Have you ever been in a situation where you've heard one thing but the person has actually said something completely different? Usually, both would make sense, but the version you hear is often ridiculous, outrageous, filthy and exponentially more hilarious.

I once was talking to a friend and thought I heard ass instead of another friends name. Think the name was Jack or Jessy. It was several years ago.
 
All the time! Unfortunately I can't think of any specific examples at the moment but, my friends have a running gag where they say "Hairy Muff" instead of "Fair Enough" and it tricks me every time eg:

Me: "Nah sorry man, I can't be stuffed going out tonight"
Friend: "Hairy muff"
Me: Yeah man, I'll............wait, what!?
 
I hear dirty things like that all the time, which cause me to be like "Pardon?" and them to repeat what they said.

In Law though, the teacher often has to say dirty things, so to make it perfectly clear she goes "So when the man was caught masturbating - yes, I said masturbating - the police did..." just so we all pay attention and don't be all like "did she just say what I think she said?"
 
Hahahah, epic. My old French teacher used to do things like that, where she'd say something that she knew we'd all pick up on, pause and say "you now have 10 seconds to be amused, after which we will return to the lesson". Really great teacher. xD
 
I always do it, i dont always take things rude though, itsusually just me being thick and mishearing summat, Danny was waffling about making something before and he said hot pot, I jsut thought he'd said hob nob..... it's mostly really random things, and Il repeat what I think they have said then they will look at me like Im a complete pillock D:

The last time we spoke on the phone showcases this, though it might also be down to my accent. Remember you said on MSN that you didn't understand a word I was saying? You still managed to laugh in the right places, anyway. :wacky:
 
Haha well don't I know... :wacky: it happens often but the most recent one that I can think of is the time when my bro said 'dude, there's something on your back'
I thought he said 'dude, im such a fucking ass' I was like :gasp: so you finally admit that your an ass! and he was like "wtf does that have to do with anything?' idk, he does mumble sometimes and its hard to hear -__-
 
This happens, but not all the time. I do enjoy when it does happen. In person though, not online.

OMG it was the funniest thing the other day at work!

My manager, another co-worker and myself were standing out the front of the pharmacy and my manager said something which I totally misheard.

I was like =0, "What did you say?"

She said, "I said I have a painful uterus. Why? What did you think I said?"

I said, "I thought you said you had a painful clitoris." XD

We all could not stop laughing for so long. XD Everyone was looking at us like, "WTF?"
