Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

Then there's something sincerely wrong with you. :mokken: Go back 4 pages or so and have a look at all the remaining character models in their alts if you haven't already. Yunie in wedding dress in updated graphics. So purdy. :ryan:
Will do. :wacky:

How about I just have you recap for me when I don't know every detail? :wacky:

wait... why exactly is Tidus on the bad side? I understand Cloud and Terra being bad because they were actually controlled by bad guys. But, why exactly is Tidus ebil?

It's Dissidia, it's all important! :rage:!

In all seriousness, it is hard to keep track of everything in this thread. I've found myself behind many, many times. I've probably missed or overlooked some of the things announced today. :sad2:

As for Aerith... It's a shame that it is DLC only... I'm hoping that we get more than just Aerith as an assist though. They could easily give us one per game, or more, if they wanted to. I think it's more likely to be just a little bonus though. Assists are for the most part the characters you can play as in Dissidia, with Aerith as a bonus.

It would be awesome if they took it further and gave the treatment they've given to Aerith to other characters, though.

Okay I just read the last couple of pages and I watched the trailer. So impressed with Yuna and her alt is her wedding dress which is awesome. I dont know who the hell Prishe but she looks okay. Gilgamesh is of course confirmed because of the trailer. Like I said I would buy this game just for Yuna but I am more impressed now. The story really does sound more exciting than the first one was. If that is Cid it would kind of make sense because we need a villian playing the part of XIII. :hmmm: But I have a feeling it isnt Cid. Cloud, Tidus and Terra on chaos's side will shape things up a little bit. Aerith as an assist character is also a cool bonus. But you got to pay for the demo. SE bastards!

So gabranth brain washed Tidus? Thats who hes standing beside. Right?

Well no, we're not quite sure what's going on with him. But Terra and Cloud were standing next to Seph and Kefka.

Will do. :wacky:

I could do that. :wacky:

Jecht is an okay guy in the original FFX he was pretty good somewhere around the middle when he started realizing his faults. Depending on the 'timeline' of this game if you can say it has one, he very well could start out good.

As for Tidus being against him I really hope it has something more than it just being 'daddy issues'. They can't leave it lame like that, there has to be something more.

However I'm loving that they went with Amano Tidus and left him shirtless for CG's. :ryan:

Played the demo. Lightning has some nice moves, but she's a powerhouse (which is really fun) just like Cloud, Sephiroth and the other clunky warriors. She moves fast, which is cool. And don't waste your money on the demo unless you like only playing Lightning in the story mode.

I played Kain for 5 enemies and wasn't really impressed, he's good and all, but I hope there's more to him than what the demo lets on.

On match fire, I battled Terra though...she was teamed with Cloud, which screams love :hehee

Oh, and on the Aerith thing--Boo-ya!

So I take it that FF7 is the special case (which I knew it would get something like this) and will be the only title to receive a "half" third character for their game?

Now SE just has to not disappoint me and put Edgar Or Celes in the game.

No more thieves and no more Dragoons, unless that dragoon is Freya.

I hate you so much right now....

Anywho. THis is really getting interesting. I cant wait for some more Info. Possibly some Yuna gameplay?

No more thieves? Why do you keep saying that? There's only one in Dissidia, and that's not enough, IMHO.

With the inclusion of Laguna I don't have quite as much hope for it, but I'm fully expecting another thief/ninja to appear in the game for the utilisation of throwing weapons. I've said it before, I know, but the only people who use throwing weapons are Tidus (who cheats by using Blitzballs, which don't show up on the list) and Firion (again, it's cheating because he uses every weapon together). I wanna see Shadow, or Edge, or Amarant, or even the FF1 thief get into the act! Someone who utilizes the thrown weapons as their Piece de Resistance, not as an added extra.

As for everybody not knowing who Prishe is, here's some background info:

And a typical fan's reaction to what she does in the storyline (look up "Video Games", second one down):

P.S DLC! Woo-hoo! There's hope for an extended roster yet!

Here are some new scans of Yuna from Famitsu. It also shows Tidus and Jecht's 3rd alternative custom.

Ah man, I'm sorry. You're not missing out on much, if it makes anything better. >.>

@Kaiser6012:
Vaan, Zidane, Tidus (sorta) and Buntz (sorta). Thieves aren't very fun, especially with how they killed Zidane in the last. Thieves repeat themselves as well, more so than sword warriors...

I've said it before. I don't mind more thieves/ninjas if its Shadow or Edge. :)

Okay, so long as we're in accordance. Ninja, yes, "straight" thief, no. I wouldn't personally class Vaan as a thief (his playstyle is too much like Firion's was for me to take him as a thief), nor Bartz (he's a thief, but then again he's everybody else as well) or Tidus (he's a weapon specialist, and lord knows we have enough of them), but that's just my own, personal interpretation. Yours is perfectly valid as well.

Also, I think the Prishe rage is wearing off. Now I'm kinda stoked that Gillie is in (I wonder what sort of playstyle he'll have? Like Bartz but not? A wall of hurt? Self-buffer?) and the news that we've finally got DLC makes me happy like I should be. Do we know if Aerith's only for the people who download the demo, or is it seperately purchasable?

Finally, Yuna looks awesome. Prolly not going to play with her wedding dress much (too much like what I feared, though I'm also stoked that she's not in any X-2 costumes) but the way she plays is completely out of left-field for me.

She can't really be that much younger if she knows Tidus. Then again who amongst us here speaks Japanese to translate the trailer? She may not know him, and only knows Jecht. OMG Plot twist. How funky would that be? Tifa doesn't know Seph... maybe Yuna doesn't know Tidus?

It doesn't look as if they know each other. Or at least Yuna standing near Jecht makes me think that...

That's true. If The people from 7 don't remember each other, it could stretch to the other games as well. :hmm

So the roster looks like this at the moment. I didn't add Aeris in the Final Fantasy VII section since she is not a playable character.

Final Fantasy I
Warrior of Light/Garland

Final Fantasy II
Firion/Emperor

Final Fantasy III
Onion Knight/Cloud of Darkness

Final Fantasy IV
Cecil/Kain/Golbez

Final Fantasy V
Bartz/Gilgamesh/Exdeath

Final Fantasy VI
Terra/Kefka

Final Fantasy VII
Cloud/Tifa/Sephiroth

Final Fantasy VIII
Squall/Laguna/Ultimecia

Final Fantasy IX
Zidane/Kuja

Final Fantasy X

Tidus/Yuna/Jecht

Final Fantasy XI

Shantoto/Prishe

Final Fantasy XII
Vaan/Gabranth

Final Fantasy XIII
Lightning/?

I really don't expect them to add another FFXIII character, so I think it's just Lightning soloing it as the FFXIII rep :hmmm:

Also-how are we suppose to grab all these alt. costumes that won't be included in the UMD disc? Are we gonna have to buy them off PSN? :ness:

I suspect that some may be grabbable during in game achievements.. such as, fight x amount of battles, gain this costume.. fight in every battle arena (after unlockables) unlock another character.. something like that. They can't ALL be DLC.

If Final Fantasy XIII will not have a villain then who will Lightning fight in her story mode? She needs a villain in her story mode, don't you think?

I can understand that, but when Dissida came out, Shantatto and Gabranth didn't get any pairings until Duodecim, so it could be the same for Lightning :hmmm:

And 'sides, I think Lightning is gonna be busy with whoever is already on the Chaos side (even Cosmos'; WoL sure loves to make dramaz :lew: ). It doesn't necessarily have to be a FFXIII baddie. Not to mention we might not see anymore new playable characters now that Prishe and Gilgamesh got added :/

Yuna
concept: Summon Master

-Summon appears during attack. Only part of the body appears because they are too large.

-She has standard attacks and is the easiest to use among all the new characters, recommand to new players. Unlike other characters, all her attacks (hit box) are from the summons. For most attacks, the summon will appear in front of Yuna, moving her a little bit forward/backward. Knowing the distance is one of the thing to master Yuna.
-Have attacks cover all distances, best at close to mid range, Ifrit for close, Valefor for far.
-Has double summon in EX mode. Meaning, her attacks in EX mode will have another summon come out automatically, for additional follow up + damage, also covers larger area, and covers her during cooldown.
