What the eff is this? I remember when I was young, y'know.. nine, ten or whatever, that our family films had movies with animals that over came obstacles to be with their family.. Homeward Bound, Buddy.. those were touch to the heart classics...

But it seems as though time goes on, animals need to talk and do ridiculous things to be funny and cute. Why? It's just weird and seriously effed up... Not to mention misleading into making kids think their animals can probably do this...

It's just.. -shudders-

Don't knock it till you try it. I'm sure there's salvation. I honestly didn't like the Buddy films when I was young. Homeward Bound was great though. But there are many great family films. Little kids now will probably be saying the same thing sometime in the future. All I'm saying is family films shouldn't be judged by just one. I think there are some great ones out there now.

I think this movie look scute :3 But you're right. Family movies really aren't what they use to be.

Okay, I should have specified I guess.

Talking animal films were ripe when the animals didn't really talk. Homeward Bound animals, communicated but their lips didn't move. Babe made the talking happen over the noises they normally made.

It's just, all these new family animal films where they CG the lips to move inconsistently to what's being said, and DANCING in large groups with choreography? It's just... wrong.

Babe was a load of shite. That pig should have been on my breakfast plate along with my fried egg.

Il admit i didnt even click that video trailer, the dog looks completely retarded and he put me off ¬__¬
What counts as a family movie? Im not sure....LIke....toy story ? Cuz thats a brilliant film. But then if that does count....thats an old film :hmmm:

shut up man, that was a heartwarming film that teaches us not to accept our given roles in society and to stand up for what's right

next you're going to tell me you didn't like Charlotte's Web

Well by Family, I mean like.. 'live action' family, not Pixar or... that other God awful CG company... Can't remember the name.

You know, what family movies USED to be about... actual family situations and what not.

Also tbf I thought the first Buddy movie was brilliant, then they milked that series till it died a painful dead... seriously, space puppies?

Totally agree with you there! I must have misunderstood the first time.

Never seen charlottes web :hmmm: Think i read the book as a kid though.

I guess im not much of a family movie person. No one ever gets their arms and legs blown off in those films :(
If they ever do though il certainly watch.

No worries, I wasn't very specific in the first post as I wanted to be, and hoped the one video would get my point across. :monster:

Well clearly you never watched... No... no one does...

Family films have always been shite. Babe is a kids movie, I remember liking it when I was 5 or so, but I've no desire to watch it again. Homewards bounds was complete shit as was bud. All supposedly heartwarming stories are because they're completely fucking contrived. It's all bullshit.

Well, aren't Senior McHappyPants. :mokken:

Also, eww on the Highschool movies, those are just complete shit.... and considered musicals, not family. :monster:

I've never been a fan of any (live action) movie with talking animals. They are just too obnoxious, the jokes are stupid and incessant, and they all have that annoying ralph wiggum vibe to them.
There are two exceptions to this absurdity, and those are Doctor Dolittle (ONLY THE FIRST ONE THOUGH!), and Stuart Little (ONLY THE FIRST ONE THOUGH!). These movies don't involve the stupidity of most others, and in them the animals are treated as equals.

I recently heard they are making a sequel to Cats & Dogs too.. What a disgrace that one was. Ay.

The aforementioned movies, yeah, those were good. Cats and Dogs was, kinda... eh-ish, but a sequel? Really. Ugh. I try to stay away from all new live action talking animals movies... how was that Chihuahua one such a hit?

Babe was awesome, as was the Homeward Bound series. Ill agree some are bit daft nowadays or the kid actors are so fucking annoying you wanna smack them and the parents lol.
