Vice Nebulosa
Dark Matter Turner
Hey, all; umpteenth noob of the day speaking, I'm sure. It is somewhat difficult to differentiate myself at this point from the guy in the umpteenth-minus-one position, but hopefully time will allow that I do so in the near future by my interactions with individual people.
You know, last time I had the unpredictable "forum urge" to join a new community (and it has been a while), I ended up integrating my opening post with a several-thousand word explosion of thoughts about some or other ranting subject that happened to be on my mind. This was a loquacious trend I carried over into many other posts on the boards in question, and, though some intelligent discussion was had, I found that, by the end of a month or two, my interest in summoning up that kind of effort had completely combusted. So, despite appearances, this post is actually an example of conciseness (or rather, my own take on the concept).
This forum was chosen because it was the most overtly casual that I have seen in quite some time. I consider this a compliment; in my brief observations of its activities, I saw no evidence of an "overlord" (a member who tends to dominate discussions aggressively or receive great attention/hero worship), and even some of the more serious threads seem, by and large, to be handled with a satisfying mixture of coherence and calmness. I like it.
As far as suitable nicknames go (as much as I like my current username, and the circumstances under which it was conceived, "Nebulosa" can be a bit of an irritating word to type out time and time again), "Vice" works as well as anything, but hell, something more creative could be amusing, and I am not about to get bent out of shape on the matter in any event.
I have been looking around for some time; I hope to stay.
