FFIV - Worth Getting?

Has a very underrated story in my opinion and I think the tragedy in this game was more upsetting to me than FFVII. If you want to play a game that has a better story then some of today's RPG's, then this is definitely worth getting.

Of course it is, I like the story, the characters, although the graphics weren't that great even for that time.

This game has a deeper story, you know what I mean, that kind of story that makes you wonder the whole day about what could happen next :D

Completely worth it, but it would be better to wait for the DS version, unless you have enough money ;)

Also the first Final Fantasy game I've ever touched. Great game, man..! (Don't expect too much out of the graphics though, i suppose, haha )

Yup... if you can wait for the DS version to come out in America, pick it up.

It's amazing.

I think If I would have played this game the year is was released, it would have absolutely blown me away. FFIV is probably the best FF before FFVII (although FFVI comes close). I love the transformation into a Paladin, and the link with Kain and stuff. Love it!

I got FFIV by buying FF Chronicles that came with that plus Chrono Trigger. Between those two game, I think Chrono Trigger was better, but FFIV has it's finer points as well.

I think FFIV is the only game that let's you use 5 characters in a party simultaneously, but it has it's own limitation that were rectified in later FF games.

That's only for the PS1 though, don't know about it for other systems...

Though I mostly agree w/you (mainly because I don't think anything but the game itself was tragic in FFVII)...do you mean the tragedy that's undone later, the tragedy that's undone later, the tragedy that's undone later, the tragedy that's undone later, or the tragedy that actually sticks that you see coming? :P

That's certainly not the case...off the top of my head I could name several games: FFTactics, Fire Emblem, Shining Force...I don't know if I could name a non-SRPG off the top of my head, but I'd be more than surprised if it weren't the case...also, the game's balanced to use however many characters you have in your party, really...all RPGs work that way...which is why you can work perfectly well w/Dragon Quest's 1-on-1 system. Balance.

I meant the only FF game in the series, but I did forget about FFT ^^

The Suikoden series allows you to use 6.

Has an Amazing Storyline and amazing character so yea it worths getting

Yeah i really like it so far(since i saw pictures, videos, and ect.) it looks nice and i would really like it in my collection

well this is still my favorite one in the series :) Generally the storyline and gameplay are very impressive and is good even for today.

yes this game is a must have for not only ff fans but for rpg fans in general.
i played this game when it came out as ff2 for the super nes in the late 80's early 90's and in my opinion is one of if not the best rpgs of all time. graphics aside its story, characters, music and overall feel are equal to if not better than any rpg before or after and is my all time favorite ff game. this game more than ff1 got me hooked on the ff series and is one of the standards that i use to compare any rpg i play. if you are a true fan of rpgs get this game.

Heck yeah! The music is sopme of the best IMO, the storyline is incredible, the characters are really believable... and then of course we have Cecil & Rosa, the best FF pairing of all time (along with Refieth, of course.) <3

FF IV is one of the best FF games out there. havi9ng it is a must. it was the first FF game i played and it was amazing. so i kinda ended up here after a while.

of course FFIV worth getting, don't let the graphics fools ya, the story is just awesome this game must be one of the greatest game I've ever played.

Is it ever going to be released outside Japan, though? I don't think there's been any official word on this.

Is there a "Learning Japanese - is it worth it?" thread? Apart from anything else, I do get the impression that sometimes things are lost in the translation to English (of FF games in general).

Hm... Haven't played this yet, but I'm gonna. (Christmas/00bur late Birthday.) After reading what this thread said, and what a bunch of my friends said, I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna get this game.

This game is really worth getting. You can have three airships. You can go to the underworld, surface world and the moon. I recommend this game to all Final Fantasy Fans.

Final Fantasy IV is a must if you have not already played it. It is a fantastic game, great story, brilliant battle skills and techniques for the party and a pretty swell soundtrack. :D
