Just wondering what everyone's favourite character design is. Not favourite character, favourite character design. Their outfit and such. My favourites have got to be Rikku from X-2 and Lenne, also from X-2. Lovelovelove. Although Rikku is drastically changed from her FFX design.

At least they have practical shoes for running.
If this doesn't belong here, move pl0x ;3

The entire main cast from Final Fantasy IX. That was really Amano bringing out his A game, and giving the classic FF character classes/archetypes an interesting twist. If I had to pick out one though, it would probably be Freya or Steiner.

My favourite would be Tidus. I just like the way they drew his clothes i thought it was very imaginative without bein to unbelievable. I think all the characters in FF10 were well drawn and designed, they stand out to me in front of all the other FF characters from the other games.

you know the character designer challenged his artists to draw Lulu's belts exactly the same everytime? o.o;
I agree, Tidus' design is great. I don't like his earring that much though. Oh well. Tidus is badass :monster:

I actually liked Golbez's design- the one they renovated for the FFIV DS release. I love how the armor itself looks intimidating and conveys what a villain should be.

I don't have one particular favorite- so I would also like to say Balthier. How can you not like Balthier's outfit? It matches his "I'm the leading man" attitude and yet casual.

I would like to say Genesis too (and his sword), but he was just modelled after Gackt, so I'm not entirely sure about Genesis. Now Sephiroth- that's one design from a God!

I personally thought it was kind of, well fruity, with the whole outfit showing his belly. I kind of liked it, but at the same time... Suspenders with a small jacket revealing his belly? WTF!?

Ive been wrackin gmy brains for ages ebcasue I KNEW there was someone and it's Edea! Or Ultimecia......both have fantastic designs the outfits and head dresses are like, my favourite ever

I also like the Judges in XII, they are great, but Edea/Ultimecia gets its from me, they look saucy

there's j ust nothing about that outfit I don't like, if I could Id so dress up as her one day, but Id take up too much room, and end up looking like one of them bad cosplayers I liek to lol at

yeah yeah i know its a dissidia one, but its close enough, and its just fucking cool

I love the design of Terra from FF6.
I don't know why really... I just like the red patterned costume with cape and spotted tights and boots.

If I had to pick a female character that I think is well designed it would have to be her, with blonde or with green hair.

For male characters... I'm not really sure. Perhaps Ultros as I love his goofy teeth and purple failness. They had the task in designing a joke monster and seriously nothing can get more jokey than this:

Ashelia, hands down. I like how it had a sort of "warrior-feel" to it. It's tough, because of the metal, and armor she's wearing, but the cuteness of the shoes, the short pink skirt, the blue belt and "girly" top even it out very well. The colours are great, the design is great and I fell in love with her outfit instantly.

Most definitely Yuna from FFX! I love that sweet innocent little summoner outfit she wears. XD My favourite part of her design is the earring she has in her right ear. It's absolutely gorgeous. XD

The belt is also stunning and the whole outfit in general is very creative and beautiful!

Definitely Lenne from FFX-2! I wanted to wear that outfit for ages when I first saw it. XD It's absolutely stunning!

And last but definitely not least: Tifa! Her outfit is one I would love to wear someday. XD It's the most practical of the lot aside from that long cape at the back. XD She could seriously trip on that thing when she's fighting. =0

But yeah it'd be a hot as outifit to slip into I think. XD

I don't like the pink :gasp:
& Kandy, I agree on yuna's outfit. It's so graceful! :awesome: And I love those sleeves that come off her arms.

I strongly dislike pink, and I preferred a different colour when I first saw the outfit to be honest. I guess I just warmed up to it

As much as XII is criticized by people, are costume designs in my opinion are up there with the best of them, the detail is amazing and suits the period of time they're in. Balthier is a clear example of this imo, his costume design just seems flawless. :gasp:

Yeah i agree But am not sure about those Dodgy Colourful Rings He Wears

I love the way Vivi looks. It's a simple design, but he's just too cute. :D

I really didn't like many of the female characters designs. Except Lulu's, that was pretty cool-looking!

I couldn't agree with you more.
Also, I love how they made him look more like a pirate without overdoing it. The design is absolutely beautiful too.

Holy shit. Could that skirt get any shorter? Damn, ever since FFX-2, there have been like 3 or 4 characters with skirts with a few inches of length. It's crazy.

My quick review of Ashelia -
Ashelia's design starts to fail around past her waist. The skirt is too short and a bright pink, the belt only matches the sky blue fan-outs around her calves and her rings, those weird metal .. spikey.. things look uncomfortable - why not wear proper legwear? She would look way better with some dark leggings, and if her colour scheme just kept with azure, light gold and white. And that skirt is way too short. Her design could have been so much more mature and elegant..

I agree, I don't like how short the skirt is. It looks like they added that blue belt to make that pink belt look like a skirt. I got used to it though and I still like her outfit. I, however, wouldn't be caught wearing anything starting from her skirt and below because I would feel so self conscious. It's still kinda cool how they went with a "girly warrior" kinda look. I'm not into pinks, purples, or anything girly but this, I liked.
