Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

My question is, what will Squall have? I hope Warrior of light has his original costume as seen in Final Fantasy I intro. That costume was awesome. Cloud has plenty of possibilities, but Squall, Zidane, and Tidus are very limited. What could each of them have?

A hack that would be a cool costume

Tidus could have Shuyins outfit and maybe a Dressphere type of thing........maybe?

Sqaull could have his Garden Student Uniform + his Seed outfit again.

Zidane...........not so sure?

Cloud as you say has lotsa outfits.......just no dresses thank you!

Cloud in drag would be awesome :mokken:

Either way, Zidane definitely has very few options...

Zidane could wear that armour the Alexandria soldiers wore. Can't really remember him wearing anything other than that and his original outfit though.

Either that or Kuja's speedos I'm afraid.

What can a monkey wear?

The Armor scene was not an overly long sequence so I dont think it would make the cut?

He had his Aqau type vest getup from FFIX and they gave it a darker color, abit of a cheap way of doing things but they hit the same wall we have here?

I can't agree more there. Terra had her sword in the official artwork for Dissidia, but she (as far as I can remember) didn't use it in battle. Terra was meant to be a combination of both magic and sword fighting.

Um....Argor, she might have been given one in the art, a complete and total confusion and lie on their part, but she doesn't have one. She not only isn't equipped one just for looks, but not allowed to equip them. In a chase sequence, she is permitted one slice of a small dagger and that's all.

She is supposed to be able to use Fails, swords and daggers. But who ever the heck made this game obviously didn't play FF6. lol

Lightning Brea and Kingdom Hearts Strife.

Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy content will actually ship before the game. The 3rd Birthday comes with a code that gives Lightning an Aya costume, fitting since Aya has a Lightning outfit in her game. Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix includes a code for a Kingdom Hearts Cloud costume. You’ll need to connect to PlayStation Network to download both costumes. It’s unclear if Square Enix plans on selling these as DLC or if they’re just a bonus for fans that pick up their other PSP games.

01:31a: While the trailer for Dissidia Duodecim has yet to surface (and it was blocked on the Sony press conference) we have a translation available from Famitsu who was there to witness the trailer! “As with the previous game, the narrator describes a world where the two gods Cosmos and Chaos fight. There is a scene where the new fighter Lightning goes against the Warrior of Light, as well as a scene where Kain attacks Bartz, as well as other interesting scenes. A scene with Kuja talking to Zidane, and another with Cloud and Kuja having a conversation. Are they on different sides than they were in the first game? Or is it because they’ve lost their memories? Also, Cecil and the Onion Knight are talking on what looks like an airship, and Cloud wears a new costume. You can also see the Emperor and Golbez, as well as Kefka among other characters from the previous game. At the end you can see Tifa say to Sephiroth ‘Who are you?’”

For Zidane, how about a generic Genome costume? Genomes all look pretty much the same as a whole, so perhaps that could work out easy enough.

I'm not keen on the idea of them losing their memories though. I'd rather have the internal references in battle quotes rather than people not knowing who each other are.

Great news on Tifa though. Tifa is strong, but it would be interesting to see how she works in a game where the majority of the characters have some sort of attack which is much more long distance. Perhaps Tifa will too. I can already see two obvious alternate costumes for Tifa (her AC look, and her younger cowgirl Nibelheim look), so she was a good choice in that respect.

I hope that this now means that we will get an additional character for each Final Fantasy game.

Ooh i'm glad Tifa got in, i've always said she'd be awesome in Dissidia :ohoho:

Also, correct me if i'm wrong but is BBS FM the UK/US version? :hmmm: i'm not sure what is classed as the 'final mix' and if we even get it :sad3:

Birth By Sleep is getting re-released in Japan as Final Mix, but chances are it'll end up being DLC or summat for western owners. :wacky:

Omg Tifa got in? Yay just like I predicted :ohoho: As for Lightning Brea I got really nothing to say but wtf. I am really happy Tifa got in though. Always wanted her as a character. s for rthe trailer I only can see a little. Ill wait till it gets a full screen version.

Thanks for the trailer leak, Sho! It's hard to really see what is going on, but I can tell that it shows a new big cgi cutscene with Lightning and all of the characters fighting each other, as in the first game.

Thanks for the Kain fighting footage too.

Time for a bit of speculation now...

Who wants to bet that Gilgamesh will make an appearance in this game? Nomura himself once said that he'd love to include him in a sequel to Dissidia. I think that Gilgamesh has quite a strong chance of getting in as he is (other than Cloud, I think) a character which has had more appearances than any other character outside of their own game's universe.

Sazh is also a possibility I think. Nomura also said that he'd like to include him in a sequel. Perhaps Sazh will be a second FFXIII character to team up with Lightning. I think it would be cool if that was the case.

I think what'll happen is that we'll end up having two heroes per game, so that the new allies system can work perfectly, and each main character can call on an ally from their own respective games. As for villains, hopefully we'll get two villains two so that the same can apply for them. I'm not sure if this is really what they have planned, but I certainly hope so, and what we see so far could support this.

I dunno about the last part's reasoning, in the scans we have villains helping allies, so unless the sides have been jumbled about I doubt it's a case of letting the allies have more help etc.

I was thinking that they may have showed it that way to avoid revealing all of the new characters straight away. I'm sure that people would team up with different people throughout the game, and villains too, but perhaps it'll end with the character teaming up with the other hero character from the same game.

It might not be, but I think it makes sense. I don't know why they would give us Tifa and Kain without giving the other games another character too. The first Dissidia did its best to be fair for all of the games it was representing, so it would be a shame for some games to get heavy representation in this new game, while others are left in obscurity.

I assume it will be the case on both the hero and villain side of things, though who will be the second villain for FF7 if we have Tifa and Cloud? :hmmm: while i'd like Genesis, he doesn't really have a connection to Tifa :wacky: Scarlet would be lulz :sad3:

Bah, I hope it isn't a case of lots of heroes and barely any villains :sad3:

That's also true. I think that villains will be harder to think of for the earlier games, but there are villains in the games which are only seen for a short while. I think that if Cloud of Darkness got into Dissidia as FF3s villain (correct me if I am wrong as I've never played FF3, but I think she only appears at the end?), then it is quite possible for obscure villains to be made to fit in somehow.

I think that if we were matching secondary villains up with secondary heroes:
Tifa - Scarlet, or Don Corneo :-)wacky:). I can't really see any of those working in battle myself. They might have to team her up against Elena of the Turks, or Rufus.

Kain - Well... This is tricky as really the best match would be Golbez, but I guess that Zeromus would work. Both Golbez and Zeromus are joint best matches for both Cecil and Kain really.

I think CoD and Xande for FF3 methinks :hmmm:

And I didn't even think of the Turks, maybe Rude? :wacky: though I think Reno suits it more, since he's very nimble in AC :hmmm:

As for Lightning Brea I got really nothing to say but wtf.
This would be called milking the cash cow, they decided to put Aya Brea in Lightning's costume at some point in the 3rd Birthday (most likely for appeal) so in return they're letting Lightning have Aya Brea's costume. Either that or they're ridiculously unoriginal. :wacky:
