Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

I guess it depends upon whether or not they decide to give everyone Aerith, or if she was to remain as DLC only.

If the latter then there is nothing forcing them to include her in the story. It would be cool, but her being DLC suggests that she is merely an accessory more than anything else, and not really a part of the storyline. I'm not sure though.

Perhaps they'll include references to her with Cloud and Tifa, or perhaps she may even appear in order for Cloud to
be controlled by Sephiroth and attempt to kill her (since Cloud is in his dark days in this game) followed by her real death by Sephiroth. This could then contribute to Cloud's insanity and internal conflicts, which would then be
resolved by Tifa.
 
She can't only be an Assist, she has limits and attacks, and Gil has the same. She's either a rare case, or she's both...

She's a character and part of the story just as much as Cosmos. Just because you can't play her doesn't mean she's not apart of the story. :C

Hmm, okay, thanks you two. :hmmm: I was just a little confused how she can assist characters that she never knew. She'd either have to have met them during this storyline or she's just there helping out :wacky: which would be really lame on SE's part. :griin:
 
If Aerith is only an assist character, I think it's all the more easy to believe she won't have a story significance in this particular game. It would just outright suck to have to pay for extra story content, even via a DLC character.

How much do DLC characters usually go for. Since she may only be in the assist capacity, I would think she wouldn't cost too much :hmmm:

The last image doesn't look much different than the last Dissidia's version of it :O
They could have done something else to it to make it better. >.>

I have a feeling any new characters will be Assists, if Gil and Aerith have Assist attacks and there isn't word about Gil's character, then I think the last remaining ones will be Assists :(

aerith needs artwork..... :D and i also hope that square enix release more characters as downloadable content...... that would be sooo kool..... and fun... garnet in the game.. and i'm sorted..

but whoever else get in the game dont really matter.. all i care about is that yuna is in the game :D she made it and that is kool.......... :D but we need more bad guys and garnet lol :D

and i want the prints...... they would go great on my wall :D

Want a glimpse at Final Fantasy VII's doomed heroine Aerith Gainsborough in Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy? Then pick up Famitsu, as the magazine has a first look at the character.

No, Aerith is not one of the playable cast members. As previously detailed, Aerith appears in the game exclusively as an assist character -- that is, a character you set to your main character for support during battle. To gain access to her, you'll need to have a save file from Dissidia Duodecim Prologus Final Fantasy, the ¥300 demo that's available right now on PSN.

In terms of how the Dissidia version of Aerith looks, the artwork and single in-game shot in the magazine make the modeling look like it's based off Advent Children appearance, right down to the pink long dress and red vest.

In an interview in this week's Famitsu, Duodecim director Mitsunori Takahashi revealed that Aerith is a bit different from other Assist characters. The development staff searched and searched but couldn't find any attack skills amongst Aerith's limit skills, he joked. So, they made use of such skills as Jaki Fuuin, which freezes the enemies, and Hoshi no Shugo, which makes her allies invincible for a brief period.

Aerith is an assist character with special abilities, something that Takahashi feels will expand the breadth of play in the game.

Incidentally, Dissidia's version of Aerith is voiced by Maya Sakamoto. This isn't surprising, as Sakamoto voices the character in Crisis Core, Advent Children, etc., but we have to mention this kind of thing for all characters due to the Vaan incident.

As small as it is...Dissidia's Aerith looks great! :3 Figured Nomura would try on Yuna and Aerith the most xD

Who is that in the image above Aerith? Sorta looks like Yuffie and Yuna mixed together lol
 
That's Yuna doing the sending dance. We all know that Yuffie is not in Dissidia Duodecim. I spect to see some more informations and new scans by tomorrow.

I know she's not in it...I was just saying it looked like Yuna and Yuffie mixed together, and it threw me off as to who it was.
 
Yuna looks really fun to play as! :33 And I'm not so happy by the trailer. It was cool and all, but I wanted more Laguna, Terra, Buntz and Onion Knight! >.>

Ah, Aerith looks so pretty. Reminds me of her KH version though.
 
I am really confused. Why are they doing all this rendering or emphasis on her if she's just an assist character? She has no story in the game, why bother? 8(
 
Because she's Aerith and she's from FFVII. Probably one of the most iconic characters that had one of the shortest face time in a game to boot.

If Aerith had been announced instead of Tifa, and Tifa was the DLC character, I'd imagine hypothetical DLC-Tifa would get the same treatment.

But again, I'm just hoping for more DLC characters to be announced (or better, more assists that can somehow be unlocked in the game :jess: )
