Final Fantasy XIII gets 70% in PSM3

PSM3’s latest issue has apparently given Final Fantasy XIII a 70 percent review score.

Uh-oh.

It’s unknown if the review’s for a Japanese import, or if it’s for the western version. Find the rest of the scores over at the EU PS Forums, including an 88 percent mark for Heavy Rain.

FFXIII is out on March 9 in the west for PS3 and 360, with a Chinese release confirmed earlier for May.

I know, this shocked me as well when I first saw this! According to the comments, it says it was a Japanese import review, but I'm not sure how accurate this is.

It hasn't been a great PSM3 day for PS3 reviews:

• Heavy Rain - 88%
• Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days (PSP) - 85%
• Dante's Inferno - 80%
• Undead Knights (PSP) - 79%
• MX vs ATV Reflex - 74%
• MAG - 73%
• Final Fantasy XIII - 70%
• Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (PSP) - 65%
• Last Rebellion - 61%
• Madden NFL Arcade - 58%
• Guitar Hero Van Halen - 40%
• Vancouver 2010 - 35%

Even the novel Heavy Rain has failed to hit the 90% and MAG is only 73%. Last Rebellion has done worse than FFXIII as well. It's worrying that the things I have mentioned in this paragraph are PS3 exclusives.

Ah, then again this is PSM3. I haven't read their magazine before, but you don't know how credible their reviews are.

It doesn't particularly bother me that FFXIII hasn't had the amazing reviews that people expect since at the end of the day I'm going to buy in regardless as are millions of other people. It'd be nice to see some 9/10s but eh, whatever.

I'm surprised at the Heavy Rain rating though give it's got a lot of 9/10 and 10/10 elsewhere
