Pockets’ Suggestion thread number 2


So…I was rummaging through the game review section, trying to get a few different ideas for different things I may want to cover in a few of my own reviews (which I hope to post there). Halfway through this research project I could help but wonder why there was no section for constructive criticism. For those of us who look through these reviews there might be a thing or two we think the author’s may do better to inform us. I know the reviews are entirely opinion based, but there are different ways to elaborate on certain parts. The game reviews section doesn’t have very much activity aside from a handful of people, but a thread like this could still improve the quality of whatever growth this section may see.
 
hmm there's a section for game review XD

the gaming section seems to not be that active now days which is a shame :/
 
I like this idea. Whilst I have had the occasional bit of feedback regarding my own reviews, I think having discussion threads could be quite beneficial. As well as giving people the opportunity to CC each other's reviews, it could also be an opportunity to discuss points where people differ in opinion. This could serve to improve the activity in that section as well - after all, writing a review takes a lot of time and effort, and having CC/discussion sections for members reviews would give those members who don't have the time/can't be bothered to write a full review to have their say.

Not to mention the whole point of the section is to give members an idea as to what games are like. One opinion really doesn't give a complete enough perspective, even if said opinion is as impartial as possible. It'd also give members the chance to ask questions about specific points, or ask for further clarification.

This is a pretty good idea actually. I'm sure we could make a subforum under the game reviews called Game Reviews Discussion or something like that. :hmmm:

I don't really see any downside to this idea.
 
Thanks for suggesting it. :) I'll get to this later this afternoon when I get a chance.
 
The only downside I see is we might need to apply certain rules to the section just in case someone does use One liners/trolls/flames.. yada yada. Otherwise I see this as an excellent approach. It will give the post more credibility overall as well.
