to specialize in videogames. I have a hot girlfriend who has been with me through thick and thin for over two years, and a few days ago, after watching the movie Earthlings, I've decided to go vegan (it's tough!).

This forum looks pretty cool. Can't wait to get stuck in. :)

Looks like you already have. Welcome and have fun here =/ I know I've enjoyed it so far. Nice to see so many FFVI fans too I must say. Though I wish your reaction was filmed because I know it'd have been amazing haha. Hard luck on the game but you got to try it again later I suppose.

Good god /essay :gasp:

Welcome dude

Haven't you beat IX? I'm abit thick, so might be reading it wrong

Id this is the case though, get it beat :monocle:

I agree. FFVI is definitely up there with the best RPGs you can get. :ryan:

Welcome to the forums! :dave:

I haven't yet beaten FF9. I never owned it before my PS1 broke down and I gave away my PS2. I actually tried playing it for the first time very recently on epsxe. I got to the part where Vivi is introduced, and as soon as I walked past some girls playing jump-rope, the game froze. Yesterday, I found a more viable emulator in PS-X. I'm currently trying a run through FF8, but I definitely will get around to playing FF9.

:awesome: Excellent taste, it and IV are absolutely the best :D Also--I saw that you're playing the FFIV DS remake--I am too, and while the graphics are cool and the language translation's a bit better, I would definitely recommend playing the SNES version if you can. The characters seem a lot cooler and more mature without the voice acting, and the original music from the SNES version is far more epic than the DS revisions; I'm actually surprised that they considered stripping them down to be an improvement >_>

and a few days ago, after watching the movie Earthlings, I've decided to go vegan (it's tough!).

:highfive: Vegetarian :neomon: I'm only not vegan because I'm too addicted to cheese and chocolate :sad3: All the substitutes in my local stores are expensive and subpar -__- It really is tough, but I wish you good luck ^^

Anyways, welcome, post lots, and hope you have lots of fun here! :D
