Go Use Your Elixir!

My main problem with them is having to go through my item list to find them...takes to long and I figure forget it.
FFXII I started using items a LOT more though, I guess its because I had been playing FFXI for so long before I got used to needing them for FF games. Before FFXI I never used them.
 
Oh yes I do it, hording Elixirs and using even one makes me feel something inside me has died. I don't tend to use items generally anyways so the only times I do in when its direly needed.

Unless its FFVII then I whore out the W-Item trick to the point where it just doesn't matter. Cheatin' bastad be I :neomon:
 
I have the same problem as you, Mitsuki. For some reason I tend to keep them knowing they would come in handy later... but at the end are barely used...

I guess its things like not wanting to use a special item, like the Serpent Skin in 12 due to it being of importance later on, and bits like those that dwelve in our minds and prevent us from being impatient, and so we actually are cautious to an extent. Even though we know what an Elixir is for.
 
I used to be extremely stingy when it came to using my Elixirs, until recently I only used them for the final boss. However, now I will use them if I find a particular boss hard (where as before I wouldn't).

Megalixirs are a completely different story though, I will ONLY use them for the final few bosses.
 
I avoid using any items... If I can i'll hoard as many items as I can. I only really use potions and status effect removing items and thats only until I get the right magic to replace them. I have a slight feeling I've never ever used an elixir!
 
I always keep me stoked with 99 Potions/Hi-Potions and Tents in the older FF's since we spent a lot of times in caverns and usually there is no Crystal/Save point like the recent FF's. I only use Elixirs when in a crisis situation and i don't have any potions, or by any reason my HP/MP was all drained... Megalixir applies the same thing.
 
The only FF in which I frequently used the elixirs, mega elixirs, etc. was FFVII, especially against the weapons, since they caused me the most problems, and FFX in the arena with the last few monsters.
Other then that I rarely use them, not cause I don't want to, but because I don't need to, cause I always have healing magic and such..
 
I know what you guys mean! Every time I find an elixir I'm always like 'ZOMG! An Elixir! W00t!' They're a really convenient item and well, they're so convenient and hard to find that I usually end up not using them at all during the whole game or better said, not wanting to use them:P I always cringe in pain every time I use one since they're valuable, me thinks....

In fact, I think I barely even used one before playing Crisis Core, and even while playing that game in normal I barely even used one. Then, I gave the hard mode a shot and things were....different >_> I keep on using elixirs to replenish all the mp and ap some enemies happen to steal with their techniques. UGH! I hate the steal-all-you-mp-ap-and-flare-you-to-death combo some enemies seem to do! You can't cure yourself since you don't have mp and you can't defend yourself against flares since your AP is 0! >_<

That's when an elixir saves your butt! (or getting a DMW, like Aerith!....but that's pretty rare >.>)
