Just saw this ad today (and I've seen plenty of them before, but this just stuck with me):

My first thought was: "WTF is this? What does cleavage have to do with 'feeling like a king'? Is this some sort of medieval rape simulator? There must be 11 million sick minded individuals playing it!"

Of course this has NOTHING to do with the game at all. Evony is a browser-based MMO that has to do with building a "virtual castle" and pretending to conquer other players in text based combat. Totally misleading advertising that just makes their company look sexist and immature. I seriously hope nobody above the age of 13 wastes their time playing this game.

*rant*

The game sounds pretty rubbish to me. If they told me exactly what it was, I would probably never make the effort to go on their site or join up at all.

But women grab your attention. If it gets them more people to join, then fair play. It's obviously working.

If you think about it, it makes sense why they're creating adverts like this. Evony itself is meant to be a free browser MMO, and they need to get as much people as possible to make enough fee-paying transactions to get profit.

This kind of advertisement sells the product. It is misleading, it is ridiculous and immature. But it's also business.

And I can't think of any reason why I would play the game.

I've seen a few of these, personally it doesn't bother me, she has a nice pair anyway :wacky: But as Graye said, if it makes people click the link and play the game then fair play to them, it's obviously working if they continue to use them and there's no real reason for them to change a working formula. To be honest though, I'd rather see a nice looking woman than what the game looks like by the sounds of it :wacky:

I can understand them trying to appeal to people by making them think the game is about breasts, that's how most game ads are--however some of the women I've seen in these ads aren't even wearing medieval clothing. That's just completely lazy. At least get the time period right--it doesn't cost much to rent or make a medieval outfit.

See when I see those sort of images I associate them with Porn sites and such so I wouldn't even click on them. >.<

Though I suppose it would attract more guys to click on it just because of the image. If it was some funny looking cartoon or whatever advertising their site it probably wouldn't attract half as much attention.

It's silly that it has nothing to do with what they're advertising, but smart if you want business.

I've seen so many of those Evony ads, it enough to make me sick. I remember the first ads they came out with weren't that bad, then they started getting more sexual. I've seen them EVERYWHERE. I can't understand why they advertise in just about every site I've been too. That's buisness, but I think it's bullshit.
