Did you find it cheap that the soldier sword, the UMBRELLA(WTF) and the buster sword deal the same damage. this is extremely cheap in my opinion:mad:

Not really. I thought of it as just an aesthetic change, since you couldn't equip weapons in the game it makes sense for them all to be the same. It wouldn't make sense really to go from one sword, to another and suddenly have a huge increase in power.

And, if the Buster Sword deals the same damage as the normal sword, it makes sense that they're all the same power - it would explain why the Buster Sword is the weakest sword in FFVII.

How is it cheap?
It's not as if you get any statistical upgrade. They only threw in the Buster Sword because they thought that it would help fanboys reach a state of orgasmic bliss. Zack is a member of Soldier he should be able to deal significant damage with anything.
It would be realistic to expect a difference in damage, but then again being sent on a holiday to Costa Del Sol is hardly realistic. It's game that was created to capitalise on FFVII popularity and rake in money, it wasn't made to be a good game or anything like that.

Really, it's all dependent on Zack's strength. The higher his level, the higher his strength and the more damage you deal to your opponent. Crisis Core took place before FFVII, so perhaps upgradeable weapons weren't available then? That's my opinion, anyway.

Hahahahaha. We're anaysing the strength of the Costa Del Sol umbrella?

It was joke weapon. It was intended to be seen as a bit of a laugh, and personally my favourite bit of the game.

If they lessened the damage then you'd die. You'd be killed by whatever it was that attacked you. They could have weakened them I guess, but then they'd have to be silly monsters like baby chocobos on roller blades or something. Actually, that would have been even better.

Maybe im wrong (so i stand corrected if someone does correct me), but maybe they didnt add upgradeable weapons because that mean they have to add a whole list of weapons to the game which = space on the UMD. i think it was 1.8 gigs last i heard. Considering all the materia and stuff on it, maybe they thought that adding variable strength weapons would take up too much space, thus the same damage for those weapons?

Maybe they didn't add different weapons... because Zack didn't use any other weapons outside of those three?

There's this thing called a story that gameplay and the mechanics focus around, maybe it was just following that bit? XD

You didn't have a choice over your weapons, all your strength was via stats and materia placement. Oh and accessories, and because you only have like, those 3 weapons I don't think there was much point in having any kind of difference in power between them

Although I guess it would have made sense for the brolly to be weaker.....:wacky:

But that would have just been iritating

I think that keeping the damage the same was fine.
The change of weapons was clearly in accordance to the change in story.
It makes sense that there was no change because you couldn't equip another weapon to change your base stats, so having the Buster Sword keep the same damage only makes sense to me.
Although, it would be pretty cool if you got a special AP attack when you received the blade.

Just my opinion!

Though, despite this truth....

It's got to be honestly, the best thing they've put out since lol children black herpes on my arms and face! and Dirge of Hojos rez thru the internetz fanboy weaboo poop.

But no, I wasnt really bothered that in a video game whacking someone with an umbrella is the equivalent of slicing them in half with a giant sword of doom.

after all, every time i log in to world of warcraft, I have to simply deal with the fact my Death Knight carries six trash swords and a bunch of trash plate equipment that all Merchants / Vendors want to buy, despite the fact its even more useless than the equipment most equipment vendors sell that has no stats.
