So I'm doing this game (mainly for sidequest that this relates to) and my question is... does anyone like this game at all? I find it annoying and I never can find those Chocograph things for like 1000 turns! (used big number to get my point across.) Heck out of all my runs at FFIX I think I only got the chocobo to a golden one...once...ever...

I love it, it's addictive. Maybe my favourite FF sidequest, especially as the rewards are worth it - it's always great to dig up the Chocographs, sometimes it does take a while to find them, but persistence pays off.

I enjoyed it and yes I can agree the Chocograph become annoying, but I still enjoyed the mini game.

Its like the most addictive mini game ever, next to triple triad... maybe even more so

I love it. It gets frustrating after a while, but i get well excited when i get one thats looking like it could be a chocograph.. im replaying at teh moment and have just wasted a few hours in that first forest on arrival. I have my blue choco now though :3

Its the first time you play and youre looking for them on the world map that it starts to test me. The hours i spent trying to locate some of them... that ocean chocograph.... argh..... the location of that one is forever burned on my memory after pecking every square inch of ocean available

Also, I love the music :8F:

Yeah the Ocean one is the one Chocograph where figuring out the location requires either luck or a walkthrough. That one is just evil!

And there's also the cracks and bubbles to look for with your Chocobo, so much good stuff to find using them in FFIX.

i think ix was probably the most satisfying of all the FFs ive ever played, if only because of the hot and cold sidequest, i found every chocograph crack and bubble without any kind of help from a guide.

there was no luck involved either, im not that lucky, it was just sheer persistence :sad3:

The Ocean one...yes I swear when I got it, it was in a place I had pecked hundreds of times.

They were all annoying to find, and finding the cracks was annoying and finding the bubbles under the water was the most annoying thing in the world, the only one I found without any help was the one by Quan's place. the rest of them yeah right! I'm not going search all over the ocean to find three small bubbles that like a tiny bit bigger than every other bubble on the screen...

the chocobos give you hints to the general whereabouts, even im not crazy enough to check the entirety of the world map for some cracks and bubbles

...actually, that's a baltant lie as I clearly did this looking for the ocean chocograph, but still

It is an interesting distraction to say the least. It annoying when you spend a long time trying to get a chocograph, but its fun when you get a lot of treasure in a run. I found doing it for short intervals occasionally made it not so bad.

This is one of the few mini-games in any Final Fantasy that I actually like. Digging for treasure maps, chocographs; then exploring the world on our faithful chocobo.

It's very fun! And it really does get easier the more you play and level up your chocobo.

It can feel a little bit dull when you start off, but as you get further it becomes more enjoyable. As your beak level becomes higher and you get better and more frequent rewards, it becomes less of a chore, and more of a fun game in its own right.

I love playing it so much! I've even made (in 3 diufferent playthrouhgs) a Level 99 star Chocobo! ^w^ I can't get enought of that game! I think my record time for 8 items in the chocobo lagoon is about 41 seconds left, of course, that's after the bonus 10 seconds.... so about 29 seconds for all 8 items! ^w^
:kwehnitis:

The actual game itself was very fun and addictive. If there was ever a game based off of it I would play the heck out of it. But actually finding the chocographs was horrible. I don't think I've ever been so mad with a game than when trying to find the foam and the cracks :gasp:

This was probably my favorite mini game in a game like, ever. I would start up new files just to be able to start over and play Hot and Cold again, lol. I wouldn't even bother finishing the game, once I finished the sidequest I'd just restart. >.< Strange child, I was.

I think finding all the chocographs, cracks and bubbles is probably my proudest FF acheivment ever, it took so long and was so infuriating and as the guide is complete dog shit, i couldn't even refer to that to have a cheeky peek :wacky:

not long since beat that game again, it gets easier finding them when youve done it before, though i still have issues with some of them, even when i resort to looking up the exact locations and I STILL cant get the KWEHHHHHH!!. Drives me barmy. but its definately the best mini game ever

Chocographs come eventually. I think it's a bit rigged to where they come gradually.
It's pretty much the game's big sidequest- you will get all kinds of rare items including ultimate weapons and armor.
