this thread is for talking about the redeeming qualities of some of the lousier titles in the FF franchise

please try to find at least one good thing about the lousy games, otherwise, steer clear of this thread

for example: one of the few redeeming qualities of X2 is the fact that they did allow you to change your 'class' during battles(i.e. dresspheres)

Well there's a lot of controversy surrounding FFVIII. I have to say, that I don't altogether hate the game. It just has more cons than pros in my opinion. Regardless of it's numerous inconsistencies, it does still retain a few outstanding features that make it all worth your while.

I personally did enjoy a few different features like the junction system, and the breathtaking landscape, town, and city designs. The story was somehow intriguing to me, regardless of my spite for the poor character designs.

Not that this is a thread based on fact but..

In DoC, I loved the whole dark and moody idea. Some bits of the storyline, setting, kinda put me off a bit at times. But the majority of the time, I strangely liked it.

FFVII, the storyline. Sephiroth - yes, there are better villains, but he had something about him I liked. Storyline, some bits I kinda wanted to scream at, but it really did pull you in.

...that's it I guess.

I agree with Starflares comment too about the dressphere thing. I found more plus things in X2, but that was like for me, one of the MAJOR plus points.

This is interesting.

Well I don't hate FFXII, but compared to the rest of the series, it's below the list for me, mainly because the storyline didn't captivate me in any way.

However, I like some of the characters there, such as Fran and Balthier. Their accents were really something. The graphics were superb, and I did enjoy the battle-system, as it made the battles more realistic in a way. (The characters don't just stand there - they actually move around.) There were a lot of features that the game offered, which is much appreciated, despite my thoughts about certain aspects of the game that did not really appeal to me.

Things I liked about FFVIII:
-Great music
-The GF ability system was handy
-Triple Triad
-The Ragnarok (particularly the way it looked)
-Laguna
-Ultimecia's Castle

Things I liked about FFX:
-The battle system
-The sphere grid
-Overdrive system. I liked being able to set it up how I wanted it.
-The graphics and scenery

Eureka 7: The New Wave and it's seuqel. These games are horribly horrible shit. It's not worth the 20-30 $ you'll have to pay for them.

But the redeeming qualities were being able to lift on a ref-board and LFOs. I swear, I could never get tired of Air Battles on an LFO. I played in mission mode much longer than I did in story mode. xD

X-2 sucked generally...But I am happy they made the game 'cause I love the music (1000 words. <3) and the FMVs help with my music videos. They're simply beautiful. It's nice to make it look as though Yuna's singing the song I use. =]

I disliked Dirge of Cerberus, but the FMV at the beginning rocked! Vincent, also, would be a plus. xP

(I don’t actually hate the two games below, but...)

FFX-2... Great battle system, graphics & 1,000 words...

FFXII... Beautiful graphics, the ability of never having to use Vaan or Panelo in your party, thankfully there’s a cheat code that allows you to switch Vaan out as the main character when walking through cites.

I completely agree with Nephry on this one. =]
FFVIII had an exquisite final dungeon; it's one of my favorites in the series. Tripe triad was quite a fun sidegame, and the spoils that came from it were very helpfull. ^.^
I loved the new junction system; it was very fun to mix and match GFs with different magic to make your fighters. ^.^

Good thing about X-2:
The battle system was actually pretty cool and worked well. It was nice changing jobs on the fly.

Good things about XII:
Damn gorgeous to look at. Balthier and Fran.

FFVIII
- Seifer
- The Jumbo Cactuar
- .......I think that's it xD

FFX
- Auron
- Yuna
- The Anima FMV
- Some of the music
- Sphere Grid System
- Ability to swtich characters in battle
- The way the Aeon's were represented

I actually really liked the mechanics in X, and the battle system, summons, etc...It's really the characters and the locations that ruined it for me.

Final Fantasy II
- Leila
- FMW on the PSX version.
- Princess Hilda Amano artwork.

Final Fantasy X-2:
- Dress sphere changes in combat.
- Pretty outfits >_>
- 1000 words
- Intro

Bah, thats all I can think of.
