Doctor Who

So it's back and it was a pretty eventful episode. I quote enjoyed it, a bit messy, but in a good way I thought. Lots of 'what the?!' moments.
 
i really enjoyed it, it was a brilliant way to bring the series back. i thought "mels" being river was a bit of an obvious twist, and river using her extra regenerations to bring the doctor back was a little bit russel t davies, but they didn't keep it from being a good episode.

rory locking hitler in the cupboard made the episode for me.
 
Just finished watching it (4 hours before it airs here :gasp:) It was really good. I really like how they introduced Mels and then out of nowhere she turned out to be River (although her name alone made me start to think about it). Still not sure if we'll get to see Melody as a child again seeing as her whole life she was brainwashed. Oh well. Can't wait for next week's episode :yay:

Obvious Twist is Obvious.

Still, it was a good episode, I enjoyed it. Although the newly regenerated Melody Pond annoyed me quite a lot. I'm a little disappointed with the lack of WWII in it... I felt like a lot more material could have been written.

But I still liked it...

(And hooray for Rose, nice to see her, Martha, and Donna again!)
 
Yeah, I liked seeing the old companions as well. His reaction to them was quite funny :lew:
 
She was still regenerating, that's why she didn't die :P Like when the Tenth Doctor had just regenerated and his hand grew back.
 
Perhaps it has something to do with how far into the regeneration it is.

Matt Smith's Doctor was in the early stages of his regeneration, and had not changed form before he was shot.

Melody / River had regenerated into her new form, and she probably only had lots of leftover energy within her which she was able to spend at the moment that she found herself getting shot by Nazis.

Really enjoyed last nights episode, I was on a lip wobble for a good half of it haha. Me and Tom had a bit of a disagreement about how he would end up not being dead from the poisoning, and I was right, ha

He was just starting to regenerate, though. River, on the other hand, had already completed hers. That's why.

I was wondering how the Doctor would survive, but then remembered he died in the first episode of the series and had to live until then, anyway. I bet we may see River again, was interesting to see her in her rebellious streak before settling down.

I can't help, but wonder how the rest of the series is going to pan out now.
 
I'm curious to see if we'll only be seeing this newly regenerated River or if we'll see them both over the course of the last episodes of the season :hmmm:

I agree entirely! A great episode, and I enjoyed seeing how Melody became River (I'm particularly fond of her character). I'm more fond of Rory after this episode, too; I wasn't too fussed about him before.

I can't wait until next week's! :)

the finale will have winston churchill returning, with the romans and there'll also be pterodactyls. i've also been told that charles dickens from series 1 is coming back at some point, but i'm not sure if it's going to be the finale or not.
 
Watched "Night Terrors" about an hour ago. I liked it. Not the best episode I've seen, but it was good. I liked the ending of it.

And this just keeps reminding me I need to keep watching the First Doctor :gasp: Stopped on the Aztecs and didn't feel like watching it all day like I had been doing before :hmmm:
 
I watched this last night too and, like Draklor, thought it was good, but not the best. I enjoy those which contain character development the most! :) I had expected this episode to be more frightening.

Great acting as always. And I love the simple effects; they add to the overall greatness of it! :)
 
Last nights was enjoyable enough, but it didnt really grab me, normally summat like that would scare the shit out of me, but it didn't
 
I enjoyed last night's episode, but I agree with you all who say that it wasn't mindblowing or amazing. That said, I can't expect them all to be. The series as a whole is still much better (for me) than the Russel T Davies era of Doctor Who was.

Next week's episode looks very interesting. It's got a quirky Wonderland'ish look to it, and it looks as if it'll place Rory in an interesting situation.
 
my problem with it was that the end was too rushed. once amy was changed, it went too fast. i think it needed to build up the suspense about what was in the cupboard more, and then have the reveal at the end of the episode along with amy's change and make it a two-parter, because it was definitely a good enough idea to be stretched over two episodes.
