Er... I don't know if this is the right area to ask but I'll go for it anyway. Could I please get some recommendations of what FF game to play. So I have FF IV, V, VI avabile for me to play but I have no idea which one I should play.

It's x-mas eve and I usually play a game all day and so I decided what else but a FF game! But then theres the decision between the three and thats where I need your help. Thoughts?

Not V

Its shit

Either IV or VI though (y) Im taking IV to the mothers to play later

Have you ever played them before? If so, pick the one you haven't played. If not then I say go in order. All 3 of them happen to be good games so I would say go in the order of their release. If I had to rank them it would probably be IV, VI, then V in that order. Also what versions do you have?

I think you should play VI or IV first, since they are a bit superior to V in term of story. They also have epic characters. The job system in V is very fun however. No matter which one you chose, you're making a good choice.

I would just play them in chronological order, starting from FFIV onwards. It's not a requirement, but that way it does convey across how the Final Fantasy games have advanced during the SNES era. FFIV is a great place to start because it's where the storyline department really starts becoming interesting and it's often voted as being one of the best games in the series. FFV I can't really recommend as much. It's not bad from what I have played so far, but it loses out to FFIV and FFVI with a more inferior and forgettable plot. It has its good moments I suppose. FFVI in my opinion is the best of the lot with a very emotive and memorable story and gameplay to go with it. You know what they say: save the best till last! ^^

But really it doesn't matter what order you play them at all, but the above is just what I would do. :dave:

I'm in the middle here. It's either I play FF VI or I play them in order... The thing is I do want to play them in order but I think It'll take a really long time for me to complete 3 FF games but I do want to dive into each one and put time into them. On the other hand I heard alot of great things about FF VI and last game I played because great things I read about it was Chrono Trigger. I really enjoyed that one.

Oh right, i have the original snes versions of the games not gba. I shall make my decision soon enough.

If you've got the original versions, I'd say go with FFVI. FFVI has Kefka and Ultros, two of the best villains in any FF game, ever. The battle system isn't anything particularly remarkable, but it's solid and enjoyable, and it has easily the best storyline of the three, in my opinion.

FFV is quite good as well...the job system isn't THAT bad, and its pretty funny at times, even if the story isn't quite as involving as IV's or VI's....plus it has Gilgamesh in it ♥

VI is the best game in the series. So there you go.

IV is pretty good too. Can't go wrong there.

V I could never really get into, but the job system is fun to play with.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I appreciate it.

I'm going to go with my gut as I did when I decided to play chrono trigger and I am going to go for... FF VI. I just really want to try it out seems like I really can't go wrong with it and I shall start as soon as i can. Guests are coming over tonight and I can't play games when they're around so I guess I start later on -_-. I'll be sure to give some of my personal feedback on the game when I am done. Maybe even a review :D

Oh yes as for order of FF games I'll play. It'll most likely go FF VI, IV, then V. Most likely I'll ask for recommendations for the other console FF games too later on. Thanks again!

I'd go for ffvi.. I personally think iv sucks and five is just kind of average.. I played vi for the first time a couple months ago and there were times were I just sat back and was like wow this is awesome.. Pretty impressive for such an old game to be able to do that..

I say VI or V....VI and V are very good games, and they are different than the previous titles, in a great way.

FFVI is a beautiful game with great characters, story, music and great graphics for a nearly 17 year old game. It was fantastic graphics for then as well.

FF5 because its fun, easy, enjoyable and can make you laugh. Plus it has great characters! :33

@MasterVivi:
T.T That's awesome you felt that way. T.T

:jess: You have awesome taste. And the SNES versions of FFIV and VI are the most beautiful things to have happened in gaming history. I haven't heard or played any alternate versions of VI, but for IV, the nostalgic old-school graphics are coupled with THE BEST versions of the soundtrack by far--I'm playing through the DS version right now and many of the new sound versions are just not doing it for me, they sound more hollow and not nearly as epic.

I haven't played V, but have heard good things; however if you want my opinion, it's between IV and VI. And it basically just depends on whether you want a shorter game with a smaller cast of characters and an epic story, or a longer game with a large switchable cast of characters and an equally epic story :wacky:

Why thank you good sir :P. Yeah I am going for FF VI but my game is rigged so I got to fix it in some way or get another which would be difficult. I'll update if my choice changes due to technical difficulties but it shouldn't be that hard to get it going.... D:

EDIT: Fixed it! I am going to play FF VI right now! Oh the exitement!
