Just a question...

Is Prishe on the side of Chaos, or Cosmos?

I know very little about Prishe because I don't recall meeting her on FFXI, and I didn't play that game for very long.

Also, have we seen CGI / images of Shantotto alongside Team Cosmos?

The reason I ask is that there was an expansion pack for FFXI (which I never got) which saw a twisted, evil version of Shantotto from another dimension (I think) stir things up as a villain. I was wondering if perhaps they'd use this in Dissidia for her to be on the side of Chaos, rather than Cosmos this side, and then have Prishe on the side of Cosmos.

If not, then I guess there is always room for development there in a further Dissidia.

I don't know much about FFXI , but I belive she will be fighting on Cosmos' side. Her artwork shows her facing towards the left.

hmm yh comos i think.... and yh shantotto was in cgi during the new trailer :D i'll screenshot the new trailer :)

During the latest trailer at the end of the FMV when Lightning has just flied pass Garland and lands with her comrades for the group shot, Shantatto can be seen not far from Lightning, so it's safe to assume that Shantatto is still with Cosmos.

As for Prishe, I read a bit about her on Wikia because I didn't play XI enough to see her either, but going by what I read, the only thing menacing about her seems to be her foul tongue. So...I'm leaning more towards the Cosmos side with her.
 
Was it confirmed by SE that they would release Quests themselves?

Was it also confirmed that some of the Cosmos Warriors we see in the 13th conflict are with Chaos in the 12th war?
 
Yes, it has been. I can't find a source right now, but I recall being informed either yesterday or the day before that quests will be avaliable to download from the official Dissidia Duodecim website.

I'm looking forward to seeing what SE's staff come up with, as long as they don't slack off on other FF projects in the process.
 
I don't think it would be too hard to make quests. If the players themselves can do it, I don't see any S-E staffer given the task banging their head in frustration :wacky:

I wanna see Gilgamesh gameplay. You can't tease me with a scene of him (sort of) in CGI (and that got me perked up-maybe we'll see more CGI scenes in Duodecim?) and then not show me what he looks like as a playable character :ness:

This could be an opportunity to expand and what might be Duodecim's short story. And we can't pressure them, seeing as how they're busy with Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy Type-0, XIII-2, Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance, Final Fantasy XIV, PSP2 game, Nintendo 3DS game(s) and those other secret projects.

I think the game is going to be great but all of this technical stuff with website downloads and purchases seems like a bother. Can't we just download add-ons free from from the PSN? That would be much better.
 
hmmm it might be like that :D but this is sounding very kool....... downloadable content.. soo people who want a ffix or ffvi character don't panic yet..... they might come as downloadable content... as they do have something called a 'umd size limit' soo more characters and extra storyline might be added as downloadable content later :D

on the subject of prishe.... i through she was meant to be like shantotto... but ok sounds kool

and i would think theree was data install :P square is very good at having... stupid loading times... just look at birth by sleep without data install.. i done a boss fight in data install in bbs the other day and it took 30 seconds just to load a command style :P
 
I still don't understand Kain's alternate costume. Is it from The After Years? It honestly felt out of the blue for me that it's suppose to be Kain, but I'm not completely aware of all concept art used for characters during the NES/SNES era, so what did I miss? xD
 
There's a whole lot more to Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy than just fighting as your favorite Final Fantasy characters. For the PSP sequel, Square Enix has added a bunch of new modes that will expand the play experience even further. Weekly Famitsu and Famitsu.com have details on three of these: Party Battle, MogWeb, and Original Quests.

ORIGINAL QUESTS
The new Original Quest mode lets you create customized quests. You can give your creations a name and add multiple battles and between-battle events.

Battles can be chosen to be round-based or elimination style. You can specify precise conditions for victory -- things like "win within 3 minutes," for instance. You can also create original rules, making it easier to build up your EX gauge and increasing critical hit rates, for instance. These original rules, incidentally, can be applied outside of the Original Quest mode.
For events, you can set the background, background music, and even choose character icons for dialogue boxes. Some of the icons shown in Famitsu look like the original Final Fantasy sprite art. The magazine suggests attempting to recreate scenarios from the original source material.

You have access to a Test Play button from the edit screen, so seeing how well your creation works should be easy.

MOGWEB
MogWeb is tied into quest creation in that it can be used to download and upload quests. You can search for user uploaded quests by popularity or arrival order. You can also choose to exchange quests with a particular friend by first exchanging the 12 digit friend code that's visible at the bottom of the MogWeb interface screen. By publishing your friend code online, other players will be able to search for your quests and download them.

The MogWeb interface also shows options for "Net Surechigai" (tag mode) and "My Page." The former allows you to do tag mode style data exchanges via the internet -- useful for those who probably won't be passing by other players any time soon. You can do up to four exchanges per day.
The Original Quest mode creation interface has an "Edit Lock" option. I'm assuming this allows you to lock off your creation from being edited by players who download it through MogWeb.

PARTY BATTLE
Party Battle is a free battle mode where you form a five member party and face off against another five member party. You can set each of your characters with a job, which changes their abilities. These types of party battles will also appear in the game's story mode at times.

In an interview with Famitsu this week (posted at Famitsu.com as well), director Mitsunori Takahashi said that Party Battle was implemented with the goal of allowing players to create their dream party combinations. You can even give your creation a name, he noted. Your "Friend Card" player data card can have this party attached to it.

CHARACTER DETAILS
Joining all these gameplay details are looks at Aerith, Warrior of Light, Garland, Frioniel, The Emperor and Cain Highwind. We put up the Aerith details earlier. We also shared some of the character details, but there's a recap anyway.

The magazine shows the third form costumes for the characters. Warrior of Light looks like a knight job costume from Final Fantasy. Garland's and Frioniel's are based off their Yoshitaka Amano illustrations. The Emperor gets his third form from the CG movies in PlayStation's Final Fantasy II remake. Cain has his Final Fantasy IV The After costume.

The characters have added moves. Warrior of Light has Ultimate Shield, a new ground-based HP attack where he tosses his shield forward, dealing repeated damage if it strikes. Garland's new move is Flare, an air-based HP attack that strikes your opponent with your sword while releasing an explosion. The Emperor has a new HP attack called "Melancholia Cage," which places magic about the stage like mines. Frionel's new HP attack, "Road of Arms," attacks the opponent with a blade that crawls through the ground.

I know EU usually get's the special editions, but I don't see why NA wouldn't get the DLC in some way (although biting my fist that EU get's a special edition while NA as always likely won't ;A; )

Final Fantasy XI's Prishe made her Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy debut in a trailer shown at Square Enix's 1st Production Department Premier event a couple of weeks back. The magazines have at last caught up on the coverage, with the character getting some space in Weekly Shounen Jump this week.

The big revelation in the article is that Prishe will be voiced by Aya Hirano, a prolific voice actress with numerous anime and games to her credit (including Hana from the Yakuza series and Kanonno from Tales of the World).

The magazine doesn't seem to say much about the character in the way of gameplay details, only noting that she uses a fighter style. For a more in-depth look, we'll probably have to wait for Famitsu (which usually trails Jump by about a week for Dissidia coverage).

Also in Jump, a look at Vaan's Third Form, which is themed around the character's Final Fantasy Tactics A2 look, and gives him a bowgun for use in battle.
The magazine also reveals that the April issue of sister monthly publication V Jump (due for release on February 21) will have a huge feature on Duodecim. The magazine will include a product code for a costume of some form for Final Fantasy VIII's Squall.

But holy crap, Squall's gonna get another alt. costume (although it seems thus far you need to buy that Japanese magazine to get the code, but still...!) :jess:

Maybe that means there's more outfits for everyone else? :hmmm:
 
prishe looks kool but shame there's still no game play details :/

but can't wait for this huge feature... shame i'm in farnce on the 12th soo guess i'll just have to be surprised when i return :P

and koool a new costume for squall.. wonder what it will be... maybe kingdom hearts :P like cloud...

and i hope the wedding dress for yuna turns out ture :D

and finally sorry to say.... yuna owns everybody.... cuz she has aeons ;) and can send :P

I'm not sure where the image is from, but it looks like Square Enix will be releasing tumblers based off Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy. Yuna, Lightning and Tifa, all newcomers for the upcoming sequel, will get their own versions, each priced ¥1,995.

These tumblers will be released some time this Spring, exclusively through the Square Enix online shop and showcase space.

In other Dissidia news, composer Takeharu Ishimoto is promising a February 7 announcement related to the upcoming Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy soundtrack. The soundtrack is already due for release on March 2. Ishimoto says to look forward to the announcement, so it's probably not bad news.
