Final Fantasy IX: The Fall of Mages RP

The Dwarf broke Darkrul's focus on the spell, as he felt the thud upon his back knocking the chaos staff from his grasp, he laughed loudly as the dwarf clung to his back as he spotted a man upon the wall who seemed to be barking orders...

"Well dwarf at least you get to see a close up view...as you helplessly watch this man DIE!" he uttered as he unsheathed the mighty sword of chaos and launched himself at the man who appeared to be in the middle of a group of soldiers firing upon him...

"Blood for blood eh comrade? Wuuuhahahaha!!" He mocked as he brought the mighty sword forwards and plunged it into the mans chest glaring into his eyes as if to be watching for the mans soul to leave his body the soldiers around him tried to hack away at the behemoth but the iron swords could not pierce his dragonscale like flesh as he merely stood and watched as the sword drank deep on the blood of the mortally wounded man...

"So dwarf..how does it feel? how does it feel to know that no matter what you do...I will be your undoing? WuuuAAAA Hahahahaha!!!"
 
Dori somehow saw that the fall did have some kind of setback, but not the effect he was hoping for. The landing was more painful than he though.He damaged his head badly. He could not think straight, far from hearing correctly.He did managed to hear something about close up and DIE...but his vision was too weak to see also. He tried to get back on his feet, he managed but the legs were full of pain.

Defence form time went out, and his skin turned into normal. The second hes vision came back he noticed how that beast was unseathing his sword" Is this the end...." he was thinking, but suddenly that thing launched into the lines of men and killed one shooter.

Seeing the dropping blood from that man and the laugh of that monster, reminded him the battle back home, when everybody died, trying to defend there house and families.
He put his head into his hands. The pain, the sorrow, the nonstop killing, his fathers dying face, all those came back at him. " Blood for blood" he heard than and in that moment something happened in him.

He was losing control of his mind and body. His hands started shaking, his legs became numb, but he didn´t fall down, His vision slowly turned in black, he started to breath in and out loudly, foam came out of his mouth and then he heard "So dwarf..how does it feel? how does it feel to know that no matter what you do...I will be your undoing? WuuuAAAA Hahahahaha!!!"

"COME BACK HERE.... I AINT FINISHED WITH YOU" he yelled, but his voice has changed deeper. His body started growing into same height as a full grown man. Muscles became bigger and stronger. His eyes turned into red and so did his skin. He then took up his mace with one hand and told" once more "DEFENCE FORM" he then yelled.

His skin turned into dark red." NOW COME AND FEEL THE FURY AND POWER OF THE DWARF..." he yelled at Darkrul and charged at him in high speed with mace on one hand and the fist prepared in other hand. Dori wasn´t able to control this berserk, it had a mind of its own

That was not Dori anymore. He turned into the Berserk dwarf now, the most fierced thing among dwarves. It was even forbidden to use such a thing, because the one cannot control himself and he don´t make a difference among friends and foes, also it is harming his mind.


OOC: this berserk mode is temporarily, it just appears when the dwarf is angry and on lot of pain.

Darkrul grinned grimly as he realised he had sent the dwarf into a rampage, this was something he could use to his advantage, but to do so he had to act quickly, dragging the Chaos blade from the chest of the fallen soldier he turned his attentions back to the group on the wall...

"Well Dwarf if you want me, your going to have to come and get me" he taunted as he flapped his wings and moved over to the group on the wall, rushing at the nearest to him with a crashing swing of the mighty Chaos Sword.

Alexis and Alexandros were a little un-nerved by the sheer power of the Chaos bound monster that Darkrul had given to himself, and seem to be a little slow to act...but they had to do something or this monster was going to decimate most of the Alexandrian army without any contention...

As the mighty Chaos Sword was brought down, Alexis stepped in the way of its intended target and brought up her illuminati and skillfully deflected the blade guiding it away from its intended target...

"My king, wouldnt it be safer for you if you were away from this battle?" Alexandros mentioned as she stepped out from behind Alexis next to the king..."Dont worry we will handle things here, you worry about yourself" she continued as both Alexis and Alexandros began to engage the behemoth with skillful and syncronised weapon swings and movements...
 
OOC: Due to slowness, I'll advance on the story.

IC: Tina headed straight for where the battle was going to take place. When she got to the West Wall she saw Darkrul for the first time. Taking up position behind a burned out building, she tried to aim her rifle at Darkrul's head, but he was moving so fast, she was unable to even catch up with him. Eventually, when his sword came across a holy knight's shield, she was able to aim for the head, and fire, hoping that that would kill him quick.
 
((OOC: Apologies for the slowness. My rate of activity should be considerably low, though still possible to keep the posts to this role play going. ))

Rushing over to Tina's side, Luna hurriedly summoned her weapons. The headache had subsided with the short rest they had. Or rather, whatever healed their wounds must have removed the scourge in her head as well. Calling forth her trusty Mithril Spear, she tossed it at an enemy approaching Tina's position.

"Hm. I've got your back covered, I suppose." Luna muttered, her eyes darting around the exit of the building. If there would be an enemy that showed up at that exit, he wouldn't live long enough to raise his weapon. Indeed, this was proven as the spear she tossed at the enemy retracted, piercing through another soldier at the exit, returning to Luna's side.

Collapsing in a heap, the soldier could only groan, and die, just like most of the other soldiers in the battlefield. Luna's cold, steely eyes did not stay on the corpse for long. Immediately, they were returned into a state of frenzy, looking around the exit carefully.

Carlos - What?

The spells released by Darkrul flew towards his companions and many fell. One after another until something small, reminding a dwarf, charged at the enemy. And then it grew and grew, making Darkrul to lose concentration. But from absolutely nowhere, a survivor of Ispen's troops had shot at him.

'' Darn he ...'' Carlos muttered while the bullet barely missed him. Next moment, the Ispen man was dead, cut in to pieces by the king. Carlos turned around and started running towards his king, but the very same moment king disappeared.

'' Eh ... ?'' Carlos was surprised and astonished, but he was sure that the king had a good reason to leave the battlefield.

'' Sire ... sire!'' A familiar voice filled the air.

'' Yes?'' Carlos asked while a young looking soldier had made his way towards him.

'' King ordered you to fall back immediately.'' The young one continued. Carlos smiled and headed towards a staircase leading down from the wall.

'' Hey there!'' Carlos shouted to Tina and Luna half a minute later, when he had made his way to the street next to the wall.

'' It's nice to see you healthy Luna. Oh and good luck with the battle!'' Carlos'es voice was as positive and happy as it always had been. Yet he looked now a lot more like a true knight. Maybe because of his new armor, or maybe because the responsibilities he had.
 
Tina turned around and saw 2 enemy soldiers impaled by a spear. Luna said, "Hm. I've got your back covered, I suppose." which Tina responded, "Thanks, friend." Suddenly, someone shouted, ''Hey there!'' Tina then turned around to see Carlos in shining armor. "Well, ain't that some armor you got there." Tina said sarcastically. "Well, at least your living up in the world. Take care of yourself out here, OK Carlos?"
 
Darkrul suddenly felt an intense pain as he was attempting to focus on the sisters as they attempted to overwelm him with lightning fast strikes of there weapons, he reached up and realised there was blood coming from the top of his head, where the bullet had struck....

"GRRRRRR No NO NO NO!! you WILL NOT beat me!!" He bellowed as he was becoming increasingly angry, his eyes burning with hatred...

"Oh shut up you big cry baby and take your medicine...here catch!" Alexandros quipped at Darkrul as his attention had been withdrawn and threw her lance at him, impaling him in the chest and electrifying him....

"NrghRGAHHH...that isn't supposed to happen....Dammit!" He continued as he grabbed hold of the spear and yanked it free, blood gushing from the wound before touching it with his hand and sealing it...the more frustrated and Angry he became, the more demonic his features became and the deeper his voice became...the lance pushed him over the edge....

"Yesssss....that was exactly what was supposed to happen....Prepare to die Pitiful Mortals, I am Chaos and My wrath will be your eternal damnation!!" The deepened voice echoed as Darkrul had lost all control and Chaos had taken full mental and physical control of the body, it was if Chaos had stepped forth from his realm and preparing to destroy this one..

"Not good...not good at all, Any Idea's Alexia?" Alexandro's remarked to her sister as the realisation dawned on them that they were now fighting a manifestation of Chaos himself

"Just one....Get off the damn wall!!" Alexis quickly replied as she grabbed her sisters arm and jumped from the wall as the Mighty Chaos sword came crashing down where they had been formally stood...

Making Haste:

"Were almost there hold on tight" Queen Alshi remarked to Vivius as the Great Griffons of Granseal began to soar majestically through the skies and Alexandria became a silloutte in the horizon

As Alexandria began to come properly into focus they could see bodies and debrit, fires burning rampantly and in the centre of the destruction a Great Horned Behemoth that seemed to be somewhat responsible for it...

"By Shiva....Darkrul...what have you done....what have you become...." Queen Alshi remarked as she quickly dawned on the painful truth that the Horned Demon was none other than her former lover, and father of there child...

"I guess I have no choice....Griffon Knights ENGAGE the enemy!" Queen Alshi yelled, at her beck and call a grand horn sounded that rang out across the skies reaching the furthest reaches of the valley, not a living thing would mistake the sound....a sound that had seemingly passed into legend....The Horn Of Granseal had been sounded and The Griffon Knights had arrived to assist Alexandria in its Darkest hour....

Vivius - The true power of the legend!

'' Alshi ... good luck!'' Vivius whispered and smiled to the pulchritudinous queen. Slowly, he moved his gaze towards Alexandria and sighed. The situation was terrible. The once beautiful city was in flames, citizens were running for their lives and on the wall, a demon like creature was rampaging. And then, Vivius disappeared.

'' Chaos .... I'm sorry, but I can't let you to destroy this!'' He shouted with deafening voice. Vivius was in front of the beast, his hands raised and ready to fight.

'' Defend the city .... barrier of Ultima!'' Vivius whispered an eye blink later. And then, energy waves burst out from the ground and soon, only second later, a huge magical barrier was surrounding the city. Only the wall was left out from the barrier, so the ones on it could continue the fight against the beast. Vivius himself fell to his knees. That kind of barrier, it drained him empty. Not being able to move, not being able to think. But still, he put his last power in to the following words.

'' Alexandros ... take care of him now!'' It was the voice of Vivius in the mind of Alexandros. Vivius collapsed.

OOC: I expect that everyone are outside of the barrier :D Oh and darky, ya can't destroy that barrier :)

Seeing the beast flying away, Dori started to scream at him and jumped onto the wall, trying to chase him" COME BACK YOU COWARD... I WANT TO KILL YOU.... ". Dori started to clean his way to him, hitting, pushing and throwing the soldiers of his way" GET OUT OF MY WAY YOU WEAKLINGS...." His eyes were only on Darkrul. Suddenly he saw how Darkrul stopped and started fighting with someones and noticed how his voice was getting deeper and those who fought at him were fleeing" GOOD...HE IS MY PREY... " he suddelny felt excitment and was rushing at him. A barrier suddelny appeared at his side, but it was too minor thing to him, because the only thing he wanted, was to kill Darkrul. he then appeared at his back and started to swing his hammer brutaly.

A magical barrier sealed Darkrul, sealing Tina with the knights, and Darkrul. She was lucky to have hit Darkrul in the back of the head, throwing him off his game. Unfortunately, her attack, nor Alexandros's lance thrust was able to do him in. Instead, it was as if it did not phase him. "Damn, he's not going down!" Tina said angrily as he aimed again at Darkrul, who had just become Chaos, she fired 3 rounds in quick sucession at Darkrul. "Come on, this had better injure him." Tina said quietly.
 
Stumbling over beside Tina, Luna furiously clawed back onto her feet. While she had no idea who called the barrier around them, she knew very well it wouldn't matter, especially when she is trapped with their current enemy. Even Carlos' earlier appearance in his new shiny armor didn't take her focus away from the matter at hand.

The cacophony of voices persisted- just one of the many characteristics of war. Dashing over to get into closer proximity of Chaos, Luna's weapons danced around the girl menacingly. Yet, however menacing they may seem, it pales in comparison to the enemy she faced.

Nevertheless, the girl wasn't planning on giving in, despite seeing him crush a wall close by. She jabbed at Chaos, hoping to do some harm to him.
 
Under the joint onslaught Chaos began to buckle, stumbling back in pain and writhing in agony, the Griffon Knights had also joined the fight from the skies leaping high into the air from there mighty Griffons and crashing down upon the shoulders of the beast with there lances...The power of Chaos began to wane as the dwarves hammer blows struck true knocking the beast to his knees and as one of the bullets struck him in the eyes...

Alexandros and Alexis lept towards the beast and began to unleash a brutal onslaught, Alexis struck a deep wound across the chest of Chaos with the Illuminati and Alexandros struck him around the throat with the electrical tendril from the whip..

The beast groaned in agony as he began to collapse, the barrier that had been errected halting him from reaching his goal as energies gushed from within him, although Chaos was about to fall...the presence of Darkrul was not ready to be defeated...

"You want to fight me? It will be on my grounds on my terms from now on...SHADOW RIFT!!" The Voice of Darkrul yelled from within as the Beast of Chaos became engulfed in Shadow and began disperse, Darkrul emerging from within channelling everything he had and creating a Giant Vortex of Shadow that began to pull him and everyone on the wall through space and time into a different realm....

As the fell through the portal Alexis and Alexandros moved over to Queen Alshi and helped her to her feet while searched there surroundings, glancing over the others to make sure they were ok...

"Where are we?" Alexandros asked the Queen...

"Were in a part of the Realm of the Guardian forces....Welcome to the Granseal magic academy...I guess" She replied as she recalled the eery and shadowy surroundings being that of the old magic academy where Darkrul had first fallen to insanity and came to power as the Black Waltz Lord

"Well well well....if it isnt Queen Alshi....the bitch who betrayed me, you made me think you were dead but today I shall make it so it wont be mistaken in my mind ever again" Darkrul mentioned as he hovered nearby in the centre of the academies grounds

"You see this place grants me infinite power, Chaos was nothing more than a vessel of my true power, he was a pawn in my plan....in a few hours Alexandria shall be destroyed by the very rift you came here through, it shall become part of this realm and everyone within will become my eternally bound slaves" He continued as dark energies pulsed around his body, as he began to flash erratically with red and gold, as he had gone into trance.

"So come on, its time for me to rectify the mistake, Starting with you, pathetic children of Alexander...now I will give you a true taste of my powers WuhAHAHAHAHA!!!" Darkrul mocked as he lowered himself to the ground and shifted into a mage dueling stance waiting for the party to make there first move....

[OOC: I ended part 1 realtively quickly, as part 2 and 3 are the true battle with Trance Darkrul, prepare for one tough battle xD]

Tina fell into a portal of darkness just like the children of Alexander and the Queen of Granseal. She continued falling until she landed on her feet at Granseal Academy, facing Darkrul's back. She realized that she had one bullet left and the fight would be forced into close combat, against a seemingly unpredictable opponent. Pulling her Mage Masher bayonet out of her holster she would have to drop her gun and try to weave through Chaos's attacks in an attempt to take him out. Tina said to Darkrul, "Looks like you have some relationship issues, sucks that you don't know how to treat a woman right." Putting her gun down, she was waiting for Darkrul to be so annoyed that he wouls have to try and attack her.

OOC: In other words, I just flip off a God, so sue me.
 


"Foolish Whelp! Taste the powers of Darkness!! SHADOW FLAME!!" Darkrul muttered as he extended his taloned hand and a burst of Shadow engulfed with in licking flames shot out towards its intended target

He then quickly turned to face Alexis who had her Illuminati drawn...

"Thats it I'm taking this bastard down!!" She yelled as she charged at him..

"Alexis NO!" Alexandros yelled in vein as her sister rushed towards Darkrul

"Hmmph...DARK ERRUPTION!!" Darkrul retorted swinging his arms out in an arc creating a powerful dark shockwave that came out from around him knocking Alexis up into the Air

"CAGE OF DARK FLAME" Darkrul continued as he waved his hand in the air creating a shadowy cage that quickly engulfed and imprisoned the now helpless Alexis in midair, unable to do anything about it, even with her powers as a guardian force...it seemed that Darkrul wasn't just boasting...his powers really were intensley magnified here and she began to worry they may have bitten off a lot more they could chew against this maniac...

[OOC: he isnt Chaos anymore, he is back in his Black Waltz lord form, but the Shadowy ruins of the Academy grant him a LOT of power, within this realm hes the 3rd most powerful entity in the RP universe at this point in time :P, only Vivius and Garland II are more powerful]

While swinging his hammer, Dori suddenly felt that something strong is pulling him towards Darkrul" WHAT THE FUCK...WHAT´S HAPPENING" he though and in next moment he was falling. he landed little far from Darkrul s right side. " Another magic trick....those things are about to annoy me" he was thinking. Seeing Darkrul and others, who were fighting with him, he then realised that he wasn´t the only lucky one.
He then took his hammer and noticed that it was turning back into sharp two side axe. " So thats the end of this part...should have read the book when I had the time" he then was thinking, " Okay Darkrul it about time to end this bullshit right here and right now" he managed to tell it in normal voice. It was a surprise to him. He then noticed that he was slowly turning back into normal dwarf and alos the defence mode has ended."Shit... I have to hurry.. before it gets too difficult" he then said nervously.
without any longer waiting, he then again charged at Darkrul, with the little power he had left from the berserk mode.

 
"Stupid dwarf, I guess your little brain cant comprehend the power I wield here, can you not see what I've just done to a GUARDIAN force??...Fine So be it VOLT SCOURGE!" With those words a burst of lightning shot from Darkrul's taloned hand followed by a concusive bolt of Dark energy hoping to shock the dwarf out of his Berserk mode and knock him backwards, halting his advance..

Meanwhile Alshi watched on as the events unfold in front of her very eyes in horror...she knew what she had to do, but couldnt help but feel reluctant, as she looked down at the engagement ring that was danging from her neck upon a gold chain a tear dropped from her eye....

"Why?...Why did it have to come to this....Why cant I stop loving you despite what you have become?...Why are you doing this?..." she muttered to herself under her breath trying to comprehend what Darkrul had come, what he was doing and what he planned to do in future...

She continued to watch on with reluctance as the allies struggled under Darkrul's sickening and dark powers....

"Because you did this to me! You betrayed me! YOU DID THIS!!" Darkrul shouted at her as he continued to battle as if he had been peering into her mind as he fought with against her allies...

"No....its not my fault....It cant be..." She replied as tears continued to stream down her face as she reluctantly watched on in terror as the fight drew on...
