Final Fantasy IX: The Fall of Mages RP

When the time bubble ended, Korga felt somehow happy. At the first he seemed to managed to hit garland...But seconds later when it became clear that it was an illusion, he turned gold again. Then he heard voice from his back and felt the cold steel on his skin...The feeling he has forgotten on many years time.

Then all went bright. He looked up and saw a meteor." Old school" mumbled Korga with a smile on his face. P.O.R.T.A.L. he then said. a big circle on top of him was spinning, creating a whirlind inside. Korga searched for Garland. he noticed him from an distance and then created another one on top of Garland. "You have learned some interesting old tricks Lucy"

The fire was going to enter the portal soon and Garland was going to be hit by his own magic. But unfortunately for Korga, his enemy was no weakling. The very moment the fire entered first portal, the second changed its location. No longer was it above Garland, but above Korga.

'' Welcome to my world, Gandalf the grey!'' The voice, it was deafening as usually. But there was something else that was different. It was the battleground. No longer where there mountains or the towers of Alexandria around. Just a lonely field in a middle of nowhere with two old enemies standing there. And the older one, a dwarf, was going to be hit by the spell.

Korga noticed that the second portal position changed, but it was too late to cast another one" Eh" he said and then the meteor hit the ground. The blast was huge and massive.
Some seconds later, all the fire that came from the blast and from the meteor started to take human forms" Its warm" said Korga, while his voice echod all over the place. He was nowhere and yet his voice seemed to come everywhere" Lets see how well you can fight against fire and mother earth" His voice again echod. All the fire parts that looked like men started to rush forward garland in hundreds of them.

'' HAhahahaha!'' He was laughing like a maniac. And all of a sudden, he stopped.

'' You don't get it don't you?'' Said the man while the first fire attacks reached him. It seemed as he was 100% unaffected.

'' You can't hit something what's not real. Yet you amuse me, truly amuse. Frozen Death!'' Muttered the man. Slowly, it got cold. Unbearably cold.

'' How are you going to kill me if you can't reach me?'' Every single man made from fire will disappear the very moment they reach the frozen death around Garland. And yet the aura was growing and growing, covering more and more.

OOC: The temperature is 0 K a.k.a -273,15 by Celsius or something :D Which means none of the particles can move in there.

OOC: Yeah, I know. And the fact that somehow Solid has an idea is making me wary of what we are gonna do in Daguerro.

IC: “Let us hurry then. It certainly wouldn’t be nice to encounter another enemy here.” Tina heard Luna said, and she nodded, before the rhino started moving towards Daguerro.

After traveling several miles across the barren landscape, the pair reached the walled city of Daguerro. In order to not raise suspicion, they had to release the rhino at the gates and try to disguise themselves in order to make their way in.

OOC: Yeah....I need help on how to disguise Solidjuss.... :hmmm:

Korga felt how the cold aura was growing." Nothing works. All the magic I have made, He managed to counter them automatically." Korga though to himself and started to think back." He told me, welcome to my world, and he managed to move my portal. All my attacks that should have hit him, he managed somehow to create illusions of them." Korga then felt the ice that grew everywhere" But how come its cold?" Korga then closed his eyes T.R.U.T.H. Korga saw how he was just standing and stared at Garland and back at him was Tot." That son of a bitch.....But when he managed to do the illusion...Tot attack seemed real enough"

HE opened his eyes again. H.E.D.G.E.H.O.G. he yelled. The ground started to shake tremendously and in next moment spears came from then ground. Then a crack opened from the earth and Korga jumped out and was aiming his staff at garland. The staff turned into also into spear. He closed his eyes and prepared himself for an impact

'' Guess that Amarus didn't tell me the true secret behind this trick ... and now when he is dead, there's no way to learn the truth.'' Garland the II seemed kind of disappointed, yet his gaze reflected no emotions.

'' Rune magic, what a lovely thing.'' He muttered and dodged the spears. And then, he was facing Korga who was aiming at him with a spear.

'' Smart ... having eyes closed means you can't see illusions. But it also means you can't hit me with 100% accuracy.'' Garland unseated his sword while he dash to left with just enough speed to avoid Korga's attack. Instantly, he turned around and slashed with his sword, hoping to hit Korga's back.

OOC: Strigon, I might have something waiting for you in Daguerro :D

"Eh" Korga laughed secretly. After he attacked he sat down and said quietly" Thanks to rune magic, If I have understand that I am in Illusion then..." The sword hit him. If Garland was hoping for an correct hit, then he should be disappointed. The sword went right through Korga. He was air. Korga shake his head and opened his eyes" ...Then I can release myself from it" He was looking around the area. Everything was exactly before they started to fight.

Korga then fell to his knees and started to pant. With one hand he hold his head and with another his staff" Damn...this trick took a lot of energy" and hi gazed at garland ho was still standing still. Korga rose up " Now lets continue our fight for real" and prepared his staff for an attack. He struck it to the land and yelled R.O.C.K.F.A.L.L. The land started to shake and a lot of stones flied up and came down in high speed on garland.

((OOC: Here goes))

Now, there arose the problem of disguising themselves. Unfortunately for the two, they hadn’t any change of clothes, and brazenly strutting in with weapons in arm- at least, for Tina- would be foolhardy. What could they do then? Crossing her arms over her chest, she could only sigh as she wondered.

A sound gave her the answers that she needed. It came from a wagon approaching the two. Peering over to the wagon, the idea came to mind. “Hey, let’s hijack that wagon over there. We can pretend to be some kind of merchants intending to get into the city!”

Without waiting for Tina’s response, Luna went over to block the path of the wagon. The merchant on the wagon got off the wagon; ready to swear at the girl when Luna knocked him out with one roundhouse kick. The kick got him square in the face and sent him rolling out of the way, out cold.

“Problem solved!” She muttered, as she got onto the wagon and waved Tina over.

OOC: Problem solved alright...

IC:
“Hey, let’s hijack that wagon over there. We can pretend to be some kind of merchants intending to get into the city!”

As soon as Tina was about to give a response, Luna came down and knocked out the merchant in fell swoop, waving over to Tina, she then thought, "Well, that's nice."

Coming off the rhino, she entered the wagon, and took the horses, and whatever the merchant was carrying into Daguerro. The soldiers inspected the passengers as well as their cargo, and believed that they were not doing anything suspicious.

Luna only allowed herself the snide grin as soon as they were out of the Guard’s sight. It was pleasing to sneak past someone in this manner. Nevertheless, the conclusion of this first problem led to another.

Daguerro was a city in a state she hadn’t been expecting. It was dark, and seemed rather rural if not for the fortress at the furthest end of the city. Everywhere, there were beggars begging for the cash they needed to last the day. Worse still, there was the occasional sight of thieves blatantly stealing in public then getting chased by the victim. Pickpockets were a more common sight, however.

All in all, Luna was aghast as she whipped the horses to hasten their pace. The wagon moved along speedily, bringing more sights of this city to her. Deeper into the city, slaves outnumbered the beggars and thieves outside. Forced to perform laborious duties by the cruel slave masters, they were all loaded with a seemingly heavy sack as they moved along.

There was a stench of blood, sweat, and something rotten in the air, but in a city like this, Luna was not exactly surprised. It’s people were already in a state this pathetic. It became almost a certainty that the cleanliness of the city, which has most of its buildings undergoing construction, would be neglected.

Luna had remained silent for most of the ride into the city, and finally spoke as she reigned in the horses to stop. “Hey, Tina. We shouldn’t stay in this city for long…”

Final Fantasy IX OST-Memoria

After entering the Daguerran stronghold, Tina noticed the dark atmosphere, the slaves and their masters, the beggers and the soldiers, as if this was the eventual result of modernization. Thieves had to steal to make ends meet, and slaves where whipped constantly. Performing menial labours for their leaders.

"I've never liked coming to this city, even after working here as a mercenary, I've never liked how they've treated their people. But I never did voice my opinion about this place. As a merc, I've always have to remember to keep my mouth quiet and forget, but it's like I can never seem to forget what they do here."

“Hey, Tina. We shouldn’t stay in this city for long…”

Tina responded, "I know, the sooner we're out of this wretched city, the better."

With that, Tina took control of the reins and started heading towards the center of the city, the Fortress where they keep all of their airships. "Luna, the center of the city is where they store all of their airships, if we can steal one, we can head back to Alexandria."

"Luna, the center of the city is where they store all of their airships, if we can steal one, we can head back to Alexandria."

Nodding vigorously, the petite girl expressed her immediate agreement. So long they could be out of this dreaded city, no method seems ridiculous. The putrid stench in the air lingering about only encouraged her desire to leave. Still, it was clear that stealing an airship would not be child’s play.

With that in mind, she lowered her voice to a barely audible whisper. “So, what shall we do next?” She began. “You know we may not be able to pilot an airship by ourselves.”

The wagon continued on it’s way, slowly approaching the center of the city. It was here where all the slaves converged. In order to ensure their airships were in tip-top condition, it was important that maintenance was constantly guaranteed everyday. At least, that was what Luna thought.

All these were kept within the great fortress that Luna had seen when the two had first entered the city. That said, it was impossible for Luna to actually know what exactly the slaves were doing. Nevertheless, that was not as important as opposed to the plan they may soon be executing.

“Do you even know how the fortress is like?”

This question came almost instinctively. Tina may be a seasoned mercenary, but Luna was not. It would hence be best if the two were to plan out their subsequent routes carefully before making their moves. It didn’t help that they were deep behind enemy lines. One wrong move may cost them dearly.

Tina stopped the wagon near an inn at the center of town while Luna was barraging her with questions, after Luna said, “Do you even know how the fortress is like?” Tina said, "I know we need to plan accordingly for this, I have not entered the fortress itself, but I know two things about it, that they have airships within the fortress, and because of the Daguerran King's always traveling to god knows where, guards only patrol the inside of the fortress as well as all entryways. Only slaves are allowed in." But that only helps in getting in. Tina realizes that in order to find where the two females are looking for, they will need a map.

It certainly doesn’t help to know that Tina herself was not well informed about the directions. Furthermore, the information she knew was probably not going to be enough to ensure a higher probability of success. As much as Luna was intent on leaving the city, she was certain she wanted to do it in the safest way possible.

Still, this was no reason to blame Tina for everything. She herself had no knowledge of the city. There was probably no right for her to accuse Tina.

Sighing softly to herself, she could only shrug as she glanced over at the inn. There was one idea that floated about in the depths of her mind, and having contemplated it for a while when Tina suggested the idea, she decided to voice it out.

“Hey, since you said that only slaves are allowed in… Why don’t we get a slave to help us? We could use an additional hand and guide. In exchange, what we could give is protection and freedom.”

No doubt, this seems like the next most obvious course of action the two should take. The only problem was getting a slave that could be trusted. Who knew if the slave they called in turned traitor? The outcome would be disastrous, and something Luna would rather not have.

“Hey, since you said that only slaves are allowed in… Why don’t we get a slave to help us? We could use an additional hand and guide. In exchange, what we could give is protection and freedom.” Tina responded to Luna, "That is the obvious course of action...the slaves would want their freedom no doubt, and this would severely hurt Daguerro's capacity to fight in the war, but we cannot afford to trust them until after we're out of here."

Tina looked to see if there was anyone in the inn before stepping out, "If there's one thing I learned throughout my life, is that 'you have to trust someone in order to be betrayed.'"
