Do you Use/own the orignal consoles for each of the titles for FF?

do you still own the console the FF was made for? ^^

i still have a ps1, but thats how far i go back now, as i dont have any room for the old'skool consoles, but i thought id see just how many of you use what console for each ff

I still have my original Playstation which I use to play the PS1 versions. Don't have an NES though but the only FF I have for it is I any way. No SNES any more either. Just use the PS1 and PSP.

All the FF's starting from 10 and on, I play it on their respective consoles. The older ones (9 and under), I play them on an emulator on my PC so I can always look back to it in the future :)
I'm also like a collector, so I would hate to lose my files

Actually, I'm not even sure if Europe even got any of the FF games prior to FFVII and while I had a SNES years ago, I never owned a NES so all the pre-FFVII releases I bought were...re-releases. :olivia:

My PSone and PS2 are broken. My PSone broke well before I got into FF. I think FFVI was the only FF game I was able to finish on my PS2 before it broke hence why I used my PS3 for most of the other games.

I think I still have the NES Somewhere and I had some of the very old FF games on it as well. Also I completed all except V on GBA, X-2 and XII so far.. and those will all be done during the summer I guess... bar FF V of course :gasp:
 
I like hunting down old games and couldn't dream of parting with a well-loved system that was still working, so... I think I own every FF that was released in the US in its original format.

With the exception of I (the original is nigh unplayable IMO) and IV (the PS and GBA translations are much much better) I prefer to play them that way.

Reason why I didn't play X, XI, or XII is because I never owned a PS2. I had a Gamecube and Xbox, but no PS2. I've only watched someone play IX. My brother's friend brought the game and memory card and he beat the game at our house. I played V, but I never got far at all. I played it on an emulator.

I need to catch up :D

You're absolutely right, the games weren't released in europe before VII. Pretty much unplayable in europe, unless one is willing to mod the old NES or SNES hardware, that is. Or own american/japanese made consoles with a TV that can function with them (not sure how the old hardware works as I have the modded consoles which were done by someone else, I have no idea how that stuff works).

I play all the games with a PC and emulator when I'm replaying, but I completed all the games I own now, in their original platforms. Here's what I physically own, and have played with:

FF1 - original NES game
FF2 -
FF3 -
FF4 - original SNES game
FF5 - PSX game (anthology release)
FF6 - original SNES game, PSX games (original PSX release and anthology release)
FF7 - original PSX release (2 of them, not reissues), original PC release
FF8 - original PSX release
FF9 original PSX release
FF10 - original PS2 release

After 10, I haven't really cared :)


edit: Also, Final Fantasy Chronicles for the PSX (has FFIV and Chrono Trigger), and Final Fantasy Collection for the PSX, I think it has FFV and FFVI. Never played it as my japanese isn't very good :)
