Earthly World
Riley listened to his i-pod while leaving his band's rehearsal. He walked along the gray, littered alley to where a local bar across from his apartment was. As he enterd the shop filled with smoke and the smell of booze, Riley immeadiately turned the other way. He couldn't stand smokers in confined places. Waiting outside with his guitar case in hand bobbing his head to the beat a big television in a window started forming a small crowd. Riley walked over to see what the big commontion was about. It was a news story.
"Hundreds of thousands of prisoners have escaped from jails all across the world just hours ago." the newscaster reported. "For unexplained reasons, these prisoners have found a way to all be released at once."
The shocking news was the only thing that had Riley take off his earphones to hear more. People in the crowed stirred, some gasping, others with suprised looks. "All we can do now is stay inside and lock your doors so that the police forces of your town can round up these criminals. Even army officials have agreed to join in." Said the newscaster. "The government has been trying to keep this quiet-"
"Is there a prison in Newyork?" a tourist from the crowd screamed in panic.
"We have to get outta here!" said a man rushing from the crowd.
One by one voices of panic could be heared across the city, across the world echoing. Riley grabbed his guitar and rushed to his apartment as a crowed of hundreds flooded the streets on which he now walked. He shoved and pushed through the crowed for minutes until finally he had reached his building. He tried the door but it wouldn't budge. "Hey!" Shouted Riley. "Hey! Open up!"
There was no reply. "Dammit!"he muttered.
Just as he said this panic horns began to blaze all across the city. Everyone was in danger.
