im playing monkey island 2. Just like the 1st game you get a trophy for pressing select :ohoho:
 
If there were no trophies or acheivements I wonder if people would play
 
I'm not sure if .detuned is really worth it, other than for the trophies. It was interesting and crazy, but only for about 15 minutes.

I think it's one of those games that you'd enjoy more if you were stoned or drunk. It's a crazy game. Hard to explain really... There's music and a guy on a seat, and you can rewind him and change him and turn him into an elephant... You get trophies for almost everything you fiddle with, but you could complete the whole thing within an hour of gameplay.

It's one of those games that plays more like an experience than a game. Linger in the Shadows is another one that is similar, though I like that one a lot more than .detuned.

But its a great game and i was trying to sell it to you by showing how easy it is to get a trophy.
Mlfy peole have played games since consoles were first out. Of course theyd still play if there werent trophies.
 
I think it would be better without trophies/acheivements to be honest Lew. Would make it more fun

I actually looked the game up (well, no. I looked up the trophy list) and the "beat the game in 3 hours" trophy would probably make me rip my hair out.

But seeing as how I already have flOw, Flower, and Linger in Shadows, I should probably also get .detuned. :hmmm:
 
Isnt Monkey Island a game on gamecbe?
 
You would just play your game normally except there wouldn't be a "brrrrrrring" noise going off every once in a while.

I just don't enjoy grinding to get the really hard trophies but I'll go for the easy ones just because they're there.
 
To be very honest the only acheivements I really care for the most are The one's in rpg's like FF XIII, Lost Odyseey etc etc

Flower is an awesome game. I still haven't got all of those trophies. :hmmm:


A world without trophies... I'd still play games just like I am doing, but I guess I would just give up on some games after completing them. Without trophies there is nothing to really pull me back into a game.

I wouldn't ever dream of jumping from rooftop to rooftop trying to collect 100 feathers. Or maxing out the crystarium and then maxing out weapons just so that I can kill a giant turtle. Or trying to beat a game at its hardest difficulty after just completing it at a difficulty that was challenging in itself. :rage: With trophies there it gives you a reason to do all of that crap. I still give up if it proves to take a long time, but at least a force more powerful is pulling me to do that stuff every now and then. It gives you something to aim for when you return to a game that you want to play, but have already beaten.
