Aerith as a playable character would be weird now that she is an assist character in all honesty. We already saw her in the game as an assist character so that is what she will stay as. Unless that is just for Prologus and they change it in the final game but I doubt it as it will be out soon.

She's hardly ever used in crap like this and she's one of the most memorable FF characters there is.

Also, Dissidia has proven to be far from crap

That said, nobody has said SE isn't going to put more characters in here. Geez.

They have more or less said that they're will only be a certain amount of playable characters. I agree Aerith having a character icon is rather interesting, but maybe there's more to the assist system we aren't aware of. Maybe setting up assist characters before battle will have some menu screen with character profile pics..?

I just really hope we can expect more assist characters. Aerith is great and all, but I want more ♥

But you've brought up a good point. Maybe the artwork picture of Aerith is tied to a more detailed system for the assist mode.

Come on guys. If they took swords from Terra and she can still manage to fight, then Aerith being a playable character would have just as much as Terra and Yuna to use as her "attacks/weapons".

They didn't (if she isn't playable) make her playable so people wouldn't beat on her (you people knowz whoze I talkinz 'bout!) and make Sephy kill her again and again. Plus, didn't Nomura say something about her in KH?

It doesn't really matter if she is just an Assist character, she is a character in the game none the less and remains to be so. You can't play Cosmos, does that make her less of a character? What about Chaos? Or Cid?

I don't really mind what she is in the game, though I hope she's playable because that space could have been used for another FF title...

Some of said we didnt want her playable because it would be SE favouring FF VII too much. and NO ONE wants that. So we ed over that. but we came to an agreement that it would be ice to have her in duodecim. just not playable. that way SE wont favour VII that much. now can we stop arguing? its allready taken up 3 pages.

I thought the fact that she appears anywhere near the game would please her fans.

Anyway, the fact that she is in the game as a support seems good enough for me. She can stop people in place while Cloud's turtle speed attacks clobber people, which should step up his game in the least bit, (I hope ) Maybe they'll give her a role in the story similar to what they gave Cosmos somehow? Like she follows the heroes around and gives advice or does the things that she does?

About Aerith. I really wanted to get a FF6 or FF9 person, most out of any of the Final Fantasies, and I'm really gutted and disappointed that SE hasn't included any characters from them, that they have just been ignored like they don't exist. And not hating on Aerith on anything, but adding in another FF7 character, just because it's FF7 would just make me.... rage... just explode with rage. It would be like favoritism and putting FF7 on above the other Final Fantasies . It would just be really unfair. It's already unfair that FF6 and FF9 are being ignored and a game ( FF11) that not much fans care about has gotten a character instead of them. I don't mean to hate Aerith, because I love character, but adding in four FF7 people, it would be so unfair.

Also holy shit what's with the Aerith hate. I love her to bits but I'm skeptical as well about her being a playable character. I'm not quite sure where you're coming from about her being a better player than Yuna, cause she's more Geomancer as a class than anything. She can heal, she can cast, she can technically attack with her staff but she isn't specific to any one thing. So if SE keeps in mind that she can combine everything into her sort of non-existing class, it could be good.

Also favouring VII? wtf two characters is suddenly SE thinking that VII is a God? VII has proven to be a very popular and moneymaking franchise for them alone, so quite frankly them including another VII character, whether it was Aerith, Vincent, Red or Cid, makes a shitload of sense than them including someone else.

Also Desperado Chaos is Chaos. I think the whole Chaos POV thing is meant for us to maybe play as Chaos Warriors.. I'm not sure you can play as him. Or maybe.

I think Aerith as an assist character will at least make the Aerith Lovers happy. But If only we could see her in CGI like Advent Children. I wonder who they will have left to reveal or is that everybody? I still have hopes for Beatrix and maybe an XIII Villian? Oh and to continue what the pages said before that realy does look like Doctor Cid.. That Picture of Cloud and Tifa is pretty nice. Although I want Cloud out of the picture

Don't you mean four FF VII characters ? Sephiroth, Cloud, Tifa and Aerith ? Not necessary, if could have the anti- effect which we are talking about. It could make fans of those Final Fantasies not getting any characters upset and boycott and not buy the game, and that will loose money and fans for them. Which is what we mean, we are not bashing Aerith or hating on her, we just think that adding in another FF VII would be unfair, that's all.

Sorry, by two I was talking about two NEW characters. But either way this whole Aerith thing has blown way out of proportion considering that so far what's confirmed to us, is that she's just an assist character. Nothing more, nothing less yet.

Besides, what's to make of this? Could it be another XIII character yet to be revealed? There's no reason why it would have been Light when she was playable in the demo. WHO KNOWS. But people need to stop hating on VII because one and a half characters have been revealed, when the game ISN'T EVEN OUT YET so they still have plenty of time to reveal more characters to us.

I'm really glad that Tifa got her Crisis Core Outfit. That means that she has 4 costumes now.

Those pictures were posted a few pages back as well as Gilgamesh and Prishe. There hasn't been any scans of them yet but there has been a picture of them from Dissidia Duodecim 012 Final Fantasy Prologus demo. We are still waiting for their confirmations and scans revealing them.

This is really interesting. I dont know if they are real but they must be.

Square Enix’s 1st Production Department conference this past week revealed that Gilgamesh would be on the roster of characters in Dissidia 012[duodecim]. Unfortunately, we couldn’t gather the footage to prove it.

However, if the pictures below from My Game News Flash are real, what you’re looking at is camera shots of Gilgamesh, Prish and…Desperado Chaos?

Desperado Chaos? Wow and I thought he would be too powerful.

Finally, here’s one last image. A…Moogle? Or does it mean something else?

Judging by the white background as opposed to the black blackgrounds the villains logo uses, I'm gonna suggest that it could possibly be a hero. As mentioned countless times before, Tetsuya has expressed a desire to add Sazh to Dissidia, so I reckon it could either be him, or if we're gonna go with the order of plot relevance, then I'll say either Vanille or Fang. Though Fang would probably be a toned down Dragoon, Vanille's fishing rod staff thing would definitely be different.

Who knows though, that background may change to black for the final piece and it could end up being a villain, in which case, Cid Raines I'll say.

I doubt the moogle image will mean that we get to play a moogle. For starters FFXIII didn't have any moogles, so he wouldn't be a representative of that game.

I'm guessing that moogle image is a placeholder for a character they are perhaps keeping well hidden for the time being (Sazh or Vanille as mentioned would be likely if a FFXIII hero). Alternatively it could be something entirely different.

Haha, I was saying to Mark earlier I would love for a playable Moogle to be added at some point, silly as it would look If it doesn't happen now, it'll most likely happen in a future Dissidia. But alas, it's obvious as you said, that it's just placeholding.

I'm still holding out some hope that they will add characters for VI and IX, I would love to see Celes or Locke from VI added, and Beatrix or Vivi from IX. Mind, the Prologus not having a portraitless logo like XIII has there is killing that hope a bit. =[

the moggle is just a dummie for the game... these were done using demo cheats in the demo... because i got a image of yuna in the menu even through she not in the demo ....

and here are some higher quality pictures of the two new characters... i took these myself..

what they are doinmg is trying to get the non playable characters in the demo playable.... i'll keep u updated if i see anymore.....

That pretty much means what I posted above is true. So that confirms Desperado Chaos as a playable character I guess. I know Chaos was non playable in the 1st Dissidia and only unlockable as an opponent to fight. This is a new addition but I hope that it wont be overpowered.
