ok i would like to find out who everyone deems there favourite guitarist.when deciding it isnt about the best guitarist but whos style you like the most

me personally my favourite guitarist is alexi laiho from children of bodom he encouraged me to play guitar when i was 13 and ive now recorded with the ex keyboardist of ozzy john sinclair
 
Jimmy Page I absolutely love, so he is the top of my list.
Rock Guitarists I'd say, Hendrix, Slash, David Gilmour, E Van Halen, Chuck Berry. There are probably a few I missed out.

Also I love the blues so I can't forget about blues guitarists;
SRV, BB King, Clapton, Keith Richards, Rory Gallagher and Billy Gibbons to name a few.
 
Most definitely Jimi Hendrix. It takes a special sort of person to play a guitar with their teeth, and for it to still sound good. I doubt there'll ever be another guitarist as good as that.
 
Hendrix here as well. It's impossible to say that he wasn't special, some of the stuff he could do was just unreal. There are quite a few guitarists I like but none of them come close to Hendrix.
 
Well.... There are lots of guitarists I like, but my favourites would have to be Matt Bellamy, Daron Malakian, and Jarret Reddick. They're not exactly legends, but they're some of the most inspirational figures that have inspired me to at the very least, play guitar as just a little more than a hobby.
 
David Gilmour. That man sends shivers up my spine.

I've a lot of respect for Jimi Hendrix also.
 
Crap theres a shitload, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Andreas Oberg (jazz guitarist) and Rodrigo y Gabriela (flamenco guitarists), just to name a few.
 
Gotta go with dave gilmour the guys a genius. Theres also a guy named Jhango Rhinehart (think thats how its spelt) hes a jazz player, absolutely amazing he can make up long solos on the spot, its scary what the guy can do.
Also a fan of pat martino, hendrix, John Mcgloughlin and larry carlton, its not so much im a big fan of their music its just when it comes to playin guitar their something else!
 
Buddy Guy, Buckethead, Jimi, Steve Vai, and others. Only recently getting into Buddy Guy, but damn he is a great Blues guitarist.
 
Oh my fucking goodness, Al Di Meola, John LcLaughlin, Bradley Nowell, and Zeke Siemers. The flamenco guitarists are wonderful in the music they play together. Sublime, although simple, just hits a good spot every time. Nice metal riffs comin' from Final Wish, too. Good shit, right here.
