I used to watch the news every morning with my dad before school. But lately, I only see little tid bits of it when it records over my favorite shows (erggg).

I usually only watch the news during natural dissasters. (I would watch during Hurricane season in New Orleans, Tornadoes and Floods in Arkansas, and Earthquakes and fires in California).

I never watch the weather. In fact...when they say to expect sunny weather, be sure to bring an umbrella to work. The weather channel is almost never accurate. XD

And on the other hand, the media side of the news is just too negative. =x
War, conflict, drugs...bah. There's rarely anything "good for the world" on the news.

Lol, that's all I ever see anymore on the news. I turn it on and there's never anything that is good on. It's always about somebody killing someone, or a fire was started, or about the war" I wish there was a bit more postivie things on the news.

I was over at my moms house the other morning and they were talking about how the world was coming to an end >_> Just what I want to see before I go to work.

I used to love to watch the news every night before I went to bed. I actually liked the news then. But then everything on the news was getting so depressing and disturbing and I just couldn't watch it anymore. Well living in an area close to Detroit, we get a lot of drive by shootings on the news, basically it's just "So and So was shot today while..." and I just couldn't watch it anymore.

I now get my news from the newspaper every morning

I would rather get my news from the newspaper as well. It comes with free coupons and comics. XD

The crime news was really bad when I lived in New Orleans. They have an average of at LEAST 3-5 killings a week. No kidding. There is a lot of crime in Los Angeles too, but it's no where near as bad as New Orleans was. =x

I'm not sure what our average on killings are, but damn 3-5 a week. That's pretty messed up if it's known exactly to be that much. I'm not sure I'd want to live near a place like that. D:

I never watch the news... The weather doesn't really matter to me, and news stories are always exactly the same everyday. I don't really see any point in watching the news anymore.

It depends on your locations. I have heard rumors that places like Detroit and Chicago are full of crime too. The crime rates are worse in places that are racially divided. In New Orleans, the majority of the white people lived on the East Bank, and most of the blacks lived on the West Bank. Not because they have to be, but because they want to be. It's like that generally in most big cities. People divide their cultures on purpose. =S

Yeah I have an Aunt who lives in Detroit, I get weirded out by it every time I go up there. But it doesn't turn out too bad where she lives.

Where I live, there aren't any killings... just everyone and their mom being caught with some form of drug or prostitution. Both of which are about as bad in my book. Meh... We need more morals in the world...

Well, I usually read CNN.com and watch their videos. I like to keep up to date with current events, especially what is going on with the election this year. I admit, I do read and watch trashy celebrity news. Sometimes I read the New Yorker as well.

As for local news, I have a local news station that I do watch. It most consist of car accidents, town events, school issues/events. Nothing major really... Most crime and gang activity is towards the city, obviously...

I watch or read the news whenever I can. In the mornings I usually catch the local 6:00 news on TV in 4 different channels to see what's up in San Diego. When I get to school I go off to foxsports to catch up on the latest happenings in sports.
When there's nothing else to watch I just go flip the channel to CNN or other big stations like the BBC in America, that is, of course, if it's not overflowing with reports about the latest celebrity mishap/arrest/drug dealing (same thing, really).

On Saturdays that I do community service at the local blood bank, I go over the newspapers and read about it.

That is all. :monster:

I hardly ever watch the news but I do read newspapers and read news online. Sometimes I'll watch our local news stations but they aren't very good at their job.

For example, I was watching channel 11 news one day and they were reporting about a murder at a hotel. They were interviewing supposed witnesses, none of who were credible or had anything important to add. They asked this one guy had he seen anything and his response was "Yeah, I woke up around 12 or 12:30." o_O And that's pretty much how that news always is. It's just not very informative.

I read CNN.com daily. The writing is bad and they can't seem to hire a good editor for shit, but their news tends to be relatively unbiased.

Also, a part of my internship is going through about 20-30 newspapers every Monday and looking for articles that mention my boss. So...I get caught up on a lot of news on Monday, whether I want to or not. I kind of like that part of the job, though. It keeps me very up-to-date on what is going on in the world and in my town :D

I rarely watch the news. In fact, I can't remember the last time I did. I'm terrible with the news. If I know anything, I'll have heard it on the radio or seen it in the front of a newspaper. Haha, I should start listening/watching/reading the news more. I think I'd rather read it online.

No, I hardly watch the news at all. In fact, I'm always one who hears everything a few days later prior from when the events actually happened. And even then, I typically hear news from people anyway.

However, if it's a big world event, then yes I'd definitely watch the news. Or some drastic events like Virginia Tech.

But local-wise...no. I suppose I just don't have the patience to sit there and anticipate what other crimes those idiots committed, when I could very well be doing something productive with my time. Oh yes, I know how high the crime rates are in Columbus, Ohio. Need I really indulge myself to watching them?

Rarely, I rarely watch TV at all, the news are sometimes very depressing, like these past few few weeks, a local pop-star died in a car accident in Croatia and it's been all over the news and every TV show there is...

Also politics isn't my thing, and there's a lot of that on the news too so I avoid it.

Agreed, but I'd watch it once or read about it on the internet nothing more.

I only ever watch it if I can't find the remote and I can't be bothered turning it over. It just annoys me tho like the newspaper really. With all the horrible stories and the fact that people like britney get headlines when there are far more important things going on

I love watching the news. I love to know whats going on in my country, but Im not really interested in others personally. Id rather worry about whats happening here then somewhere thousands of miles away.

I get my main source of the news from online rather than the TV. I tend not to use my TV for much other than playing video games.
