@Belazor: Actually... it's quite true that girls could care less about nice, sensitive guys. Or, at least around high school age, they don't. I'm a pretty good example; Lots of girls like me but the ones I ask out say they won't date me because I'm 'too nice' or 'too sensitive'. However, I believe this becomes less of a rule as they get older and accumulate more sense.
Maybe it's a country thing then, because I've never ever experienced anything like this.
This one girl I used to date, who ironically was emo, said to me "The girls who only go after the good looking guys will always end up with homos, not a great guy like you".

So yeah, I don't know if I just got lucky in the past or if there is a difference in societies or what.

Besides it makes no sense; what do they want you to do? Donkey punch them then ask them out?

Awcht aye, like folk signed into MSN/Bebo/MySpace and suchlike saying "no in the mood, don't talk to me," yet they're blatantly logged on so that some innocent fool will ask them what's wrong.

Oh god, exactly! I looaathe people who have any type of conversation by signing in and out of msn. ¬_¬ It's just so goddamn annoying, WE DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE OFF TO CHIPPY, JUST GO ALREADY!!! GET OFF MY MSN SCREEN!!!:mad::mad:

xD That's what I was thinking each time... Honestly... It's like saying 'If we do go out, would you please abuse me...?'

Uhm... kthxNOES!

Back on the topic of Emos, though if they don't want to be associated with the term, there's a simple solution... Stop acting like everybody else who shares your haircut/fashion sense. To tell the truth I used to have hair similar to the 'emo' style (I love the hairstyle, actually, because it covers my ugly brown eyes. :P), but people never associated me with them because I acted so different.

Belazor, I believe you are correct. I think how people date varies quite a bit in different countries. I think that even different sections, in a country could be different.

To be honest, I never really thought about it. I just ended up with somebody I could actually communicate with. My major pet peave is shallow people.

Well most of the 'Chavs' have classed me 'Emo', whitch i HATE.
And to be honest i dislike emos, but the the only reason is because most i have met are attention seeking emo wannabes.
Most Real 'emos' keep their emotions to their self.

emos can be emos for all i care but why do they call it a fashion if most of this thing is about feelings?

It's a whole trend, not just a fashion.

And also most emos usually deny that they are, or say things on myspace like 'some people call me emo... but i'm not :]' just to highlight to your attention that they have been associated with this before, and then the little smiley face at the end really bugs me aswell. ¬_¬
I don't know why, but it's like they're trying to say 'That's right, I can put a brave face on despite all of the 'hardships' I have been through, such as people mistaking me for being an emo when I am CLEARLY not.' or 'I can hide my depression behind this stupid smiley face so that everyone thinks it's ok, but it's really not.' Blahblahblah.. Oh boohoo you big pansies, get a grip =/

I actually know a girl like that...when we talk online she'll say all these self-hating or emo things, and then follow it up with a =] and it just pisses me the fuck off >_<

Actually... All the Emo kids at my school are either really open about it, or call themselves 'skaters' or 'punks' despite never having skated or gone against anything... Oh, how they try to hide obvious things...

That pisses me off too, punk fashion is cooler for one thing, and the music is better.

I see that shit all the time. Honestly, I just ignore people when they do that. I'll ignore people IRL like that too, if they're brooding and pouting and just going out of their way to make it obvious, I won't give them the satisfaction of being paid attention to. It's the best way to train them to not be pouty little 5 year olds.

I has teh emo hair, but that's only because my hair is stubborn and won't let me do anything else. But I haven't dyed it fake jet black like emos and I wear caps too.

I know a lot of people like that (one in particular), who will call themselves a 'punk' even though they haven't the foggiest idea what it is. Basically, they will just dress in bondage trousers and tartan and safety pins etc, dye their hair crazy colours, and listen to Fall Out Boy and Yellowcard. They don't seem to understand that punk is an attitude, not a fashion =/

Oh, god, they suck.
Nothing's wrong with the colours black and red, but when people get all depressed and meloncholy, they make other people sad too.
"Sadness is a terrible and contagious virus whose main purpose is to show us the cruelty of life."

There's a quote of my own making for anyone willing to use it :monster:

Indeed, depression is a serious condition. Last time I saw on TV the news of a 12 years old kid who committed suicide because their parents canceled his trip to Disneyland. Apparently, the kid experiences serious depression but the lack of communication with his parents allowed this situation to happen under their very noses.

wow, that's just terrible... no 12 year old should ever be sad enough to even run away from home (let alone kill himself)

Being depressed is terrible, I've been down occasionally, nothing too bad, so i can barely imagine how emos feel.

they have got to get help... all of them

I heard about a 4 year old girl who was depressed because she didn't get into the right school. That's bloody ridiculous if you ask me. How can a *four* year old be depressed?! At 4 I was still very much oblivious to the world around me, so if doctors were really saying that this girl was depressed then there must have been a LOT of pressure from her parents to get her into the school. Almost all that 4 year olds know is what they have learnt and picked up from their parents, so it is their fault for making it such a big deal to her. But I still think it's bollocks though.

they have got to get help... all of them

Help in the form of a kick up the arse, perhaps.

I've heard that people who jump off of buildings realize that most of their problems aren't as bad as they seem about half way down.
maybe just let them go about what they do and they'll eventually stop being stupid

Well there's got to be a fudgin' reason for killing themselves. Eventually they'll find out when they turn up in Hell.
I don't give a crap about good emos, but I give crap about bad emos for cutting themselves. If they want to cut themselves, why don't they donate the blood to charity? Probably makes them feel better.

Oh god, that's almost as stupid as Mitchell Henderson killing himself over losing his iPod. The parents probably didn't even notice anything was wrong with their son...although clinical depression is usually pretty easy to spot.

There are fudgin' reasons for them killing themselves:
1. They might actually have depression
2. They're pussies and want to take the easy way out (this is more common)

Also, there's no such thing as a good emo. And you can't expect emos to donate the blood to charity, they're selfish and self-centered.

Oui, oui, but what's the third?
And yes I'm wrong about good emos. Fudgin' people fer calling me emo at school:dry:

There is no third. Suicide is probably the most selfish act one can commit. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. People just let the problem(s) overwhelm them so much that they don't even take into account (or care) that things will get better, or how much they'd hurt their friends and family.

That's very true, they put an end to all of their pain, causing a much greater pain on the people who care about them. And they are also free of the feeling of guilt for committing such a selfish act, ya know, because they're dead an' all.... o_O

Exactly :monster:

So ya know, if a kid kills himself over an ipod (like Mitchell Henderson, the original an hero) or over not going to Disneyland...maybe I'm cold, but I really can't feel sorry for them. For their families, yes...but them, no.

Well I wonder where they get a knife from anyway, besides from home and no allowance.

Uh...from a drawer in the kitchen? And there's obviously plenty of emos who DO get allowances, otherwise they wouldn't be able to afford their clothes. Emos don't just cut with knives, either. They use razor blades too, and I've even known people who've used pins.
