first of all I'd like to give a big thanks to Kylie for her orginal conception of this idea which she first concieved with her Forums Life, its always been fun to read the updates and mishaps going on there.

Now its time for the Final Fantasy Forumites to boldy go where noone has gone before!!....Star Trek Online!

I currently play on Star Trek online, a highly customisable mmo by cryptic studios whom are well renowned for there character customisation options and find myself with a captain spaces and bridge officer slots that I could change to assume the identity of you the forumites!

Each week I'll keep a documention of the goings on in the STO universe, the trial and trivulations, the discoveries and romances, every bit of tomfoolery you would expect from our very own mad hatters of the forums to get up to!

At current I have space for the following:

United Federation of Planets:

2 captains
6 bridge officers (these will be most documented in the Away team missions)

Klingon Defence Force:

1 captain
3 bridge officers (as with the feds, the away team missions will be the most documented area)

these slots will expand as each team advances through the game and anyone whom has reserved themselves as a bridge officer will be eligible to join the crew compliment.

In order to better create your avatar, I will require a picture of you submitted to this thread, if you want to be of an alien race (Klingon, Ferengi, Jem-Hadar, etc) make sure to state your race and ill try to create your very own likeness as if you were a member of that race!

I'm also taking suggestions on ship names too, so make sure to pop em in to this thread, and I look forward to updating you on your dopplegangers exploits in space!

I'd love to have an alternate version of me travelling through the cosmos, so I'm all up for having a character in my name onboard your ship. :D

I'm not sure on race though... I'd be a Klingon, but if that doesn't look like me (I won't be insulted if it is too easy to make me look like a Klingon) then I'll take a spot as a human.

As for captains or bridge officers... What would the captains do in this game? If most of the action is with the officers I'd rather be associated with them.

As for pictures.. I'll post one later in this post, or just steal one from the member picture thread. But I'll put one here later.
 
Captains are the ones that do most of the work, the bridge officers are more supporting role of the captain, that being said bridge officers are pretty busy being that its there actions that can turn the tide of a fight.

The Captain will always be the one in charge of the ship and always leads the away team, the bridge officers usually play a bigger part in the away team than they do in space (since they act more on there own than the captains commands)

To add, I can also if you prefer base the character on a character that you wish to represent you ingame if you wish not to upload your own pic, I can fabricate a character out of that.

Ah I see, it was saying that the officers were more active on the away team that confused me and made me think that that meant they'd play a larger role than anything else.

In that case I'd like to be a captain, as that would be awesome. :awesome:

just a quick note, if there are no suggestions, captains get the right to choose there own ship name, the U.S.S and I.K.S handle are default and cannot be changed.

Captain number 1: Jill Valentine screenie :) in case your wondering shes a Race called the Joined Trill, same Race as Dacs off DS9

any particular ship? can be a member of the U.S.S S.T.A.R.S, the second currently un-named fed ship or Argors Klingon crew :)

Don't fancy being a Klingon, they have wrinkles, not fussed other than that
 
ok put you on the U.S.S S.T.A.R.S kelly, diarmid your on the S.T.A.R.S as science officer, just need the tactical officer and thats the first ships crew sorted :)

First update xD

Promotions, Moving to a new ship and an old friend comes to save the day!

After flying several patrol missions and securing the Solaris Sector of the alpha quadrant, Jill was promoted to Lt Commander and granted a new ship, The U.S.S Racoon City, in turn she was allowed to promote two of her bridge officers, of which Bambi and Vikki were both promoted to the rank of Lieutenant...

Bambi was promoted due to being rather good at keeping the ship operational in a fire fight and discovering a path around what would have been a brutal and bloody battle during an Away team mission (the npc pathed funnily and found it by mistake :P)

Vikki was promoted for tactical excellence and single handedly beating off a squad of klingons with only a phase-rifle at her disposal (the npc wandered off and went on a massacre) her precision timing with overloading the ship phasers have brought down many veteran klingon vessels even in the most dire of circumstance.

After promotion the team were sent to investigate an annomaly in the neutral zone in which they found themselves Chasing a rogue klingon Ambassador whom was holding Lt Miral Paris hostage, tailing him all the way to the gate system, the team followed him through time and thwarted his plans by halting an attack on the enterprise and sending a boarding party to rescue Lt Miral Paris.

The Away team boarding the Klingon Vessel Via the Cargo hold:

After Miral Paris was successfully rescued and the life of the klingon ambassador ended by a well placed shot by Strigon, the crew of the U.S.S Racoon city made there way back to the Gate system in order to return to there own timeline.

However things looked bleak as the klingons set up an ambush and several Klingon K7's decloaked.

When all hope looked lost, the Enterprise showed up and helped the Racoon City force the Klingon's into full retreat allowing the Racoon City and her crew to return to there own time!

Can I ask... Am I alone on my ship at the moment? :wacky:

Your main ship has people busy at work on desks all over the place, and resemble a team. I, however, am stood there on my own, holding a blaster, looking extremely pissed off and moody. :D

Is that only because no-one else has joined my ship? Or are ther any default klingons running around at the moment until other ones are made by you?

Well there's a couple of reasons :wacky:

1: I had just finished creating the character, therefore he had not aquired bridge officers just yet.

2: Klingon ships have smaller bridges aside from the k'tinga battle cruiser, the n'vagah warship and the Flagship Carrier, so naturally they have a smaller crew compliment (a mere 80 for a bird of prey in comparison to a consitition class fed ships 400)

3: There are some npc's aboard in the klingon bridge room, aside from bridge officers, however the captain's chair is elevated and centralised, whereas the consoles are more frontal on the ship, why it looks like your on the ship alone.

But dunnie worry, This weeks story is going to be from the klingon side, im doing it on a weekly rotation for each story, so it was feds last week, klingons this week then it'll be back to feds and so forth, you will definatley get to hear of the Fed's that are destroyed in glorious battle!
