I just made this thread to discuss and debate games or series you hate.

I'll start with the Call of Duty series.

I don't understand the widespread facination with this series. It's just another FPS shoot, cut, run macho fest. Everytime I play it it's the same thing. Every updates version, people tell me "Oh this one's the good one, you'll really like it." But I don't. Because it's the same as the last one.

And then it's the online. The online is great, and while it may be the most wonderful and appealing gaming experience since the first ball of Pong was sent forth, a game cannot be supported by online, no matter what.

"Oh, but.. but.. Black Ops has zombies! That's something new and exciting! A minigame that justifies an entire boring repetitive game! Right? Right?..."

No. If I want to play a zombie game, I'll play Dead Rising or Resident Evil or Left 4 Dead.

I don't know, I've just always hated the series.

Your thoughts?

I agree, actually I never understood the whole Call of Duty series getting all that hype. It is just another FPS just like you said, and Black Ops is by far the worse COD game ever, terrible game play, terrible storyline, terrible online play, and zombies always sucks.

A game series I hate that I never understand that anyone likes (I'll stay away from FPS, cause I don't like most of them) Assassins Creed. I played them both and it's just so boring... you "stealth" killing people, and if you don't stealth it, it's ok you can just fight and kill him anyways, and you do the same thing over and over and over. I just don't get why anyone liked it that much.

Devil May Cry 4 - This game bores the hell out of me!! I love the opening scene, but that's about it, the combat is boring, controls suck, I hate it!!

Grand Theft Auto IV. This is one of the games you know for an absolute fact that it only got 10/10 because of the hype. The driving is absolutely horrendous, the storyline bored me and it just felt like everyone other GTA title that has been released since #3. Yawn.

Red. Dead. Redemption.

I hate this game. I guess to be more specific, I hate the Single Player. Multiplayer was awesome. But the Single Player, what a waste. Basically you ride side by side on horses while you main character yells to the person next to them. Half the game is horse riding conversation. And the guy you play sounds like a horrible Bill Paxton.

The game play is fine but the voice acting and the story puts Westerns to shame. I was tolerating the game until the point where I had to gather cows and rope horses. WHO THE HELL WOULD WANT TO DO THAT? It's sooooooo lame.

To top it all off, everyone but me seemed to love this game and raved about how great it was. WTF?? Makes me sick. If not for the Multiplayer, I'd say it would have been the biggest bust of the year. But make any game play like GTA and everyone has an orgasm.

Red. Dead. Redemption.

Wow, that's... new.

Honestly, everything you're saying about the game couldn't be farther from the truth. Red Dead Redemption was a fantastic game, in nearly every way. Whatever, though.

I've recently developed some sort of spite for Mass Effect 2. I don't flat-out hate the game; I just believe Mass Effect (The original) was the superior experience. Mass Effect 2 traded out ME's quality atmosphere, universe, dialogue, exploration, role-playing, and plot for "improved combat," and while the combat was better than ME1's, it's complete trash compared to other third-person shooters (Such as Gears of War, or Uncharted, or Red Dead Redemption). I wouldn't have minded it so much if the combat improved upon third-person shooter genre staples, but really, there's no sense of escalation at all: the combat is ridiculously easy, boring and same-ish throughout, and the pace doesn't change on varying difficulty levels.

*gasps at Ahluk* I was playing that game last night! *grumble, grudge*

I will make this VERY simple.

SimPark.

Zeus.

Civilization games.

GO TO HELL, YOU GAMES. I HATE any and all city building games. They just aren't my thing. There's always that ONE little essential person that NEVER goes down that one freaking street. Or there's that fsking hobo that knocks down your entire temple to Zeus or whatever JUST AS THE LAST STATUE IS PUT INTO PLACE. Oh, and I just LOVE being bossed around by a little toad in SimPark screaming, "Biodiversity! Biodiversity!" like some kind of anti-racist lobbyist that not even the NAACP would take in.

Screw these games. Screw them very much. I'll stick with my hack 'n slash games, thankyouverymuch. When I want a crash course in economics, I'll go to school, not pick up some demented city game.

:mokken:

And DuesExLumina: My thoughts EXACTLY. How they keep making money on that franchise continues to baffle me.

Dead Rising 2.

Escort missions are too significant for sidequests. On top of that the main char walks too slowly and some of the npc's needs to be escorted to the other side of the map. Its shit.

Weapons can break..Since when can an axe made of steel break so easily even with putrid decayed zombie flesh.....:ffs:

Main char's daughter needs a medicine on a daily bases and ofcourse its rare and very expensive....

Co op isnt even splitscreen or co op at all :rage:

Combat too slow as you have only two basic hack and slash moves and 1 supermove for each weapon..BORING!

What a shit game..wasted 40 bucks on a second hand game. HATE!!!!

Sorry, just didn't get into it, liked the music though :)

Left 4 Dead 2

Just seemed like the first one, just with added equipment and levels. I still play it, I just expected much more from this game
