Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

This is not the Oh so pretty Aerith I know so I am not too crazy about her dissidia design. Sure she looks pretty but is it just me or her design looks rushed? I find they could have made her much better. Maybe implement her into the game as a playable character some how. She is not exacty "wow" in dissidia. I like her so much better in both CC and VII.
 
@Miyuki: Well odds are, well never see CGI Aerith in Duodecim and the extent of her beauty :P Just the in-battle sprite and maybe some concept art, that's it.

I've noticed Dissidia does actually have it's own character design style. It's subtle, but there are significant differences in the character designs in Dissidia than their own respective games and such (and I don't mean the clothing and outfits-it's with their faces).

And if Aerith was a playable character with Tifa already in the game, fans of other games or character would rage. I know some people have already expressed disappointment that there won't be a new FF character from each game, but could you imagine on top of that, they take away a potential spot and give it to yet another FFVII character? I can already see the hackles raising across the fan spectrum xD

The Japanese site finally put of Firion and what I now know is the Japanese name for The Emperor, Mateus. Still waiting on the site to put up Bartz/Butz, Ex-Death, and Shantatto-and probably Gilgamesh and Prishe. After that, I dunno who else is gonna be in the game as a playable (if any >.<).

If they announce more DLC characters, it might be on the DLC page like Aerith and those alt.costumes are on right now.

Historical Compedium also goes up to FFVIII apparently, so if you wanna blast from the past, check it out xD
 
I think Aerith looks absolutely stunning! I'm glad that Aerith made it into this game. I think she'll make an amazing assist-character too.:x3:
 
Yh i got to admit... when they annonced dissidia 012 in september I through oh god another great game that square gonna ruin but they done everything right... assist system is great.. fantastic choice of new characters and they didn't ruin the new characters like not making tifa different and even a few surprises.. like Yuna being in summoner rather thsn gunner.. I'm as exicted as I was with dissidia... maybe even more :D
 
The 1st Production Department Premier event trailer for Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy made it out to the game's official site yesterday. In case you missed it in the trailer story we posted, stream it here:​


The site refers to this as the "final trailer." There are still characters waiting to be revealed, so the term "final" is hopefully used in a different sense here.

The official site also saw a number of other updates yesterday.

First up, here's a look at Final Fantasy VII's Aerith assisting Cloud in a fight against Sephiroth. Aerith will appear in Duodecim as an assist character, but only for those who download the ¥300 Prologus demo (now available).​


Aerith is such a sweet girl that she doesn't have any means of physically attacking the enemy. To see how the development staff worked the character into Duodecim, see this story

The screenshot appears in the DLC->Prologus section of the site along with a couple of newly added Japanese language tutorials for beginner and advanced players.

The site's character section has sections for the Final Fantasy II pair of Frionel and Emperor, both returning from the original Dissidia. Cain's page was updated with a video of his Pride of Dragoon EX Bust attack.​

Firion's Third Form costume is based off his original Yoshitaka Amano drawing. Emperor's Third Form is from the movie scenes in the PlayStation version of FFII. Both are shown above.

5 member free battle? Does that mean we'll be able to have team battles or something? :hmmm: or is this in regard to those 'original quests' things?
 
nope these are team battles :D you can up to 5 party members :D

Party Battle is a free battle mode where you form a five member party and face off against another five member party. You can set each of your characters with a job, which changes their abilities. These types of party battles will also appear in the game's story mode at times.

In an interview with Famitsu this week (posted at Famitsu.com as well), director Mitsunori Takahashi said that Party Battle was implemented with the goal of allowing players to create their dream party combinations. You can even give your creation a name, he noted. Your "Friend Card" player data card can have this party attached to it

So let me get this straight... We can have all 5 characters fighting at the same time? :ohoho:

Or is it 1 at a time like it is in Tekken, Soul Calibur etc?

Oh snap! That sounds awesome! If only Red XIII made it in, I would make the coolest combo: Terra, Buntz, Jecht, (Insert FF6 or FF9 character, if they have a new one) and Red XIII. Too bad though...suppose I have to replace Red with :hmm:

Oooh, the use of this team thing in story mode sounds promising. And the screenshot with Shantatto and The Emperor reminded me; I'm glad to see that Shantatto will have a greater involvement in the story this time, I'm looking forward to seeing her interaction with the other characters.

As for my party; Tifa, Zidane, Lightning, Bartz and Squall.

lol, I love how they used the term "fanfiction" for being able to make your own quests and parties :lew:

I'm not sure what my 5-person team would be. There's a couple of teams I could do. From superficial reasons to gameplay wise as well :hmmm:
