Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

i want the flask....... that would make my hot chocolate yummy... and worth looking at... soo gonna get one when someone sells it on e-bay

I have a image of the chaos team and its not good news .... picture confirms that tidus, Terra and cloud are indeed on the side of chaos

not good :/

Was that not confirmed way back? We already knew Tidus, Terra, and Cloud were on the Chaos side after watching the 1st production conference trailer. They will not be fully evil though. Just mere puppets if anything. Since in the original Dissidia they are all on the Cosmos side. I find SE choosing another FF XI character is really weird. Final Fantasy XI is an MMORPG. Couldnt they have focused on putting Ashe in or something? I mean Prishe doesnt really amuse me.

Maybe someone on staff really, really wanted Prishe? Nomura supposedly wanted Kain and Gilgamesh, and lo and behold...Who'd a thunk S-E staff had FF fans? :wacky:

I admit because I don't play MMORPGs I disregard FFXI really easily. I still really don't know who Shantotto is, and I have no clue who Prishe is either. Nor do I really want to know.

Oh, look at that :ohoho:

No Prishe or Gilgamesh though, so I guess they're the secret characters in Duodecim like Shantatto and Gabranth were in the first-er, last Dissidia game.

I'm starting to think Desperado Chaos is the Chaos POV that we might play through-if we will play through a Chaos one in the first place.

I realized only the NA press release mentioned the playable Chaos POV. Press releases aren't always definitive, so now I'm having doubts we'll get a playable Chaos POV :/

I gotta say Vaan is not at all flattering in that pic. How is he so popular in Japan? "Hehe.. hey guys.. smell my finger." 8(

But Tidus.. :ryan: Loving Chaos Tidus. HE'S GOT HARD ABS. :ohoho:

/Fangasm

OHMIGAWD Those are awesome~ I like That Tidus and Yuna re in the same spot on their repesctive side. Tuna much?

The Pictures are alltogether. Pretty awesome. I cant wait for it to be released in Canada! Oh the awesomeness~

Im gonna be all over this game with the transferable data it eliminates the boring need to do pointless fight ans allows us to pick up where we left of in a fashion, the fuck does Vaan have such a predisposition to insert his finger in his nose? Idiot, i really dont like him:amg:

I was just thinking of a combination of Jecht and Laguna? that would be a fun conversation/fight:lew: Notice Sephiroth has a bit of Kadaj in face aswell.

Is that Gabranth behind Kefka? in between Ultmenia and Golbez?

I don't know whether I want to buy this game to be honest. Tifa, Laguna, Kain, and Gilgamesh are cool and all. But I'm annoyed that they left out FF6 and FF9 characters, and not being a huge fan of Lighting I'm annoyed that she has taken the main leadership of the Cosmos party away from Wol and is getting most of the spotlight. Also Prishe ? don't really give a flying chocobo about her, and don't know why she was added. I thought that FF XI was a flop. Most FF fans pretend that it doesn't even exist. Also Vaan. One of the worst characters that they could of added. So he's poplaur in Japan, who cares. What about the Western world SE ?
If I buy it I'll probably have moments of 'whooo, ooo " ! and moments of
:amg:But at the moment, the feeling is that I'm disappointed and angry. :jtc:
Also no Fairs, no Celes ? :'(

So what, only pay attention to the West and ignore its home fanbase? That's rather selfish =/ Besides, if they want Vaan, tbh, I don't give a rat's arse, I don't have to play as him.

As for Lightning taking over the main spotlight, I ain't too fond of WoL so I'm happy about it, and I do like her, second to Sazh she was my favourite character in XIII.

And XI wasn't a flop, it was actually very popular and still is. The only people who ignore it are ones who don't want to pay a monthly subcription fee, which is understandable, but weighing it off as unpopular just shows that your belief is blinding you from facts.

However, I too am disappointed with the lack of new characters from VI and IX, (especially with VI being my favourite FF) and going by how VI and IX's characters have been added to the website, yet no characters of V and XI have been added yet they have definite new characters, (which would be assuming, and going by the past, that they add all characters from a FF at once) then it looks like new characters from VI and IX won't be coming. That, and it seems that every FF with the exception of I and XIII will go with a rule of either having 3 characters or 2 characters plus 1 new stage.

I'm gonna remain optimistic however, and hope to god by some miracle that they're still gonna add new characters. Why? Why not? Nothings stopping them from suprising us.

...Why? Why Faris and Celes? What do they have to bring to this fight that hasn't already been brought?
I'm getting a little cheesed off at everybody whining about Faris and Celes not being in, truth be told. It makes me wonder what everybody sees in them to add them in over people with a valid reason for being in, like, say, the protagonists of other games like FFs 12 and 13.
Here's a little test for anybody who wants them in. If you can show me a way to add them in that is:
A) Faithful to their source material and
B) Does not overlap on other fighter's domains
Then I will consider dropping the annoyance. Here's a hint: Anybody suggesting a job-changing mechanic for Faris is implausible on both fronts (You couldn't change job mid-battle in FF5 and it's been done by Lightning already), and making Celes a Runic-toting counterspeller has already been done as well (WoL's HP attack Rune Blade is pretty clearly based on Runic or the other way around and counterspell is Exdeath's demense.)
I'm sorry for exploding like that, but it seems everybody here is saying "Moar Faris n Celes plz" without really thinking it through.

As for new characters, I don't think we'll see any more in the game proper, just as DLC. It's too late for them to introduce another character and have it get the publicity the other characters had. If we see Gil or Prishe in this Shonen Jump and the other in March, that quite neatly takes us up to Duodecim's release date. New stages and other DLC, however, I'm looking forward to with relish.
As for the Chaos storyline, what's to say it isn't going to be woven together with the Cosmos storyline? I mean, 15 hours of gameplay isn't that much if you split it in half, so if we extrapolate that the story is going to flip between Cosmos and Chaos, that makes more sense.

*CAUTION! TEXT WALL AHEAD! POSSIBLE RANT IMPENDING!*
Finally, the new characters. I think the FFs they added were as good as they could get - seriously, if they didn't add Kain or Yuna there'd be outcry because such iconic FF classes (the Dragoon and Summoner, respectively) were excluded, they couldn't not add Vaan as he is the protagonist of his game, they couldn't not add someone from FF13 so Lightning got in, they couldn't not add the only truly recurring character in, hence Gil, they couldn't not add someone from the most famous FF of all, preferably one of either Tifa or Aerith so Tifa got in, they had to add a villain for FFXI so Prishe got added and...
Well, I concede Laguna could've been swapped out. That was just a goofy choice all round. But still, almost all of the characters selected were for much better reasons than "there's a vocal minority". Admit it, there'd be more outcry if FFXIII didn't get a character over one from FF9 and people in Japan (yes, they count too, seeing as how it's got to cater for all demographics) would lynch the producers if FF6 got a third player over someone like Vaan or Gil.
Am I disappointed? Sure I am. Did I see it coming? From a pascal off. It was always gonna happen. So, in short, I can understand everything that happened and am not angry in the slightest. People who are saying "Well, I thought the game would be good but now I'm not gonna buy it because it doesn't have my favorite characters" should've seen this one coming. Besides, this gives a chance for character development that they didn't get in their respective games - Vaan, for instance.

Kaiser out, and if you can read all this without getting angry and shooting off at the mouth, you have my eternal respect.

Ex Mode for some of the alternate outfits are certainly something...

CoD_new2ndEX.png

Rainbow/Gay Pride Cloud of Darkness it seems.

It turns out originality is a finite thing at S-E:shame:

They really cant do much more than this tho can they, yes l believe they can.
some of the alternate costumes in Dissidia 1 were kinda lame aswell same outfit
differing colours.

They wanted to go by something for every alternate outfit, some characters weren't so lucky as to have another design to go by. Hence the recolours.

Though tbh, I'm rather suprised they didn't think of using Zidane's Knights of Pluto disguise and Bartz' sprite design the first time around. (Though tbh, Bartz recolour is pretty awesome, but I'm a sap for short spikey white hair)
