I just came up with a great idea! So what if the next Final Fantasy was virtual reality. You actually got to physically control your charecter, interact with the townspeople, battle enemies.
What do you think?

I think the majority of people would get ripped to shreds by wolves, absorbed into flans, or blasted to pieces by spells that were meant for enemies.

The problem with virtual reality is to what point does it become impractical? When someone comes home from a long day at school or work do they really want to strap themselves in (or however you'd do it) and subject themselves to more physical exertion?

Not only that but the problem with virtual reality (and even Wii motion controls to an extent) is that most gamers and people in general can't do what the protagonist in a game can or is designed to.

You'd never win a challenging duel. How many people know how to wield a sword? Most can't even sprint on the spot for more than 20 seconds.

It would be Awesome to fight in VR , as for making mistakes in the game reality that happens in the menu controlled games FF its just human nature to make mistake, it would not be that bigger deal or ruin the game.

In any reality involving humans would be flawed in its very nature. Maybe its not so far in the future and will be fun too play IMO.

I want to try jumping off a cliff.

That or peek up someone's skirt ^.^

God that will be hectic.

But seriously, i prefer neural link than actual VR where i have to move to control character. I get slaughtered with wii fit already. This way, our nerves are stimulated almost the same as VR.

Yeah! that would be great!

And yet another Example of how humans can screw up any environment they create or added to, not that every action in the reality would reckless., anything that went wrong would or could rectified.

You better be careful TipsyNaruto your post, your post makes sound like a lazy pervert:grin:lol

Edit:lol And my response makes me sound the same!

Heh. Not gonna deny it though. But seriously, im a power gamer plus achievement whore. I demand 100% or as close to as possible, especially for JRPG. I would not want to trawl through hours of gaming having to move like in real life. Too draining.

Power gamer who sits on there ass!

Just the way it should be.....no walking around like shleps for us Naruto:)

Striking a balance between exercise and gaming is a not that hard, its when you stuff your face all the time is when it gets Nasty. If you maintain a moderate intake of food thats healthy vs food thats detrimental Then the WII should not be necessary.

Its a cliche but there it is.

surpisingly, i only weigh 57 and i eat a fair amount. But i guess i do exercise enough to not become one of those guys from America (you know those pics). I guess some motion would be good. If not, we then just become like this movie i watched recently, where everyone had a fake body and sat a t home while their bodies went out to play.

So i guess VR FF would deter people from doing that. people would get sick of moving soo much and take a break and do something else.

I agree it would be fun, but after a day of working the last thing I wanna do is strap in and go and kick somethings arse pysically. Plus Id get my grandparents yelling at me to stop jumping about lol when Im dodging attacks XD Nice idea, but its got cons as well as pros.

Sounds like a sweet idea, but i think technically were a long way off of that happening, well, having it actually mimic reality, were a ways off of it being that, but i hope its in my life time
