Games that make your blood boil

FFI.

The PS1 remake, although I liked it in general, frustrated me at times. Sometimes I'd be walking and BAM! Random encounter. I don't mind the random encoutners in general, just when I'm SO close to something when it happens.

FFII

The only thing that irritates me are the empty rooms. I don'tm ind that they had the empty rooms installed, but I don't see why Firion as to end up in the middle of the room if nothing's in there.

Tekken 1-3

The last stages were usually hard, and it would take ages just to pass one.

Super Adventure Island for the SNES. You're on a skateboard the whole time, it's fast, and I can never beat the f%#!ing first boss--I think I beat him once, and then I couldn't get any farther, but you CAN'T SAVE!!!! so it was ridiculously frustrating :jtc: Plus the sound effect that happens when you die/get barbecued by lava gives me the whimwhams :mokken:

The Elder Wyrm in Final Fantasy XII. It's sporefall and those godforsaken treeants infuriated me no end. I ended up just spamming Quickenings to take it out
Also Seymour Flux because of his special attacks

Without a doubt, Devil May Cry 2 has to take the cake for me.

It isn't that the game is hard. By no means!!! It's way too freaking easy!
I mean, the fun thing about DMC is that it's so friggin hard at first, right? But then you really get into it and start wiping the walls with demons and you get so pumped up and you're like "COME ON!!!!" as the demon hordes are rushing towards you because you know you can take it nothing can stop you!!!

And this game just cruelly robbed you of that satisfaction and about $20. Asshat.

In this game, just upgrade the rocket launcher. Things go *piff*. End of game. Of course, everything was ungodly easy until the very last boss battle against Despair Embodied who's like some kind of uber-powered-caffinated attack ninja squirrel of death on mana juice and steroids and you can't dodge ONE HIT.

:vikki:

And don't get me started on the character. The first game was appealing because it utterly shattered my assumptions about it -- the assumption "Oh shit, half-demon boy goes on emo soul-searching quest that will save the world. Shoot me now." But it wasn't like that. The character was most entertaining. I found myself looking forward to the next ridiculous asshatty thing he would say. Quite refreshing.

But in DMC2 they took that same character and made my greatest fears come true. AND they made that funny char into something will all the personality and charm of a boring rock. Not even and interesting rock, a boringone!

Good god. It's infuriating.

I'd also add this this list the game Soul Caliber 3. 2 words. "Ice Arena."

So I just unlocked some new splendiferous ability for the Knight class, right? (I don't know much about the game, I played it at a friends house.) Okay. My buddy is really excited, so he happily bounces up the path to battle some levle 60 uber-general chick. The arena has ice. She wakes the my character, and zing I slide clear off the far edge. Okay, restart. AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN! No blows were traded. All attacks (the 1 of them) were blocked. And yet, I die.

:vikki:

Of course, this list wouldn't be complete if I didn't make a small mention of Morrowind.

Ah, Morrowind. There is no fast travel -- you must walk EVERYWHERE or PAY for a ride on the largest map of the whole series. The magic system is broken and fails half the time. Guards are more like psionic sentinels found in StarCraft than in a medieval fantasy setting. And the cliffracers. Anyone who's played this game will know that the cliffracers (they're like flying rats, but bigger) are the worst ever-present pest in the game! I was once chased into a town when I was still low-leveled by a flock of 30 OF THEM. 30!

Screw that. I just cheated through the whole game.

Mario Kart, racing at the haunted docks :gonk: Man how impossible it seemed to beat anyone at that race-track.

Kingdom Hearts, beating Riku at Hallow Bastion :gasp: So Hard! I would scream and play for hours!

Resident Evil Zero, beating the crow beast, so friggin hard!

Racing games.... just racing games. I mean nothing pisses me off more then to be in first place for most of the race get to the end and wreak and blow it. It happens when I play Gran Turismo, Forza or hell even F-Zero. What really pisses me off about racing games is the shit I have to do to unlock cars, but the reason I keep playing those kind of games is the frustrating adrenaline rush I get when I get so close to winning and I know I can win so I sadistically keep trying!! :banghead:

Another set of games that piss me off are the Ninja Gaiden trilogy from the NES, it was one of the first games to incorporate cutscenes and dialogue in games but the gameplay was a constant mess of frustration, with respawning enemies and frustrating levels. It was innovative for the time and the music was catchy but outside of that, it's a hard trilogy.

Persona 3 Fes, It is so godamn frustrating when you die (Which happens alot). Seriously one small mistake and your hours of grinding are gone. If you dont go into battle overly prepared and with an uber strategy that will make Einstien go "lolwut?" , then your hours of grinding, watching long ass cutscenes and Social link progress is gone.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.

The character's voices progress so slowly, I can't last for more than one cutscene without getting annoyed and turning the game off. If you use text only, however, the game is much more tolerable.

Radiata Stories.

Ugh, the characters... the game just moves so slowly I don't want to get into it.

B-b-b-but the voice acting wasn't THAT bad, there were a few scenes where it was hard to hear anything (Wagon scene from Ariglyph to Kirsla). I loved everyones voices.

And the characters were Radiata stories only saving grace, i dont think the game was meant to be taken all that seriously.

Persona 3 FES. :gonk: I actually lost in the Emperor and Empress battle once. Everything going my way, the Empress nearly dead, when she casts Eerie Sound, afflicting my main character with FEAR! The Emperor uses Swift Strike for a critical hit, killing him.

And also the Reaper. Ai yai yai. Looking for the stairs despertaely, rattling chains in the background...

And the Answer almost killed me. :rage:

Rainbow Road , Star Cup, 150cc Mario Kart for the SNES. Donkey, Princess. go screw yourselves.

You have struggled to get yourself in a good position for the win. You've failed a couple of times, you're on your last life, just managed to get into second or third allowing you to win, and princess drops a mushroom, or kong a banana, or mario or luigi go frickin' invinsible whenever they want!!!!!!!!! then you get hit by everyone end up last and with 0 coins. Lots of screaming, throwing of pad. etc.....

:wacky:

TBH it's boss fights in action games that do it to me. First time I fought & beat Xaldin in KH2 my body was going MAD, my legs were all weak and I kept shivering :gonk: Tekken not so much, that just makes me go :grumpy: every time I hear my character go "Arhhh!" right when I was about to land a KO hit -__-

I couldn't think of anything until you brought up those bad Xaldin memories. FFFFFUUUUUUUUU-
I cannot remember being more mad at a video game. It also happened when you fought
Riku
in KH.

Just recently, I've gotten annoyed at retail rates on WoW. Especially if you're a clothie and can't find a good party in which to level 15.

Other than that, Soul Calibur IV. Ohhhhh, my god I can't even begin to describe how annoyed I got with the tower. Let's see....mostly any Mario title. I could easily get annoyed at Super Mario World but that doesn't keep me from enjoying it~

Yeah, the CPU always has unlimited items. I can't recall how many times I've lost because of a BS spiked shell.

I love final fantasy, Its just the random battles that really tick me off when I trying to get to someplace.

Donkey kong arcade, those traps are so hard to avoid most of the time, each level gets harder,dk(cranky kong) kidnapps Paulie(dont remember) and your mario(jumpman).it was one of the most popular arcade games.

About the traps,if you lose(which you could easily) in a far level, well you have to start all the way back in the beginning, that was a pain in the ass back then.

Donkey Kong 64- One more of tiny kongs little bananas to go, where the hell is that thing, and the donkey kong arcade part of the game was hard to beat, king kut-out would always disappear right before i would hit him.

Same as me I usually lose at the top of the levels, once I wanted to see what happens when I go near DK and then,I die! Currently I see no point of this game anymore.
