Well, Dragon Mage, it seems to me that the poem sounds as if it could take a religious turn. I know in Christianity and branches of it, they often talk of being in the dark and shown the light by God, so if you're religious, that could be a path to take. If you're not, then you could even go as to compare what you believe in with another religion. Otherwise, I'd say that what you could even bring in some more concrete views instead of focusing so abstractly.
And no, I haven't considered anything of the like. I'd only just written that poem as I posted, and haven't edited it yet, either. I have longer ones that I like more, although I felt a lot of emotion with writing that, as it has a lot to do with my life right now.
I think you'd be surprised by how many publishers don't accept good work, for all sorts of reasons.
Doaj, have no fear. I have consolation for you. And for everyone that fears their work will never be published.
Now, lean close, I must whisper it in your ear. Closer... good. All right. Now here's the message that will banish your doubts, ease your fears, and fill you with confidence.
If some piece of shat like the Twilight series can be read and published to become wildly successful, than anything you write (and is inherently superior) will certainly be published in no time.
That, my good friends, is the trught.
