Have you ever had any near misses? Have you ever been in a situation which could have ended up very badly for you, but you were somehow able to avoid it? Have you ever been in a situation where you could have been busted for doing something wrong, gotten yourself seriously hurt or even killed?

I remember when I was younger me and some friends were hanging out in a park after a party. Then some guy came up to us and one thing led to another and then he ended up pulling a knife on us. Luckily one of my friends happened to have a replica hand gun on him, this gun looked exactly the same as a real gun except it could only shoot blanks. Thankfully it was enough to scare the guy off.

There was another time when I was at my mates house with a three of my friends and we decided to get on his roof. Since he lives in the city, it was possible to go from roof to roof for a good while, so we made our way across the roofs and (being the sneaky ninja's that we were) someone happened to notice us and they called the police. We eventually got bored so we went back to his house. Then about 5 minutes later we heard a helicopter outside, so we peaked out the window and we saw a bunch of cop cars outside the building next door, we eventually heard from my friends parents that there were five cop cars and a police helicopter looking for us.

Bloody hell. xDDD

I've nearly been hit by the odd bus or car. Other than that, I've generally managed to stay out of trouble like that. We once had a few beers in a big local park and the police decided to patrol that park one night, we hid the beers in a bush until they were gone. xD

I can only add the odd time when I've been caught out for saying something I really shouldn't have and I've managed to either 1) shamelessly lie my way out of it or 2) argue non-stop until it's no longer an issue. xD

The one thing that I remember best as aa near miss was when I had my scooter and I was speeding down a dual carriageway, I needded to be in the left lane because I was due a turn off, indicated, did my checks - moved over (was on the white line by this point) had one last check over my left shoulder and WHOOSH, this fucking car flew past me so fast and close that it made my bike wobble. I absolutely shit it

If it would of hit me, Id of been a smear on the road, we were both speeding, I must have been doing 60, fuck knows how fast he was going. There's no way Id of survived that at that speed D:

nothing dangerous has happened to me but....
theres a street in the center of the city where only public transport drives by...due to low traffic ppl tend to cross it freely...even though it isnt allowed. anyway there was a small girl just walking towards the road while a was bus coming.......i made a few quick steps and kinda just stood in front of her holding her from the shoulders.....and the bus flew behind me.
my dressing style kinda....scared the girl so she screamed ^^ so yeah...i just smiled, apologized and walked away

When I was stupid and twelve, I was at school for some stupid play thing I was in on a Saturday, and, bored out of my mind, I decided to fuck around trying to figure out a song with the dial tones on a pay phone. Of course, I managed to dial 911, and then like ten minutes later I was walking around outside, and a cop pulled up and asked me if I had seen anyone playing around on the payphones dialing 911. I told him no, and then had a panic induced poop attack.

I haven't had a lot of them, really. Close calls, that is...Just normal things like almost having traffic accidents and shit.

Wonder if she went crying to her mommy about a big scary monster of a girl. :P

as for close calls, not really though I did get in a char accident where the only thing that worked on the car was the radio when I was little.

Shit, that was close

Ever had one of those hairy moments where you're just like....O____O knowing that something could be totally disastrous, but you some how manage to save the situation through blind luck?

I had two such occasions tonight, anyone that knows me, knows I don't have much luck with paint, spilling a full pot of pink paint down the stairs anyone?

Anyway, Ive just been finishing painting the doors ,phone tucked into my kecks coz Im just wearing a t-shirt for my painting -asking for disaster I know...anyway, it slipped and missed the paint pot by a fraction of an inch I was like O_O Ive already dropped the fucker down the loo and brought it back fom the dead, there's no way even *I* could have rescued it from a dunk in gloss. My heart was in my MOUTH

Then, when I was done, I was just being a smart arse, I was juggling the paint pot, my phone, the lid and the paint brush, fixing up random bits on the was as I was heading down the stairs, then DISASTER STRIKES, I only go and drop the stupid lid, again Im like O_O and managed to cath the fuck with my foot, wedging it between the side of my foot and the wall, it was again a fraction of an inch away from teh stairs.

I really need to stop being so stupid when paint is concerned, especially when it's gloss, that stuf doesn't come out for SHIT

I used to work on a car lot when I was in high school. I was doing something or other, driving one of the trucks. Co-worker was in the passenger seat, and we take off to do our errand or whatever, when he realizes he forgot something. I threw the little pickup in reverse and looked over my right shoulder to back it down the slight incline. I stop, he gets out, and goes into the shop.

I look back forward, and a flash of white catches the corner of my eye. I look to my left and see that I was like... 3 inches from backing into another pickup truck.

Not only was it one of our cars, but it had literally *just* been sold.

I still have nightmares about the ass-chewing I would have received.

Well last Friday night I was coming home from the shops with Steve and we were coming down the street that turned off into our street.

Anyway a car appears at the top of the street we were about to turn into.

It waited for us until we got there and then as soon as I went to turn it freakin' started to drive. 0_o

Like what the fuck! You waited until I came to the street and then decide that you want to drive? You can't drive through me you crazy drugged up driver!!!

Anyway I stop and then they stop and thinking that they were going to wait for me to go around them, (considering I had right of way) I start to turn right again and no they fuckin' come at me again!!!

I'm LIKE WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!!!

Then they kept coming and I started to accelerate out of sheer shock and then realised that they really were not going to stop and veered off to the left just before they plunged into my door and hit me!!!

I held my hand on the horn until I saw them disappear at the end of the street. They drove really slow too. 0_o Must have been drunk. <_<

I was in so much shock. I was shaking and I was so amazed that I was able to think as fast as I did.

Most people may have gone into shock in that kind of situation, (considering I was full on staring at the cars headlights coming towards my window), which is what I thought would happen to me.

So yeah it was a real close one and I managed to save it through luck of some sort. XD

Two weekends ago, I was driving in the pissing down rain in a 100kph limit zone. I was doing probably 80kph. Hit a low patch in the road and the car aquaplaned.

Now if anyone has ever experienced a real aquaplane in a car before, they'll know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, aquaplaned directly into the oncoming lane, into the path of a huge semi trailer (18 wheeler). Made the split second decision to put my foot to the floor, missing the truck by probably a car length and ending up on the grass shoulder.

Never been so scared in my life. I sat in the car for a good 10 minutes holding the wheel having a think about it.

If that truck hit me, it would have been head on and I wouldn't be posting here now.

At my school at the end of year you have to get all your teachers to sign off on this form, or else you can't go through to the next grade.
I'm AAAAWFUL at keeping track of things, so of course I had my FOURTH copy of it. The last one too, if I lost this one I wouldn't get another.

That day when I had almost all the signatures, I went into the toilets holding the paper (I was busting and didn't have to time to shove it in my bag :gonk:). I flushed the toilet & DROPPED THE FORM while it was flushing. I had like a mini heart attack and yanked it out; the only bit that got wet was the receipt that was stapled to the back that wasn't important.
PHEW :3

And you turned this paper into the school? Ewwww! :ness:

Mines a little bizarre, and I suppose only indirectly involves me. At my old job (the one before this one I have now), I drove the shuttle van to the employee parking lot and parked it in front of the car next to mine. It was winter time and I was starting it up before I went home to warm it up a little.

Well, I let my ex-girlfriend start it up. Keep in mind this car is a manual with a lot of horsepower. It also didn't help that I keep the seat positioned all the way down and all the way back, and she's a foot shorter than me. At first she couldn't start it because she couldn't press the clutch pedal down far enough. So once we resolved that, she started it up. Then she dumps the clutch and the car takes off! Luckily I backed the car into the parking spot, the van was not in it's path (and neither were any other employee cars) and more importantly no other person.

Yeah, that was freaking scary! Just the fact that you could dump the clutch without hitting the gas actually had enough to not stall and take-off instead.

i had several experiences. Mostly they were my fault and probably would've deserved it, but there were a few in which i was REAL lucky to get out of.

In tenth grade, the school was tossing these old text books out and since it was on the third floor, no one wanted to carry them down. So the school placed one of those HUGE bins and taped off a large area for the kids to toss down. One stupid kid thought it would be fun to see how far he could peg one of these things (since it was during period three, so no ppls in classrooms but the bludgers >.<"). I was going to the toilet when my phone went off (again, not allowed >.<). I stopped to pick it up and the said textbook flew a meter in front of me, right where my head would have been if i kept walking. Almost pissed my pants. i just stood there going "Holy fuck!" over and over again in my head.

I swear, if that had hit me, probably a concussion. It was like one of those maths textbooks that go for hundreds of pages.

I remember when I was younger I nearly came close to killing my younger brother twice.

The first thing that ever happened was one day we were playing downstairs and I had this bright idea.

I saw how the dryer worked when my mum used it and thought it would be fun to stick my brother in and see him go around and around.

He was in there for a while until my dad came rushing downstairs to see what we were doing and ended up saving him.

He could have got burnt or run out of air in that thing. =0

The second time we were on the veranda out the back at the top of the house and I pushed my brother through the smallest gap in the railing and he slipped through and fell onto the grass below.

Luckily he didn't get hurt at all. >.<

My parents were really upset with me.

Good lord, i've been just inches away from being hit by many reckless drivers. The first three were women, the last one was an asswipe who just HAD to beat the red light from coming on (yeah it was a guy mind you).

Stole a candy bar once, almost got caught but a person came into the store and started talking to the guy at the casher, so i got away with it. No way i was gonna pay 4 bucks for a damn candy bar >_>

I swear to this day I think back and think to myself-- what the bloody hell was I thinking? Lucky me that the police ended up letting me go freely. o_O (Yes, I took a trip with the police in their fancy police car)

Okay, (and before I start, I know what I did was really stupid and I do regret it because in the end things didn't work out anyways)

I, at one point in my life I guess you could say-- I started to change. I was always the goodie good and whatnot but when my parents went through the divorce and everything it just made things even more stressful for me and as a teen, (I was horrible when it came to stress and had a hard time handling it) but, nonetheless, it was no excuse for the actions I did.

let's see.. I was 16ish or so during the time of my parent's divorce and I had to pick and choose and whatnot but, that was half of it. During the time, I was dating a guy named Adam. He of course, was older then me and I never told my dad about him.(until later) I think he was 19? and I was 17?(when this occured not when we started to date) can't remember. I mean, I really really reaally liked this kid a lot. He understood me and he didn't care at all about my flaws and whatnot.. or that's what it seemed liked.

After a while, we started to get like really serious and so, I thought it was only fair that I tell my dad. I eventually told my dad, and he agreed to meet him-- but my dad didn't 'approve' I mean, my dad didn't understand that Adam was really important to me.....

Getting to the point, I was so pissed at my dad and I still went and saw Adam. One day, he 'convinced' me to 'sneak' out. And so, I did. I was only 17 and well, it was past curfew (on a Tuesday night).... Well, basically, the cops drove by and caught me. My heart litterally jumped. I should've known better. I knew what was coming and so did Adam. Of course Adam didn't get in trouble because he was over 18 but I wasn't. I could've gone to jail.... but the cops let me go. I was like................. soooooo damn lucky. I am still thankful.

I got in huuuuuuuuuuuuggggeee trouble D= with my dad.

But like I said, Adam was just a phoney and things didn't work.

Guys are never worth it >_>

Well so far I can only recall one. One time many years ago, I was walking home from school. I wasn't paying any attention and I ended up stepping over a poisonous snake. At that very second the snake lunged out at me and almost managed to bite me. That successfully knocked a few years off my life.
