XBox Halo-Favorite Gun Combos

In any of the Halo games which is your favorite gun combo? Being only able to carry 2 at a time which guns are you most skilled with and which are most useful to u?

I play Halo 1's campaign the most:

Favorite Gun Combo: Assault Rifle + Needler

Assault Rifle because it easily mops the floor with the lesser aliens without much effort. I use the Needler to take out the elites, releasing a full clip into there faces without much effort, very useful when u got a mass of those bastards running straight for ya.

Hmmm, i play halo 3 the most, and i like the battle rifle and sniper rifle because the battle rifle quickly takes out the enemies shields, and if you use the sniper well enough, you can just snipe the enemy in the head and 1 shot them.

But i also like the Shotgun and Energy Sword, The shotgun because it can either kill the enemy or greatly decrease their shields depending on how far away they are, and the energy sword because it is a definite 1 shot kill unless you are sword battling and the person hits you with a sword at the exact time you hit them.
 
Halo 2 BR/Sniper.
If I miss the headshot but I hit them then the
mid range battle rifle will kill them in 1 shot.
Same with Halo 3.
 
Ughhh I have not played Halo in ages but Im looking forward to the 2 new ones coming out. Anyways I love Sniper plus shot gun. Sniper for long range and shotgun for when someone comes close. Pistol plus plasma pistol is pretty fun too.
 
Overall my favorite would be a Shotty-Snipers combo with the perfect long-range weapon and the best around the corner power weapon for close range combat.

If I can't have a sniper though, the Battle Rifle is where it's at for me. It's probably the most effective weapon in the game at any distance, and a beast to use if you've got the accuracy down-pact. As for my secondary close-range weapon, I'd go with the Mauler. One shot with it at close range and then a lunge with the melee button works wonders. Dual-wielding it is as effective as a Shotgun as well.
 
I always carry a shotty. one hit kill XD! The other is usually a BR. Im decent with accuracy, so a few burst to the head does the trick.
 
I usually play Halo 1 and my preferred combinations are

Machine Gun / Sniper Rifle
Shotgun / Machine Gun

depending on the level. In both cases I'm equiped for both long range and short range.
 
Halo 3: Battle Rifle or Covenant Carbine / Shotgun

I'm not particularly skilled with the Sniper Rifle (I can hold my own, but I by no means can fire headshots consistently), so I tend to stick with the Battle Rifle. They're more readily available, and they pack a whallop if you know where to place the crosshair. According to my online stats, close to 50% of my kills are BR kills.

The Shotgun's great to have for close range combat, obviously. I prefer it to the sword since it gives you the option to follow up a shot with a melee attack.

My favorite weapon period on Halo 3 is the plasma grenade. Sticking someone is the most satisfying way to get a kill.
 
Rocket Launcher/BR - but since Rocket Launcher/spartan lasers are power guns... I'll pick something different.

I can pretty much poach anyone with any gun, not trying to say I'm "That" good. My thing is I'm really conservative with sniper shots. I generally pull it out when I can make a good placement. My battle rifle is very very fierce when I'm being bullied by more than one, or just 1 on 1.

I'm most definitely good with the needler/mauler. Needler used for mid range, and Mauler used for short. I try to never do long range.. with these two in possession.
 
Halo 1: Assault Rifle + SPNKr
Halo 2: Brute Shot + Energy Sword
Halo 3: Assault Rifle + Energy Sword

+ Shotgun for any levels with large amounts of Flood.


Energy Sword ftw. <3
 
Honestly it depends on the level.

Halo 3:

Small Level - Rockets/Shotty
Medium Level - BR/Rockets
Large Level - Sniper/BR

I'm pretty crap with the battle rifle and sniper rifle, so I tend to stick with just the assault rifle and anything else I can find. I usually avoid the rocket launcher because I have bad luck with it and usually end up killing myself too. >>
