Well im glad its coming out on ps3 though im a bit gutted thats ita an online game. Saying that ive never played FFXI but im not really big on mass online games, id rather it just be a normal RPG. No doubt il probadly end up buying it though.
 
I'll be getting it. Aslong as there are no extra charges anywhere.

Only reason why I've never played XI is because I'm against paying for a game, then paying to actually play it every month.
 
I saw that trailer then I about crapped my pants, HOLY CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that games looks way cooler than XI :D


also I want it to be known that I am the first person in the entire world to have a Fianl Fantasy XIV set for my forums stuff

Omg What the hell Final Fantasy XIV already! Ummmm Xiii is not even out yet! But still its a pretty cool game but I would have preferred it to be an Rpg. Never played Xi so not sure if ill get it.
 
... They've honestly announced FFXIV before FFXIII is out?! *shakes head* What the hell? This is... wow. I don't really play online games much, which is probably why I didn't buy FFXI... then again, this does look MUCH better. I don't know. it's... I probably won't shell out the cash for it, but if it happened to end up given to me as a gift... I'd have to play it. I mean, it'd be rude otherwise *shifty eyes*

I still think this is insane :D

I'm sorta glad they've announced FFXIV now, since it means there won't be months of speculation after FFXIII is released. I'm pleased it's a PS3 exclusive, although I'm worried about subscription charges, as they could really put me off the game. Still, it looks like 2010 will be a huge year for Final Fantasy ^^
 
An MMORPG?!What is Square Enix thinking turning the game into MMO game? We already had FFXI now make me a Final Fantasy game!

thats just it though teh real FF game is going to be XIII, XIV seems to be like a next gen XI, for those of use tired of XI's crappy graphics. then XV will pick up again as a real game
 
Ryan won't be pleased he didn't get to announce this.
I'm a little surprised that SE are announcing that XIV will be an online MMO and that it will ne PS3 exclusive. They're putting a lot of trust in Sony.
I'd rather have XIV as normal RPG with an option of online play, rather than it being an MMO.
They're trying to ensure their safety I guess by appealing to a wider market, I don't see the wisdom in doing it they way they're doing it, but I don't work for SE, and I'm unlikely to ever work for them either:monster:
 
Well this is indeed a pleasant surprise. It's hard to believe that it will be released next year. I mean, we only just found out about its existence and we already have a release date, this isn't like SE at all.

As for the game itself, it looks pretty good. I hope it stays true to the PS3's tradition of free online gaming though. Otherwise, I'm not sure if I will bother getting it.
 
I have to say I was impressed with the video, and also SE's ability to keep production so well hidden!

I think that onlining gaming is ever on the increase and that's a large market that SE want to tap into. The recent sucess of other online games has been too much to ignore, however if there will be subscriptions this will put people off, as some will not want to keep adding to the cost of playing the game.

I have never really played online games before, (only on friend's PS3's) but I think if I get a Ps3, I would have to see what this game was like.
 
Hmm . . . it's a good thing it's on PC, now I can buy it without problems, though I don't think I ever played an online game other than Runescape xD though I'm buying it for sure.
 
I kinda suspect that this was not supposed to be Final Fantasy XIV originally, but that the title was tagged onto the project at a more recent date. Probably very much encouraged by Sony. Final Fantasy XI however was a massive letdown with utterly dreadful customer support, so I am not too excited about this.
 
LOL @ everybody i the audience creaming their pants when it was announced.

I've never really been into MMORPG's, though this game looks mighty tempting.

It was really the right time to announce a new MMORPG for FF-fans!
FFXI Online was first released in 2001 in Japan, and 2003 rest of the world. FFXI Online is already a game that has been out for a quite long time and mmorpgs that are out that long will just lose players till the end because you'll get very bored =/ ...

I just can't wait for this game! Never been so much excited to a game before in my life! :D
